It is very close to the Santafe shopping mall like within 5 minutes walk. And our room had a lot of sun in the morning, which I felt really good. But the chair was a bit low for the office desk so that I felt a little uncomfortable. Their main restaurant was a bit small compared to the number of the rooms. I think it would be better if the cook at the iron plate made fried eggs & omelets instead of buttered arepas.
On first glance the Hotel appears nice but once I took a shower I could see electric sparks next to me!!!!! I spoke to the reception who didn't care!!!! I then spoke to the Manger who advised that I could move Hotels if I wasn't happy!! I declined the offer as I was only there for a few days and didn't want the inconvenience of moving Hotels. The following day when I was showering I received a huge Electrical shock which left me on the floor in a agony!!!! I spoke to the the Manager and basically got the same response, if you want to move Hotel you are free to!!!!
Excellent. The staff is amazing. The breakfast has for everyone choices: bread, fruits, rice and beans, choices of refreshments. Stayed at a double room, it was spacious, clean. The towels and room was done everyday. For the hotel itself, take new pictures of the entrance, it doesn't make it justice. It is more beautiful in person.
You may arrive alone as the bell boy is quite distracted with ladies. Then you need to walk up the stairs your luggage till reception along a noisy lobby. Before a welcome you’re asked for ID. I’ll jump to the room. Nothing as noisy as this 201 room. All others away from Poblado Av were busy. Promised to have a western facing one next day. The only thing required to stop noise is a good window but, after a decade or two customers are not relevant enough as to install a good small window. Small room but just OK. Floor deteriorated. Fridge a bit broken, no diversity of beverages and no snacks. I’ll see hoe it goes tomorrow.
The hotel is very nice in general terms, people are very kind, especially at the restaurant. I wish everyone had had a name tag to thank one of the members of the restaurant who always made an effort to serve us really well. One thing that I'd suggest paying attention to is the description of the room and the pictures. I was supposed to be staying at a "superior executive" room, yet it looked pretty much like the basic room advertised in the hotel's website. After inquiring about this, they told me the furniture was very different between mine and the other room. It could be noisy depending on the room you get.
This is a beautiful hotel located in the upscale El Poblado district of Medellin. It is conveniently located across the street from the Santa Fe Shopping Mall and is close to many restaurants and a 24-hour gourmet grocery store. The rooms are clean and luxurious. Breakfast is delicious, and the staff are extremely courteous and kind. I highly recommend this hotel.
Only spent a couple nights here at the Porton but this was totally unexpected for the pricing. For how inexpensive it was, it was REALLY nice and the staff was nice as well. It's in the middle of a pretty decently busy area as well. There's a mall right across the street and supermarkets around as well. I really liked how clean it was and that the staff was so nice with helping with whatever they could. We didn't get to try the restaurant but that's alright, it looked ok. But don't expect a fully loaded bar.
The hotel is located in a really convenient location, room is spacious, excellent service from everybody and friendly people. The breakfast is a win situation, they offer colombian breakfast which is good if you are visiting colombia to know a bit about it. There is no soundproof but I was able to sleep normally, so no issue at all.
Avoid this hotel unless you want to stay up all night. It is located on a busy street and the rooms are not adequately soundproofed. I have stayed in all kinds of airport hotels and the noise is never a problem. Definitely avoid the rooms ending in "01". It is closest to the street. The next night, my room was changed farther away from the street, however, the air conditioning vent dripped all night & I was in no mood for switching rooms at 1AM. The rooms are fine, but the noise and service make it a terrible choice.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights. Staff was very friendly and rooms spacious and clean. It is next to a shopping mall, however not so close to everything else. You need to take a cab to downtown or El Poblado center (even though the hotel is located in el poblado, it is a 30 min walk to the place with all restaurants and nightlife). Breakfast was fine, though Colombian style ;)
