I really enjoy the service of Laura the receptionist and the staff in generally really warm and helpful people. The relation between price and the place is accurate. Its a good option is your in a budget……….. The cleaning service is good too.
I stayed here for a month earlier in the year and loved it so much I had to come back. This city is amazing and this location is even better. They have amazing management and staff who speak English and are very accommodating. The breakfast hits the spot and the company around is wonderful. My mom (whose never stayed at a hostel before and was scared about it) had the best time ever.
Nice hostel that is well located in the tourist district of town. It's well maintained and the staff are very friendly and efficient. They told us all the good locations to eat in and the best routes to take into town. Would stay here again when we head back to Colombia!
2 empanadas, a tiny bowl of cereal, a fruit juice and cola cola cost 30.000 pesos. I could have had a full lunch meal in a nice restaurant for that price. I do not mind paying a fair price, however this is true gouging. My fault for not checking the price prior; dont make the same mistake.
Nice hostel, easy checkin, lockers big and door key for dorms. Good aircon and fan in some rooms. Shower hot and outdoor showers luke warm. Nice chill hostel with discounts to next door Happy Buddha partner hostel. A shame about some bed hopping (staff did not confront the person the person responsible and several different guests were moved on various nights) and could be more logical with bed allocation and swapping when extending nights with a bit more training and attentiveness in the future. All round good hostel and OK value for money. Thanks
This is a gem of a hostel. Coffee shop and lounge on first floor, cheap nightly rate, variability between a dorm style, private room, shared bathroom, or private br. It really is a nice little hostel that feels like home for your few days in Medellin (or few weeks, if I had my 'druthers). This place became a home for me and my partner for the 4 days we were in Colombia, and the staff was so helpful, friendly, and professional while being welcoming and warm. It was a great place, a great trip, and one of my favorite hostels to date (and that's saying something, as I've stayed at over 100).
Great location in the middle of alot of restaurants and bars. Very friendly and English speaking staff. Will definitly visit again. Greetings from "beautiful eyes & boyfriend" Ps. Always bring good earbuds on your traveling, I see alot of reviews about it being noisy from the bars. Thats what you can expect in the middle of a hotspot. Also the owner told us he is working on some more social areas and they seem to be developing every day :)
This is my second time in Medellín and in Maloka's Hostel and I can assure you (definitely say): it's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed! (Coming from a girl who has traveled around 30 countries!) Besides being absolutely clean, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, the hostel has a youth vibe but it's not noisy, it's also located in a great spot of Poblado, which makes it the best place to stay in Medellín! For me, the strongest point of this hostel is the staff. I felt extremely welcomed, I was traveling alone and hurt my foot, lost my phone, etc etc ( =/) in my previous destination, but the handmaiden Sandra helped me every day to set me a bandage. Staff's support was there all the time, special emphasis to Alejo (thank you for the stroll around Medellín <3) and Dani (thank you for the best conversations <3). The hostel's experience and the awesomeness of Medellín will definitely make me come back a third time! Thank you guys!…
I really enjoyed my stay at the Maloka Hostel in the Poblado neighborhood of Medellin. The hostel itself was very clean and safe. The street-facing portion of the property is a nice cafe. It is very easy to walk from the hostel to Parque Lleras, Parque Poblado and the Poblado metro stop. The hostel staff was friendly and professional.
The location of this hostel is very good if you like bars and restaurants with loud music. The are several great bars and restaurants within a few minutes. This hostel has it’s own little bar where you can buy a beer for 3500 COP (€1,00). The room: We had a private room with bathroom which was on the second floor in the back so we didn’t hear much noise from the street. The room was really big with a large closet and a safe. The bathroom had a big shower with hot water. Rooms are cleaned daily. The second day we found our window open while our stuff was in the room, we were sure we closed it when we left so the maid must have done this. Anybody could just enter our room, unbelievable! The breakfast is very simple but the terrace where you can sit is very nice.
