Before the pandemic, The Inntu hotel in Medellin, Colombia had a superb quality in cleanliness, service, and food. A new owner and new management took place in 2022 and turned a 4-star boutique hotel into a basic 1-star bed-and-breakfast. Not recommended at all!! The floors are damaged, I observed how a cleaning person dragged the bed sheets on the dirty floor and then put them back in the bed, while placing the pillows on top of dirty luggage and back in the bed, ew!! The buffet breakfast was terrible, not even continental or appealing whatsoever!! And the service is quite plain, uninspiring, and unmotivated!! Given 1-star to the Hotel Inntu is too much, and definitely not-deserving it!
We just stayed here for a brief visit to Laureles, Medellin. Price...great. Cleanliness outdoors, lobby, room ... great. Location ... awesome, right on a park with a Saturday morning Farmers Market, lots of shops and restaurants, greenery. My birthday coincided with the trip and staff (without my wife telling them) brought me a birthday cake! Only down side is the Spa. We couldn't book a massage and they wouldn't book my wife for just a simple facial, she would have had to buy a huge 2 hour 45 minute package, mostly of things she did not want. They were not flexible. I'm not sure that the Spa is run by the hotel. Everything else was GREAT. Oh, the restaurant is also fantastic...
I was incredibly disappointed with this hotel. The best thing going for it is the location. LOVED the location and it's really the only hotel in the area (Laureles). Sadly, I was disappointed with the facilities and the staff. To start, as soon as we walked in, the front desk lady was standoffish and it seemed like we were bothering her checking in. Then, when we got to our room, the air conditioning wasn't working- I asked for her to send someone up and they didn't. Again, I was clearly bothering her. Thus, the rest of our stay was so stifling (we were on the 8th floor and can't open windows) that we had to leave the door open at times just to get some airflow. The room was clean enough. Twice we weren't given any towels, which we had to ask for- which again, seemed like we were bothering the staff. The bed was huge, as was the shower. But the shower was in a room that sort of just flooded everywhere, including in front of the toilet. There was a safe and a mini-fridge. Breakfast was included, but was really awful. The food just wasn't fresh. We ended up going out for breakfast half our time there, which was disappointing. While we didn't use the pool (it says it's an extra charge), we stopped by to look one night and it's definitely not worth paying extra for. Overall, we absolutely loved the area- restaurants everywhere, safe, quieter and a great vibe, but I was incredibly disappointed in the hotel, especially the staff at the front desk. So unwelcoming.…
This is a great hotel. Amazing service, excellent customer service. It is clean. The location is just what you need: park is right in front of the hotel. Restaurants are all around. The area is so quiet, not overcrowded. Two supermarkets 5 min walk. I would come again here. I will defiantly come back here.
Great restaurant and attention from employees although the tv is small and has no smart apps like Netflix as many similar hotels have. Wifi is about 5mbps and cuts out constantly. Room service and cleanliness is fantastic
It took a while for registration, the elevator was wet due ti a water lick and the bed made a lot of noise when I moved. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant had a wonderful view of the Laureles Rotonda.
The hotel is in a nice location. The bartender and servers were really nice. Nice selection of Artisanal beers. After that it all goes down hill for me. Front desk staff are not welcoming, not very friendly, but instead, want to try and charge you for every little thing. The bathroom had mold. The bed extremely uncomfortable. No face towels. Cable was terrible. Could be much better.
I’m a world traveller for business based in California. First time to Medellin. Great city- friendly people, everyone seems happy here! Hotel has great restaurants within a 1min walk. Hotel staff are great. Friendly and observant. Overall great stay.
We stayed in the Inntu hotel for two nights. Our room was very modern and clean and we had a great view on Medelin from our room. The staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. We were very satisfied with the service. The breakfast was good and the price for the hotel was fair. We were very happy with the area, where the hotel was located in, there you can find a lot of good restaurants, bars and places where you can drink great coffee. We can definitely recommend this hotel. We have nothing to complain about.
I knew I wouldn't stay here again. It was confirmed at checkout. The manager tried to have her staff charge me 50,000 pesos for a dirty towel ($16 USD). I was there for 30 minutes trying to resolve the issue when I needed to catch a flight. I took the towel in the bathroom & washed it with hand soap & the stains came right out. I have pictures. Manager just kept sending messages thru her staff but would not come discuss with me in person. I am black & have dark skin. My make up is dark. However, I have stayed at hotels all around the world and have NEVER had this problem. Such a commotion over nothing. Extortion over a raggdy/used towel that didn't even dry me in the 1st place? When I went to droff off my laundry at a neighboorhood laundry, I was asked how I found the laundry. I told them I did a google search. I was told that normally when Inntu guest ask the hotel, staff tells them they don't know or that there are no laundries in the area so they can charge guests inflated prices. This is not professional conduct. Hotel staff is also the slowest when it comes to checking in and checking out. That is when there is no line &b they are only helping you. Towels are cheap and feel like sand. The bath towel and the floor towel don't feel or look any different. The bathroom door won't stay open so you are cramped & hot in a tiny bathroom. Room size is good. TV small but good once you figure out how to work it. I love Colombia but this can be a problem. Some people just try to rip you off and don't know anything about guest service. But hang in there. I have had a few bad experiences but also there are hotels that are great and I am a repeat vistor to Colombia. I just wanted to try a new area and hotel. The area is good. Homeless & beggars which can be off putting & they are persistent. But good restaurants and bars nearby.…
