I did not like anything at all, when we arrived at the hotel they gave us the super dirty room, then they looked for us another, which I had not paid for, it was less quality and they did not even apologize. Inside the hotel there is no privacy, they went to clean and left the windows open, you can't sleep because people walk through the corridors all night and around five in the morning they start cooking and make a tremendous noise. The hotel needs better management, the staff never pay attention when you need something, when they cleaned they didn't even put towels. It was traumatizing for me. In my rating I give it zero out of ten.
Three men walked into my room during my stay unannounced while two of my roommates were undressed and hotel management won’t do anything about it!! I rented 9 hotel rooms and a conference room at Hotel Dorado for 30 leaders of my nonprofit org for 4 days. On day 2 of our stay a mysterious man bolted into our room unannounced and saw my roommate completely undressed. Why would someone outside of our party could have access to our room!? We went to hotel managers Joanna and Marco and they won’t do a single thing about it. They tell us it is not a big deal just “a matter of perspective”. Shortly after reporting this, Marco charged into our room with another man behind him completely unannounced, didn’t knock, just opened the door while yet ANOTHER girl was undressing and would not leave the room claiming he is trying to “fix the problem”. Marco and Joanna need to be fired! At this point all the girls in my organization were scared, some were crying, we all felt completely UNSAFE. The management was harassing us. They have camera’s on every floor and when we asked they claim there is no footage of these events (how convenient!!!) so now we are filing suit against them so they can release the footage to us. On top of all of this mental &emotional trauma my girls went through,I spent over $3,000 for hotel rooms, conference room, and hotel catering and the hotel won’t refund us for the services and rooms we didn’t use after the incidents. This would be THE VERY LEAST they can do.…
There are many faults but the hotel rooms were basic at most with a breakfast to match. The general hotel service is slow which is common for the region. If you want to go out every day this is a good hotel to travel from like a UK style b&b. If you want to enjoy the hotel experience with family and friends I would recommend selecting an alternative 5* hotel.
I am not sure how they chose the beds they did, but they were no better then the floor. It was like a piece of plywood. Our room also did not have a window which is somewhat common there. On the plus side it was very clean and well kept. In a good area for cheap and good food and nightlife. Very fun. We were there for a Sporting Tournament and it was an easy walk to the Stadium area every day.
They claim to speak English but not a word or it. I arrived at the hotel at 9:00pm after a All day flight, they gave me a room with NO WINDOWS and a broken air conditioning ( but they don't speak English and I don't speak spanish to explain to them ) People screaming in the hallways non stop until 4:30 am. No respect at ALL for others. Located in a verry verry loud street with a lot or creaps roaming around ( so don't expect to feel safe if you're a sole traveler or travel with kids! Beds feels like you're sleeping on the floor with a blanket under you. Rooms are super clean, and the front desk is guarded but that's the only positive point I found. I don't know how im gonna be able to stay here for the entire 8 nights stay I booked, if I don't get a refund. If you are here to party and plan to get drunk and don't care about bothering poeple when you get to you room at 4am .. .then this is the spot for you!…
The hotel itself is very nice and I really liked the rooftop bar. The views in Medellin are spectacular. What I was disappointed with was the service. From the moment I was checking in I already felt a bad vibe. On other occasions I observed the rudeness with other customers. I called to ask for extra towels and the response was rude saying I did not need more than I had.
The hotel is located in the Laurelles neighborhood of medellin. The location is safe and in the middle of a very popular nightlife street..."70th street " This is in a great location to walk ,eat, order drinks,or just relax a people watch. It's not the Hilton but it's not a hostel either In the middle . I would stay again
If you don’t mind some noise, this is a great hotel to stay at. Depending on the location of your room, it can get very noisy. My room was on the seventh floor with a balcony facing the street. I could hear a lot of noise even being on the seventh floor until roughly 2:30am. The room it self was good, just wished the bed was a bit more comfortable and there was more towels available. I did the breakfast at hotel one of the days of my stay, it was okay. The view on the rooftop is awesome and the welcome champagne at the bar upstairs is very tasty. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, bars, street food, and the train station. For the price you pay and the service/amenities you get, there are no complaints from me.
Booked an executive room through Opodo which advertised a soundproofed room on the top floor and a balcony/view. That's not what we got when we arrived and the hotel had never heard of Opodo. No refund of the premium we paid was offered, nor a solution. The hotel's point of view was that they had no dealings with Opodo. (Er, how did you get our reservation and payment then?!)
On a steet full -- full -- of hotels, this thing apparently is the only one that calls itself four star and that seems to be all it takes to attract a clientele. It is busy, noisy, crowded -- in no way conducive to a relaxed experience. Checking in and out is an ordeal. Not only does no one get their room before 3 pm check-in, they keep you waiting well beyond, meanwhile guests still haven't checked out. A bad show all around. Rooms show wear from heavy usage and rooms in front get the street noise. An abundance of hotel options on this street. No need to make an advance reservation, especially at this one.
