Enjoyable stay off the 'strip'. Located just about 2 blocks from the Boardwalk area in AC the Courtyard is in a good location for access to the main hotels - Hard Rock as well as the boardwalk and restaurants. For about 1/4 the price of the casino stays the Courtyard is a great bang for your buck. The rooms look remodeled at some point in the last couple years and were very clean. Only complaints would be the rooms are on the small side and the bathrooms can use some upgrading. Check in was quick and efficient. I found it odd that the "Bistro" was not open on a Friday night during my stay...the front desk did note that this isn't associated with the Marriott at all, so they seem to operate on their own schedule and dime. Parking was safe and secure, the hotel even comped my parking fee for the evening. Received a welcome bag at check in for being a Platinum member which was a nice small touch. Would stay again while going to AC.

This hotel is about the good and bad of Atlantic City. The place is a decent choice for the area, especially for Marriott members or those wanting to avoid staying at a casino. But like all AC hotels, there are tradeoffs.

Pluses:
Good location near the boardwalk, beach and heart of AC action.
Staff were nice and helpful.
Price was good.
We were upgraded to a nice size room -- I guess due to Marriott Gold status, but not sure if that was why.
Gym was small, but empty early morning.
Parking was fairly easy just behind hotel.

Minuses:
The location can be sketchy, especially the parking lot and walk one block over to the boardwalk. Not unsafe, but keep your eyes open.
Room took forever to be ready.
Hotel in need of refurbishing. Elevators were old and not working well.
Lobby is not nice.

With some work, this hotel could be a solid choice. It is still likely much better than most nearby hotels, apart from newer casinos etc. For Marriott members, it's either here or the Sheraton.

We stayed here last minute on a Saturday after getting tickets to see the Counting Crows at the Hard Rock. Almost all hotels were unreasonably priced or motels not within walking distance. This was about a block walk from the boardwalk (lots of games, rides, food, etc.) and the Hard Rock hotel itself. Location was great!

As far as the hotel was concerned, super clean/up to date rooms. They had packaged goods for sale at the front of the lobby. No bar - but that was OK. Parking was also a block away and only $10 overnight, which is much more reasonable than any hotel parking!

Really enjoyed our stay here and for the price, you couldn't beat it.

Although it says Marriott on the sign, it’s certainly not up to Marriott standards. I came down to the Jersey shore to get away for a night with the wife. First trip since COVID-19, so my expectations were realistic. I also realize I’m in AC, not Vegas. I grew up in NJ and realize AC is not Short Hills, NJ but when I’m staying at a Marriott, I expect a few basic accommodations. When we arrived, the front desk said the card key machine was not working so he checked me in but could not give me a key to get to the room. Although annoying, I figured these things happens and decided I was not going to let it upset me. We asked if we could store our bags, got changed in the lobby restroom and went up to the beach to spend the day. 6 hours later, we return to the property to find a group of teenagers lighting off fireworks in the Marriott parking lot, where our car was parked. Again annoyed but figured I would just let hotel staff know when I got to lobby. When I arrived at the front desk to get my room key, I noticed that my bags were sitting right out in the open, not behind the front desk or stored in a luggage closet. Now is when I got upset and said to the front desk staff that we have been gone for 6 hours and my luggage was never stored, it was just left out in the lobby for anyone to take it. He just smiled, laughed, and said sorry, he just got on at 3:00pm. It was 5:00pm at that point so he had been staring at my luggage for two hours. 2 other hotel employees walked by and I said to them that there was a group of teenagers lighting off fireworks in their parking lot, and they said, yeah, we know, and kept walking. Finally, we have been in our room for 90 minutes and the temperature is reading 78, but it’s set at 67. It is unbearable hot in the room. We called to complain and it’s been about 30 minutes, still no one here. I like to stay at Marriott to get points but I would definitely not stay here. It’s not worth it!!!

The area around the hotel is sketchy. The parking lot is poorly lit and not secure.

My biggest issue was not having an accessible room after we were promised one. Prior to arriving at the hotel we called to verify they had accessible rooms with walk in showers; grab bars around the commode and higher commode. The hotel clerk assured us they had several which we could select from when we arrived.

This by far was a terrible experience. The vanity I could only see the top of my forehead and it was hard to use the sink. The beds were so ridiculously high that I couldn’t get in it and ended up sleeping in my wheelchair.

Also the room we had was near housekeepers closet and the noise awful.

Pleasant check in experience and the room was spacious, clean and up to date. All fixtures worked. Given the hot weather I appreciated receiving bottled water (and cookies!) at check in. Modern decor and presence of real glasses by the ice bucket made me feel like I was in a regular Marriott rather than the Courtyard tier.

