Landed and Kashmir Alone not knowing a soul and Mr Firdouse from Blooming dale was the friend I made . The Blooming Dale owner was so helpful and friendly . He made me feel at home and gave us yummy food too. The Rooms were very cozy and comfortable and very affordable. And the Hotel had a nice homestay feel and has the wooden house touch. He picked me from the airport got me a safe Shikara ride since I was travelling alone and arrange for our visit to the Adhi Shankara temple .. He is a excellent host . Be sure you stay there at least once when u go to Srinagar . It is a 2 min walk from Dal lake and very reasonablely prices. .

This magnificently maintained place is located at a walking distance of 5 mins from the Dal lake. Being located in the center of the city, it is quite well placed to visit and explore important places within Srinagar. Ambience wise the place is very well decorated. You will get a really homely cozy feeling while entering the lobby itself. The rooms are very hyginic and very well decorated. The host is very friendly person. Treats the guests really well and provide in detail information with respect to the touring and food places in Sringar. He goes to extra length to comfort the visitors to his place. We found the toiets to be very well and cleanly maintained. The ambinece is really well maininted even in the toilets. Overall the property gives a warm feeling of european decoration. This is probably due to the ower being living in europe for past 20 years. We arrived at 11.30pm in the night and the host offered us one of the best Kashmiri Kawa drink consisting of Saffron, Almonds, honey, ginger and water. He was quite helpful to offer us bigger room than the one we had booked since it was already vacant. Would definietely recommend this place to stay when anyone is visiting Srinagar.

I stayed at Bloomingdale's for a few days while traveling in India on business. The rooms and service are impeccable, with top tier food and drink. Mr Firdaus was an excellent host, showing me the sights of Srinagar in a relaxed and casual atmosphere but with excellent knowledge and, owning to my background in the tourism industry, a very appreciated degree of trade insight. He also assisted with my onward travel, organising a professional driver for my trip through Kargil to Leh. The handicrafts available here are equal to any in any alpine resort like Chamonix in France - amd presented professionally with no pressure. I look forward to returning here in future!

‘Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast, hami asto, hamin asto, hamin ast’ Don't need tk explain the above but I feel the firdaus in above verse is the firdaus @bloomingdale..... The owner, the caretaker, the friend, the guide the all and everything who can make the difference to a trip like Kashmir where you really need someone who you can speak to and someone who can guide you.... While Bloomingdale is a reasonable place to stay very near to Dal and it's not a starlike property but Firdaus makes it one for you. We were there in Kashmir from about 24th for about a week and kept Srinagar as a centre place to go around Firdaus completely designed aur trip and at a few places he came with us personally to take us around and explained the very minute details of the culture and places, made a lot of difference. Food was ok and very personalized and when it's -8 outside makes you feel perfectly home. Overall a fantastic trip differentiated by Bloomingdale and Firdaus. Thanks a lot Firdaus, we will see you back for sure, in some other season. My best wishes. A home away from home is perfect description for Bloomingdale Pradeep
