I originally had booked with Ayenda 1234 Imperio 70. I had arranged a driver to pick me up as I arrived late at night. When he parked in front of the Ayenda I begged him not to leave me at that place. There had been a soccer game in the nearby stadium and there were people drinking, smoking pot in the street by the dozens. I did not feel safe. He took me to the Hotel Bolivariana Plaza. I spent 2 nights there. The room was very small, tiny, but it was very clean and the window faced a hallway, not what I expected but the location was much better than the other. It is a quiet street. Breakfast is included. I throught I could stay for the rest of the trip but they were fully booked OR I could move to 2 different rooms. I decided to move and for the same price I stayed at a much better hotel, way better. It has very nice hand painted signs all over, very inspired for self-confidence. I loved each. Breakfast has not a great variety but it is a good breakfast. It is served, not a buffet. Very basic and you have a choice of coffee or hot chocolate, which is nice because I don't drink coffee. That is where I first had an "arepa". Unfortunately I have an intolerance for corn, it just stays in my stomach all day, so for my second breakfast I declined the offer of arepas. I am very greatful for their hospitality and for taking me in that night so late without a reservation.

Where to begin? First of all, the staff was super friendly, with them messaging us via whatsapp even a day before our arrival to check if everything was going well with our trip. The rooms were decent enough, with a cozy bed and excellent shower. The hotel was well-located, with a lot of great restaurants nearby (including an EXCELLENT restaurant literally next door). The only issue we had with the hotel was the fact that the breakfast was simplistic and not very tasty, but all in all, we had a pretty good time staying at Bolivariana Plaza.

I had an excellent stay at the hotel from check-in to check-out. The hotel is located across from a soccer (football) field of a University, in the Laureles area. There are a lot of small stores and many restaurants within walking distance. I felt completely safe the entire time by myself. The location is just a short ride to the city and the Poblado area. Tatiana at check-in was so helpful and knowledgeable. Oscar was amazing, always willing to help and answer any questions. The hotel had a modern feel but not pretentious, definitely a hidden gem. I liked that I always saw people around, be it hanging in the lobby, restaurant, rooftop patio, or hottub. My room was a city (park) view, modern and very comfortable, spacious, with lots of room to unpack my bags and storage areas. They do have a mini fridge with drinks, candies, etc, even a condom too :) I think the condom needs to be changed, the packaging looks a bit rough lol. I did not find the room loud, even though it was facing the street. However the football players do come to play early and leave late at times, it didn't bother me. I loved that they had a hottub, after a long day of sightseeing, it was perfect to relax my muscles. They also have a hot and cold sauna. The breakfast that was included was made to order and delicious. Wasn't buffet, but was plentiful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I even booked a day trip to Guatape through the hotel and it was amazing. Would highly recommend here and would most definitely stay here again.

Small hotel family oriented, good staff, and friendly, it's ideal for a visit to Medellin Close to shops, resturants, and very reasonable for a budget trip here is ideal. Nice rooftop area to chill out in

Lots of good things about this hotel - Excellent value for money with friendly staff. Breakfast reasonable. Safe area. Negatives - Disappointed that the heavy shower head fell off while I was in the shower - hitting me on the head and leaving us to have a shower with the pipe from the wall - hopefully this was just unlucky! Also we used the gym but I don’t think this was fit for purpose so needs some work! Two treadmills (one that didn’t work), a spin bike which only had one functional pedal and a cross trainer which had no power to it and therefore could only be used without resistance. There was also a cable type machine but we daren’t try that as it didn’t look robust and was unclear how to use it (although we both comfortably use this type of machine at home).

Stayed here two nights and found the hotel very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was great. My only concern was the traffic noise that started early in the am. If you are a light sleeper it might be a problem. It is good value for the money overwise.

We stayed one night in a street-facing room. The room was well-appointed with a large, comfortable bed, safe, flat-screen TV, and bathroom with stand-up shower and jetted tub. Unfortunately the jetted tub did not work which knocked one star off of the review. Front desk staff was very friendly and stored our bags for a few hours after checkout so we could explore the city a bit more before our flight. Breakfast was included and it was cooked to order, not a buffet--food tasted great. Room had two windows that opened to the street but was very quiet even with the road noise. We ended up leaving the windows open because after 9PM traffic is very light. Very safe and quiet area in close walking distance to many restaurants and two supermarkets. We paid 147000 COP (~$45 USD) for a room with a queen bed; price was about 30% cheaper for a twin bed.

I've spent one night on this hotel with an AUD 48 rate via Bookings.com and I was satisfied with the value for money. Got a street facing room in the 3rd floor and I must say the window isolates the noise very well. The room size and amenities are quite according to the rate but better than other same category hotels I've been in MDE. In my room 304 walls are kind of asking for a paint coat or a clean however the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean throughout. The rate included breakfast however this wasn't a buffet breakfast like other similar rated hotels in the area. However the portion were significantly sized and tasted delicious. The internet connectivity not the fastest but decently enough to work. I definitely repeat it as it was fair value for money.

We liked this hotel a lot. It is situated in the more quiet area Laureles where the universities are. From here you can take the taxi to all the of het areas very cheap and easy. Poblado is the place of all the hostels and much more busy and I would not recommand a place in the center because this is just too crowded. The rooms are clean and the beds are very good. There is also a nice roof garden with an infinity pool. Breakfast was a bit dull. We did the graffiti tour and went to guatape which is 1 1/2 hours by bus. Medellin is a very big and busy town which also shows the rough and tough way of living. We saw a lot addicted people walking around or just slumped on the middle of the streets.
