A really nice place to stay in Santa Marta, you feel welcome from the moment you step in. I stayed in the dorms, clean bathrooms with very welcome showers (after sand in Teyrona and heat of the Ciudad Perdida hike). Kitchen facilities cleaned every day. There is a cafe with breakfast if you want some treats, but there is also...

Very nice and clean hostel in Santa Marta operated by a very kind and helpfull Iris couple. It has everything you need, is clean, has a very nice kitchen and is nicely located. We also stayed in another hostel in Santa Marta, but this one was nicer! One of the best hostels in Colombia so far.

I stayed at Aluna for rest and a shower before and after the Ciudad Perdida trek. I got my own spacious room for around $33 US -- a great deal. The restaurant where you can buy an inexpensive breakfast is cute, and the staff is very helpful. I recommend this place.

I ended up at Aluna totally by chance arriving on a late bus from Cartagena. I ended up staying 3 nights because the staff, especially Patrick, the owner, was kind and super helpful in giving me information about things to do around the city and region. It's in a nice location, easy to walk to the beach, center, and market...

Stayed here for 5 nights in total, as a base before and after the Ciudad Perdida trek recently. The hostel itself is nice, and our private room was fine (strange not to have any windows though). Our only problem is with the staff. The lady in the kitchen was very unpleasant in the mornings that we had breakfast their. Permanent...

My wife and I went there almost a year ago and we loved it. It is time for us to vacation again and we will be staying here. If you get a chance, chat it up with Jaime. He is very good at his job and gives great suggestions of where to eat and what to do. The rooms are...

We stayed just one night in Santa Marta (it's not much to speak of) but loved Aluna. The staff is very helpful and friendly and has great recommendations for the area. The room was clean and well priced. Breakfast was not included but is cheap and good. Free coffee upstairs too!

Well located simple small hotel. Clean room without window. A drawback is clearly within the tiny bathroom, not so clean (dirt, hairs...), and shower water goes easily outside its area. So the floor gets wet. Its door access does not leave any proper space to move in. Another drawback is that there is no hot water at all, and that...

We spent two nights, one before Cuidad Perdida, one after. They kindly stored our bags for us while we were away. Jim and his wife are a wealth of information and are very kind. Other staff members were a little indifferent towards us. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast we had at the cafe was good as well....