Tip: bring your own lotion as they only have pump bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and 2 bars of soap.

Tip: Jitney for 2.50 stops at the corner. Driver should be able to give change for small bills. They come every 10 minutes but allow extra time if going to the Borgata for an evening show. Three jitneys passed by full before I was able to get one.

We booked this property for a night to see a show at the Borgata. Check-in was painless and we had a room on the 14th floor. There is parking behind the property at 10 dollars a night.

The hotel is right next to Harrah's and a few blocks from Caesar's. I wouldn't walk anywhere as the general location was pretty seedy. It was located about 2 blocks from the boardwalk. It was pretty windy and cold so we didn't venture very far and took an Uber from the hotel to the Borgata.

Room wise, there was definitely hints of smoke though the room itself was pretty clean.

I left my watch on my nightstand as we checked out. I did not realize until we were almost home in NY that I left my watch there (it was an Apple watch). I was able to track it and early in the afternoon it was still on the property but then later that afternoon it was about a mile off the property. Goodbye watch.

I called the property and they said they checked with housekeeping, they checked the service cart and spoke with the person who cleaned the room. They denied everything and was told there was nothing that could be done.

It's my own fault for leaving my watch behind but be wary of staying here, I would not recommend it!

Stayed here in late June 2020. We needed a getaway especially after being on lock down for 3 months due to Covid 19. Since we live in central Jersey , we choose not to leave the State. The Marriott was conviently located by the Boardwalk which was a plus. Restaurant and bar were closed due to current health crisis which was not a issue. Staff were great in handling any issues when I address it with them. Our room was on the 16th floor and was quiet. Very clean and comfortable. We elected no room service because of covid. Since it was only the two of us. If we needed supplies such as coffee staff were very helpful in that respect. They provided information on restaurant in area that did outside dining and take out. Which definitely a plus. Masks were required while on public areas by Guests and staff. Which every one did abide by. Several hand sanitizer station available. Only real issue was one elevator out of 3 was out of order. Overall we had a great time definitely would recommend

My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in AC. We're Bonvoy members and wanted to stay 2 weekend nights close to the Casinos, but the Courtyard only had one night available. So our second night was booked at the Sheraton. The hotel is a nice building in a dubious neighborhood. Front desk was nice and friendly. To get to the unsecured parking lot we had to drive down a sketchy alley. As we walked toward the back lobby, the smell of pot was overwhelming. People (on property) smoking in their cars by the back door. Thankfully, we did not smell marijuana inside the hotel, like some other reviewers had complained about. The room was nice and clean.
I'm surprised my wife's screams didn't wake up the entire hotel at 3am. She saw 2 roaches in the bathroom. Our room was on the fourth floor. The first thing I did was call the Sheraton to see if we could check into our room right then. Nope. All booked. We didn't call the front desk right away as we didn't want a commotion and bug spray at 3 am in our room. We left the bathroom lights on and blocked under the door with towels.
My wife wouldn't use the shower the next morning due to the slow drain, thinking roaches would be floating up from the drain. I actually did see that in a movie once. "Creepshow" with EG Marshall. Anyway, I informed front desk the next morning. The staff is excellent by the way. Marriott's guest assistance team ,however. couldn't care less. They asked me what happened in an email. I replied and never heard from them again. So now you got my review for all to see.
In this hotel you get two kinds of roaches. The actual bugs and whatever spent joints are left laying around. No way this should be a 40,000 point category 5 hotel.

We frequent Marriot hotels and are members of the rewards program. I trust the Marriot name and decided to book our beach vacation here as our first time traveling since the pandemic as I figured it would be a safe bet . When we checked in the first room we were given smelled of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk who promptly told me they would give us a new room. Hassan at the front desk was polite , apologetic and accomedafed us immediately . We got the keys to the second room which did not smell of smoke. At first glance it looked fine but upon looking around further I noticed the sheets were stained and dirty and the bathroom had a broken tub stopper and several items were broken and worn around the room. Everything looked dingy . Considering the current situation with the pandemic we decided we weren't comfortable staying here and luckily we were able to get a room in another hotel. After making sure there was availability at another property we took all of our bags down the to front desk and told them we wanted to check out. They didn't give us a hard time at all and we weren't charged anything . It seemed as though this wasn't the first time had heard these complaints. Also the rear entrance and elevator area smelled of marijuana and this hotel is in a very rough and what appears to be unsafe area. Not at all what I am used to when it comes to a Marriot , avoid at all costs.
