We stayed in Prince of Kashmir Luxury Houseboat for 3 nights. This was our 4th trip to Srinagar, Kashmir and I must say it was best houseboat experience ever. It was a pleasure to coordinate with Wasim Bhai who help us through the booking process and also help us in arranging for a car to Gulmarg and to Leh. Tariq Bhai was a perfect host at the houseboat. He took care of every small details to make sure that our stay was comfortable and worry free. The interior of the houseboat was made of beautiful carved woodwork and had all the modern amenities. The best part was the food which was served during dinner and breakfast. For all nights Tariq made sure we tasted the authentic Kashmiri wazwan dishes. I would strongly recommend this houseboat for a stay. If and when I visit Kashmir again I will definitely stay in Prince of Kashmir Luxury Houseboat.…

We planned a trip in May 2023. It's the worse experience possible. The beddings are not hygienic. The food is pathetic. Service is slow. They charged us a premium price. They don't have a menu so if you order even extra water bottle than the two bottles per day there is extra charge. We asked for snacks as we had just arrived, they were not prepared to serve anything. After some time they served half cooked potato pakoras They asked us to.arrive for dinner at 8 pm and while we waited till 9 pm, they served the foreigners prir to us. The food was not having any salt. It seemed stale. They served mutton balls, dal, gobhi sabzi, chicken, rice, roti. Chicken was inedible. The only thing we could eat was dal. Never book this

We spent 4 nights on the Prince of Kashmir. It was all I had hoped for, and more. Having read recent reports of how badly polluted Dal Lake is and of the persistence of the boat hawkers, I was worried initially. Needlessly. The waters of the main body of the lake are clear enough to see through. And the boat hawkers are politely (and with humor) just trying to earn their livings. The houseboat is full of olde worlde charm and our room, the Shareen Suite, was furnished with a very comfortable four-poster bed. We also had a dressing area and an en-suite shower room, with a power shower and lots of hot water. The free wifi was reliable; in-room a/c worked perfectly, tho we often had the screened windows open. The dining room and lounge were large and nicely furnished. Our room and the entire boat were spotlessly clean. Tariq and the team were warm and friendly hosts, always willing to provide a solution to any request - immediately if not sooner. It was lovely to sit on the front deck in the early morning or evening to watch the world float by and gaze on the natural beauty that surrounds Dal Lake. Our stay would have been perfect apart from three things: a leaking shower tray, which Tariq tried unsuccessfully to repair; the lack of wifi in any of the common areas; the dinner menu - our main course all 4 nights consisted of paneer, we would have welcomed greater variety and either naan or chapati for breakfast. One suggestion would be to add ceiling fans in the bedrooms and common areas. This could reduce electricity use in the spring and fall while still keeping guests cool. We enjoyed our shikara excursions for sightseeing and, very early, to view the floating vegetable market - which this early in the growing season was not that busy. Still it was very interesting to see how the local people live and birdlife was abundant. Yes, trash floats in the backwaters of the lake and there is an algae problem. Getting tourists and local people to put their rubbish in the bins will sort out the first problem; the second problem is more difficult, as it arises from use of inorganic fertilizers by the largest industry in the region. The government say they are seeking solutions and there is now a moratorium on building new houseboats. Fingers crossed Dal Lake will continue to be a tourist generation for years to come.…

Very good experience. Well maintained Houseboat. Staff is excellent. Food was also delicious. Worth a Houseboat experience in Kashmir..Views are spectacular. Shikari ride also is much fun. The staff in Houseboat is prompt, helpful and made our experience memorable.
