This place was recommended by some closed friends that were here on their Colombian trip and they loved it and so did we! Very neat and clean, great vibe, and amazing staff willing to attend you in every possible way. Our room was very cute facing a beautiful green backyard had cable TV, super spacios and the bed ...felt like a 5 star hotel really. Lots of outdoor sitting, spacious, quiet and delicious breakfast. Lots of bars and great restaurants steps from it and everything around you is green i mean really green !!!!

Honestly this was my first time staying in a hostel anywhere in the world. Had no expectations and moreover I was skeptical when my friends suggested that we stay at Maloka. I agreed to it and was one of the best decision I made.
Friendly staff, professional, relaxed atmosphere, clean and well maintained facility. I shall return. Thank you.

Loved the place, the hosts and service. I definitely recommend it to anyone who values great service like we do. The room was big enough and clean. The location is also very good (close to Zona Rosa).

This is the best hostel I stayed in Medellin. I ended staying for 5 weeks with the 3 other guys I was travelling with because it was perfect. The hostel has hot showers, private rooms, comfortable beds, kitchen, free wifi, fans, towels, laundry and a great bar at the front. Located in El Poblado it is very close to Parque Lleras and various other restaurants. All of the staff are awesome and speak English. Lavy is a fantastic owner and is more than happy to provide information about tours, local nightlife, restaurants etc. When I come back to Medellin this is the only hostel I will stay at.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Maloka Hostel in the Poblado neighborhood of Medellin.

The hostel itself was very clean and safe. The street-facing portion of the property is a nice cafe. It is very easy to walk from the hostel to Parque Lleras, Parque Poblado and the Poblado metro stop. The hostel staff was friendly and professional.

The location of this hostel is very good if you like bars and restaurants with loud music.
The are several great bars and restaurants within a few minutes.
This hostel has it’s own little bar where you can buy a beer for 3500 COP (€1,00).
The room:
We had a private room with bathroom which was on the second floor in the back so we didn’t hear much noise from the street. The room was really big with a large closet and a safe.
The bathroom had a big shower with hot water.
Rooms are cleaned daily.
The second day we found our window open while our stuff was in the room, we were sure we closed it when we left so the maid must have done this. Anybody could just enter our room, unbelievable!
The breakfast is very simple but the terrace where you can sit is very nice.

I liked the location for Maloka and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was good most of the time. Beyond that, I wasn’t really in to this place for a few reasons. There was no a/c, that was my miss. But it was too hot to be in the room during the day because the only window to open was the sliding door to the room. I didn’t want to leave the door open to relax or take a nap but it was too hot when it’s closed so I spent very little time in my room. It was fine at night once the sun went down. The coffee shop was nice but they played loud music all day so it was hard to go there to relax either. Overall, if you’re planning to just sleep here, it’s a good spot. If you plan on having any down time reading or relaxing, maybe go elsewhere. They also charged me more than what I had booked on hostelworld.com - I didn’t realize it as I was paying - so that was disappointing. I didn’t find this to be a great spot for meeting people either, the layout doesn’t encourage mingling.

I came with a friend and got a private room here and warm you it is very loud since it’s right on the street with bars and other hostels. The room was also very basic with no AC and shared bathrooms *shutters*

The plus side of this hostel is that we met great friends at this hostel. Everyone that stays here are mostly solo travelers so everyone is extremely friendly. There’s free breakfast too so you can meet new friends during breakfast.

If you want to make new friends and don’t mind sharing dirty bathrooms and loud nights, then stay here for a good time. We went out most nights so the noisy nights didn’t bug me much.

Most friendly place in a beautiful area in Poblado Medellin. The hostel is located in the heart of El Poblado, surrounded by great cafes and restaurants, close to the best pizza in town, Massi's Grab &Go. The rooms are spacious, very clean, comfortable with great hot showers. Great breakfast on the patio and relaxing areas inside. Best of all, the beautiful, very helpful and friendly people who will make sure that your stay will be perfect.

Hi Iona, They have a 24 hour reception as far as we know. As for the lockers they have a room where you can put your bags in and only they have the key. It feels like a very secure and decent place. If you have any questions, I think the best thing you can do is mail them. They are very friendly and their English is perfect. Hope you will have a nice trip, Matthias & Mieke

Sorry I can't help much with this question. It's been some time since I stayed at Maloka, but as with many hostels they may offer a special rate for a long stay if you ask them. Not sure it would be suitable for a long stay. It's quite small with only a small terrace. No private outside space or garden. It may get a little claustraphobic after a while. Great for short stays though!

The bus from the airport to medellin is 9000 pesos and the taxi is 60000 pesos. You must take the taxi if your flight arrives after 10pm because after these hour the service of buses doesn't work. Best regards from Maloka Staff
