We stayed at Saman Hostel for four nights and we really fell in love with the hostel. Everybody is incredibly friendly, welcoming and the atmosphere made us feel like being part of a big family. Also, the owner Alejandro has an amazing story to tell, about the hostel and it's history. The hostel is very clean, there is a great... More

We moved to this hostel from another hostel in a different part of Medellin after checking out the area and seeing the private room beforehand. We also read the reviews and read that it was loud but decided to book it regardless for Friday and Saturday night. Really really regretted that decision. I would only stay here from Monday to... We stayed for a few days and enjoyed our stay. The location is very handy to lots of great restaurants, bars and clubs - also there are a lot of pretty squares/parks nearby which we'd recommend for a wander or drink or bite to eat. At the weekend this does make it a bit noisy (as the clubs run late)... More

Simple, good kitchen, nice breakfast, helpful staff and quality facilities. Free computer use, fast WiFi, smoking area and 24 hour staff. They also gave us breakfast when we arrived early before check in. Close to the metro (15 minute walk), many bars, great restaurants and the main bus terminal.

This hostel is clean, has comfortable beds, nice staff and a nice common area. It has also been my least favourite hostel in all of south america. It literally backs onto a club that rages until 4am. Not only is it loud, it literally vibrates the whole room. Earplugs do nothing as it vibrates so much it nearly rattles your... More

The staff and especially Diana and Paola are so friendly and welcoming- they give you a map of the city and a little info on all the sights! Breakfast is fruit. The place is clean and calm, pretty decor. It is just about the maximum distance from the metro that I would do. Near the main parks and restaurants of... More

This was my last hostel stay of many of my year on the road, and I had high hopes for the Samán based on everything I'd read online. My initial impression of the hostel was a good one, even though I had a hard time lugging my 21 kilo backpack up the inclining hill (and flights of stairs) from the... More
