We spent three nights here and enjoyed almost every minute. The room was perfect - very comfortable and mostly private. We loved the feeling of sleeping & showering in a treehouse, with the sound of waves crashing and all kinds of bird life. Meals were solidly good (breakfasts & dinners) - not mind-blowing but tasty and pretty healthy, too. Fresh...

What a gorgeous setting, just on the eastern edge of Tayrona (it literally takes 5-10 mins in the car to one of the entrances to the park). Communal eating was a nice touch and the food was delicious ! The room was very spacious as well as clean. Although the staff don't speak English, they were helpful and very understanding....

If you scroll through other reviews you'll get a pretty good idea for this place. In short, it is one of the most beautiful locations and a truly unique property. If you stay in the cabanas (the house right on the beach), it's a rustic experience. If you can deal with some inconveniences (which we considered minor), you will love...

So first things first, be clear these are two separate buildings, separated by a 30 second walk: the cabana and the maloka. But, they are very different in many important ways. The Cabana is the owner's grandma's original house and sits perched over the beach, looking out to sea. And you might think that is the natural first choice. But...

This place was stunning. We stayed at the maloka and had a beautiful view of the beaches, forest, and river. It felt unreal. The place was tranquil and it was great having dinner with the handful of the other guests every night. The place was friendly and cooked delicious dinners every night. However, the hotel only provides breakfast and dinner....

Looking at the hotel's video online can't prepare you for the magical feeling of the breeze coursing through the open living space, while you look out at the ocean or up to the mountains. Bedrooms are large and open-air (cold water showers so if you need pampering, look elsewhere). Meals are shared at one large table so you can meet...

This may be the most beautiful setting on the coast, located on a virtually private beach AND overlooking a large lake and mountains. What more could you ask for? Alligators? Barlovento has those too, in the lake! There are two types of cabins - the original Barlovento Cabanas with windowless 'cubbies' perched over the beach. The Maloko cabins are more...

This is a beautiful place with stunning beaches, a great vibe, really friendly hosts, sunrise and sunset views, delicious food... We stayed one night in Cabana where the room hangs over the sea and 2 nights in Maloka- both ate fantastic and we'd highly recommend anyone to visit. You can do day trips to Park Tayrona easily and visit another...

I though I could not find a better place to relax than my little paradize in the French Alps but I was wrong!! Finca Barlovento is a piece of paradize on earth, nothing to be compared with that I have experienced. The beautifully built house on a top of a rock is at the junction between a wild river and...
