We had a downstairs room and it was clean and pleasant. It is not an extremely updated but it's inexpensive, a block from the beach and has free parking included. We've stayed at the more expensive place across the street and I really don't need all the amenities includes in that place compared to this. We usually only go for one or two nights and this fills our needs. There is a small refrigerator, a microwave and coffee maker. Our bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was adequate for an overnight. No blow dryer and not much in way of shower items but towels were clean and soft enough. If you're looking for fancy this is not for you. If you're looking for an inexpensive place close to the beach, this is it.
I visit the Silverball Museum each year, and this hotel is where I stay. The cons: dated, feels like you're back in the 70s, few amenities. The pros: inexpensive, great location, always available, ample parking (hotels costing 3x as much can have limited parking). If you want a hotel with a pool, restaurant, and bar, keep looking. If you want an inexpensive place with great location, this is my recommendation. (Tip: they have an ice machine in the office; they'll give you a bucket if you ask.)
Awful place do not waste your time or money staying here. Manager is nasty. Wanted a refund because the shower didn't work room was dirty sheets had hair on them.. had to pay for parking and never got the money back Manager cursed and extremely unprofessional called the cops on us when we were not even on the property can only have 2 people to a room regardless if you had someone stopping by. Manager accused my family of doing something that was not true. Cursed in front of my young children. Next time I will pay the money and stay at the Berkeley. Had to drive 3 hours home because every NICE hotel in the area was booked. What started out as a nice weekend went very bad fast. What a disgrace!!
I stayed here before and I have to say that is improving, the room was recently painted, clean and with clean sheets and towels. It is not luxurious but the location is great with free parking which is a plus in that area. Is they jus updated the curtains and bedspreads it will look better but we only use the room to sleep since we spent most of the time in the beach. Again is a clean affordable place in a great location and the owners are great people.
Yes this motel is extremely dated, rough around the edges and everywhere else and generally very grotty. But it’s clean, the beds and pillows are decent, ditto the WiFi and the parking is free (for a $10 per night, refundable deposit). Few people would go to Asbury to spend much time in their hotel room, so if you want a place to sleep that offers basic creature comforts at a rock bottom price, in a superb location 2 minutes to the beach, then this is a terrific choice. Or you can go to the adjacent Berkeley Hotel, which is admittedly nicer, but where you’ll pay three times the price, an exorbitant and greedy $45 per day to park, plus $25 per day for WiFi.
