If I could leave a zero for this place I would. One of the worst all round hotels I’ve ever stayed in in my 38 years on this planet. Cold water on the first night in the shower, cockroaches everywhere (they have had this issue for a year). Bad attitude from most staff including breakfeast staff. Meaning we had to go elsewhere for breakfeast as we couldn’t get a basic cup of coffee without copious amounts of sugar. They moved us to another room after o kept complaining and I think the choice was done on purpose as it was incredibly noisy as they only have single glazing. WiFi is terrible considering they are trying to be a boutique hotel they cannot get the basics right. The only great thing about this hotel is the view. The food in the restaurant at night is cold and service is slow because they have one member of staff up there who was incredibly friendly. No one apologises and if you raise issues you’ll feel like a stuck record as they don’t care. In summary, don’t bother, pick elsewhere unless your happy with the above.…
The place to stay in Medellin if you need a reasonably priced room with above average amenities and first class service. Friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable staff coupled with clean, spacious rooms places this establishment a cut above the rest. Thoroughly enjoyed my first and all subsequent stays.
Had a reservation with this hotel, when I arrived, the reception area was full of a group of people checking in and I waited patiently as I was second in the queue. The lady proceed to ignore me as though I didn’t exist despite having four suitcases and proceeded to serve three others who came after me. If a hotel is busy, what they should do is hire more staff or call on a member of staff that isn’t occupied, common sense. After 30-45 minutes, I was furious and sought alternatives. Feared for my safety as I waited for a taxi outside to head elsewhere; different characters were trying to get my attention outside. Complained thereafter through their What’sApp contact but didn’t get an apology; sign of clear admission, so sought for another hotel. Don’t recommend it after a long journey when you need some urgent rest; as you will get treated pretty badly.…
The hotel is located in a dangerous area where is not possible to go outside by walking after the sunset. We didn't have the sheets in our bad, the magnetic key card was not working despite i told the receptionist to fix it. Bad smelling in the room because the shower is totally open. Room hot as hell. Breakfast under the expectative. We stayed there only 1 night instead of 3 because of the reasons above.
This hotel is very cheap, is clean, but the area where is located is horrible. Is in the center of the city, plenty of weird people around the door, in- and out people all the time. Is more like a motel that you can rent for hours.
Cafe at the rooftop has nice view of the bustling city centre, though lacks lighting at night. Sells beers and foods with no menu, cash only or pay at reception for cards. They served small asado (steaks) of chicken, beef or pork. Staffs were attentive. Location is close to Plaza Mayor, government buildings, and a large supermarket just across the street (closes at 9pm). This hotel does not deserve a 3 star rating, it is a 2 star hotel at best! There were no amenities inside the rooms other than a couple bar of soap. Bath towels are the size of hand towels. Oddly designed bathrooms with no flexible shower head and level floor (water will flood your room). Unreliable Wifi & no Gsm repeater inside the building. The business double room had home theatre system (w/ subwoofer), which is strange. Then had to listen to reggaeton out loud by a noisy neighbour. Hot breakfast were very limited, eggs and cheese arepas. There were some bread, two kind of fruits, faux juices, cereals, milk, and coffee. Our taxi driver told us that the area is pretty dangerous, so beware when you get out especially at night. Hotel does not have security personnel. Had to change rooms because the 1st room had AC leakage and no hot water. Odd AC position on top of the bed so the bed got soaked.…
Too loud at night by other inconsiderate guests, although it is centrally located, breakfast is poor quality.not recommended for families.with kids.it is closed to metro station and lots of street vendors
We stayed two nights in this Hotel and would never recommend to anyone to stay there Even if the hotel is quite central, he isn't in a "safe place" of Medellin - the WiFi isn't working at all in every room and isn't even working properly in the corridor. The worst thing in this hotel is definitely the noise (you can easily hear the snoozer of your neighbors and when they take a shower or go to the toilets....) there is absolutely no insonorisation in this hotel. The breakfast was ok tho and the room (even if the showers were transparent) were quite clean. Last but not least: we gave our clothes do wash and the price they gave us was completely wrong and they asked us to pay much more, what we refused after arguing with them (one of our pants came even back dirty) Well, all in one, we do not recommend to stop by this hotel.…
Okay to make it short: If you're ready for grumpy stuff and can handle it it will be great. The hotel and the rooms are very luxury, clean, modern and even with a whirpool! BUT the staff is very grumpy and pretty bad. That's possibly why there aren't a lot of people coming to this place what made them put the prices down. We now payed for two people 25 USD per night each. Modern shower, double bed, clean room, a whirpool next to the bed and breakfast included. For us it was perfect.
The hotel 47 Medellin Street is situated in the downtown area of Medellin, which is very busy. The room where I was staying was a decent room with a jacuzzi in it, however the noise from the street and the rest of the hotel could be heard easily in the room. The reception was always very busy and there wasn't much time to ask the receptionists for advice about what to do in the city.
