We stayed at Alandaluz for 4 nights in November - the cloudy/rainy season. Although there is a small pool, the weather was much too cold for us to use it or even to swim in the sea. The main building (restaurant and communal area and reception) is a beautifully constructed bamboo and palm leaf structure open round the sides. The...

I spent a month on a volunteer there. Basically it is an ecovillage built entirelly on bamboo and their athmosphere is so special it makes the Hosteria an ideal place for honeymoons in that zone of the country. They've got a restaurant specialist on ecuatorian food. There's a dish called "Viudo" ( widow) served inside a bamboo sprout...really unique. The've...

Alandaluz is an amazing, peaceful place. I stayed in a 3-room cabin with hammocks, a composting toilet, a comfy bed for $29, which is more expensive for Ecuador, but well worth the peace, quiet, beautiful beach, landscape, pool, etc. I would go back there again!

The cabañas are very nice, but expensive, the cheapest at 29. The grounds show signs of neglect, and the beach has litter on it only about 30 metres from the path out from the complex. I didnt find it a friendly place at all, it felt empty and the service wasnt that good either, considering what you are paying. The...

This hotel is beautiful, was clean, interesting, eco-friendly, etc. Very cool place to stay. It feels like everything is open to the jungle and bats will literally fly in overhead while you're eating breakfast in the dining room; however, this means the human animals can also come in. I almost hate to write this review, because I know it will...

We were disappointed because they are proud to be an eco lodge. There is nothing eco about this lodge (eg. energy saving lamp only at the reception, they sell corals and shells in the shop ...). The service was poor and a general lack in motivation was obious. No internet but a contract with the german mass tourist agency Neckermann....

We found this to be a unique beachfront accomodation ~ in general we found the resort to be very clean and well kept and trying hard to do the right thing environmentally speaking. All staff we had contact with were lovely and helpful. the pounding of the surf created a wonderful environment and the food, while perhaps not fabulous was...

Even though the place overall was very nice, I had the worst experience in the Santa Rosa cabins. There`s no privacy at all in the bathroom (no curtains in the windows), and we had rodents eating on whatever they could find (including one of our backpacks), I even found excrements right next to our toothbrushes. It`s a shame, because we...

The rooms are comfortable, and the grounds are nice. There is a small pool and private beach, with proximity to Machalila National Park. The restaurant's vegetarian options for lunch and dinner are limited and not very good. I would eat off site. The staff has very limited options in arranging activities, and we were not able to do some of...

After looking at several different properties in the area we cruised in here to check it out. We were very pleased with the grounds, location and the rooms. Three of us stayed here for 5 nights, two of us in the tall building close to the beach and one of us in a cabin behind us. The staff was friendly,...

“THE CABINS! Close proximity to the pool, restaurant, and beach but in it's own quiet little section formally owned by Alandaluz. They have been screened, curtains and glass block in bathrooms, most have new showers and bathroom fixtures. BUT sleeps 4 MAX!”
