Do not choose this place! Hidden fees. Have to pay early on the morning of arrival even if you choose "pay at the motel". RUDE! Bed bugs bit me and my daughter. Roaches in the bathroom. Dirty floors. Smelled like smoke and marijuana everywhere. The people hanging around appear to be on drugs. There are broke down vehicles in the parking lot. Needs updated bad! There was a hole in the bathroom floor and a small hole in the wall by the air conditioner. The seal was gone under the door. The door wasn't shutting properly. There was only a chain on the door for safety. I felt very unsafe. The tv wouldn't work. There was no refrigerator or microwave. This is a terrible place! They charge for parking!!!!
Well, I'm not sure where to start. After checking-in and getting to my room i realized that i had made a terrible mistake. The main door knob was broken, the bed comforter had cigarette burn holes, the bathroom faucet produced "brown/rusty" water, the room smelled of smoke and was just in bad, bad, condition. I would never in good conscience rent a room like that to anyone at any price. I expressed my frustration and tried to get a refund with no luck - the guy was TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Don't jeopardize your safety and waste your money here....!
We stayed at this "hotel" luckily for 1 night only. Payed 200$. The smell in the room was nauseating. Everything: doors, walls, carpet, curtains, furniture, amenities were extremely old, cracked, rusted, stained.. The carpet was sticky. The glass in the microwave door was broken, which potentially poses safety concern. Bathroom door was missing a handle and did not close. Multiple long black hairs on the pillow (about a dozen). Electric outlets broken in the bathroom. My question is how the owner even dares to offer this to people?. This should never cost 200$! Best ever price is 50$ - no more. The manager refused to let us leave the car at the parking lot for a couple hours in the morning unless we pay 15$ fee (regardless that parking lot was completely empty).
Not that bad you get what you pay for but nice location and you do get a decent view near the water. The place is run down and could use some renovating and make over but I only stayed for a day so I can't complain
Smelled like smoke and mold. Mold in bathroom water marks on doors NASTY. Had my debit card not been charged already we would have left. We did not feel safe and leaned the chair under the room to room door. Lights near bed didn't work. The refrigerator was nasty.
So many absolutely terrible reviews. This was one of the cheapest places to stay for the weekend. No bedbugs, room was clean, shower, fridge, microwave, tv. Perfectly fine for what we paid for-you want to party and have a decent place to crash that's also close to the boardwalk then it's a good deal. Just don't expect some Tropicana or Taj Mahal and you should be fine.
We stayed just one night on August 20th, 2016. When we first went into the room, the musty smell was unbearable. The room was dirty. The refrigerator did not work. The light in the bathroom did not work. There was a hole where the smoke detector was suppose to go. There were bugs walking around in the bathroom. There was black mold on the walls. Never again. I am surprised that this place is even open to the public.
We only stayed at the Downbeach Inn because we were not familiar with the area, and from the map, this property seemed convenient to the Atlantic City boardwalk, and was less expensive than the branded hotels (Caesar's, etc.). Interestingly, the name of this property had recently changed from the Rodeway Inn to the Downbeach Inn, so I wasn't able to find much info on the Downbeach Inn. After having stayed here, I feel the name change is to try to disassociate the property from the bad reviews listed under the Rodeway Inn. And I feel the bad reviews are warranted. As soon as we entered the room, we were hit with a foul odor. Then I looked at the box spring (visible as the comforter wasn't long enough to cover it), and the box spring had a hole in it. Things went downhill from there. The inside of the shower curtain was covered in mildew, everything in the room was not only outdated, but in serious need of repair. The comforter and mattress pad had cigarette burn holes in them. And I pulled down the sheets to get into bed and the sheets were not only filthy with black marks all over them, but there was a long brunette hair on the sheets (I am blonde and my companion has short gray hair), so this hair definitely did not belong to us. I was very grossed out and felt the sheets probably hadn't been changed from the previous guest. We went to the front desk and were given another set of sheets and we changed the sheets ourselves. I've included some photos which depict the condition of our room (#102). Some things I liked...there was plenty of free parking at the hotel and at lots directly across the street. We were also one block from the boardwalk/beach. Please note that the southern end of the boardwalk closest to this property is very deserted and the buildings are vacant, so there's not a lot of foot traffic at night. I would not recommend this hotel. Instead, spend a little extra to stay closer to the activity on the boardwalk in a better-maintained hotel.…
HORRIBLE never again!!!!! Got a piece of glass in my toe. The room smelled, outdated, sheetrock outside next to window. Room was right next to dumpster. If I didn't have company come to visit I would have checked out. Shady people in the room next to me...fighting going on.
horrible stay, room is smell , cricket TV with tape on it, shower licking all the way to sink , black hair on the bathroom wall, bathroom door broken, terrible view of garage, no cable, cost $346 a night, no AAA discount, consolation fee $346 ,the best price for them they should bag you to stay there, we stay because of last min deal of Memorial Day, nothing was available
