1st – 15th September 2008 The Sofitel Taba Heights is situated on the Sinai Peninsula sandwiched between the barren Sinai Mountains and the clear turquoise water of the Red Sea rich with a colourful variety of fish and coral. With views across the Gulf of Aqaba to the coast of Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia it is an isolated retreat... More

We visited the Sofitel for two weeks during August & September. This was our second visit to this hotel and would highly recommend it. I cannot believe the bad reviews on this site. What do people expect? All hotels are busy during peak season and in my opinion the staff did an excellent job of keeping the hotel clean and... More

My daughter and I have just returned from the Sofitel and we were dreading it because of the reviews we had read here. I even contemplated changing my hotel before departure because of the damning reviews. However, we though the hotel was fabulous - a real easy hotel that provides everything you need for a totally relaxing hotel. This was... More

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Sofitel and had a brilliant time there. It was our 2nd visit to Taba Heights, as we stayed at The Marriott next door last year and although we were pleased with The Marriott, we opted for the all inclusive that the Sofitel offers, as The Marriott/Egypt in general can... I stayed at the Sofitel last week and went with a friend who had stayed at this hotel in April 07, which was lucky as the comments I read before i left, did worry me. However, I have no idea what people had to complain about. I work within the hotel industry, so I can be fairly critical and have... More

We chose the Sofitel as it was all inclusive and well located. The hotel was very clean. Food was good and the sea was fansastic for snorkelling. We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Egypt and chose the right hotel. It has two pools one freshwater which was cleaned out every other day, both pools are very nice. Its easy... More

Just returned from our first experience of Egypt & although the hotel itself was lovely the holiday was spoilt by the restaurant (certainly not 5*) and the use of disgustingly smelly water to irrigate the gardens morning & evening - amazed no one else has mentioned this. According to our rep its recycled toilet water, great idea in hot countries,... More

Some of the reviews on here are unfair on the Sofitel. Probably not a 5 Star in UK Standards nearer to a 4 Star but the facilities alone help its rating. We were a family of 5 and yes you did have to queue sometimes for a Table in the Restaurant ( never more than 5 or 6 minutes )... More

I went to Egypt with my beloved wife for our honeymoon. Our main reasons for going were the affordability and the fact that we wanted to see some of the sights. This hotel caught our eye and we booked a two week stay. The good points: The hotel itself is beautiful. Gorgeous lobby area and lovely grounds, with well looked... More
