We had travelled to Leh on a sudden whim! And in the brief planning period The Indus Valley seems to be our best option.

One, proximity to the market
Two, pictorially very nice
Three, good reviews...... so we booked
Four, very responsive call back from the hotel for information and suggested support

With much trepidation (as some of the previous experiences on Booking.com listings weren't up to the mark) when we reached, we found this to be totally something that you would want to bet your booking on! A very warm welcome - a warm room (they keep the heater on 24/7 in winters) at -8 degrees, and a very clean and well appointed room. We opted for a double room with balcony - and it was just right, if you wanted to feel the crisp freeze after some time in the warm room!

As it was peak of winter, there weren't many guests - but that did not even once stop the efficient housekeeping or the kitchen to respond in real quick time. After reading many reviews about slow service and very slow catering on orders - we, even for once, did not have to call back a second time for anything with either guest services sections.

The hotel arranged for us a short tour to some of the places of interest - and were very careful in selecting for us what would be ideal for our short-stay - keeping in mind the need for acclimatization.

Food was alright - we just had dinner, as we were out mostly in the market and on a day tour. While slightly expensive - it is not outlandish, understanding that in winter the logistics of supply is not easy. Breakfast was sumptuous - no questions asked!

Overall, it was a great on the spur decision to pick The Indus Valley - no complaints....only kudos....

After booking the flight to Leh, being a Marriott rewards member I started searching for a Marriott property. I was disappointed not to find any.

Ended up doing a bit of research on other hotels before homing on to The Indus Valley (TIV) hotel. In retrospect, I am super delighted that there was no Marriott property in Leh.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days in June 2024 and loved every moment of our stay at this property. Right from my experience in booking the room until our departure time, everything that the TIV staff did, was saturated in hospitality, hospitality and hospitality.

After booking online, I had some questions which were not only promptly answered via email, but the front desk team member - Stanzin Palkit - also sent a text via phone and also called me directly to resolve any queries that I may have had. This is called going above & beyond with a customer.

Check-in was smooth with warm smiles. We enjoyed the welcome "kawa" - spiced hot tea. Balbeet - the concierge/bell boy - was prompt in escorting us to our room.

The front desk team that we encountered (for various reasons) over the course of our entire stay - Sonam Stensing, Tani, Rigzing and also Palkit - all were super helpful.

TIV has a great bar (Tribes), where Rohit always welcomed us with a smile, while preparing our beverage of choice.

Their onsite restaurant (Silk Route) gives a cozy feeling. The restaurant staff - Stewardesses Yangchan Sherpa & Carien Rai, Exec Chef Harendar Bhat with his team of three other chefs and Narender (Nick aka Captain) - always made us feel at home, whenever we stopped by for a quick breakfast or a late dinner. The food prepared was always awesome and the staff was always ready to serve us with a smile. We also observed other guests being demanding / difficult but they always served with a smile!

All in all it was a wonderful experience. TIV hotel's staff members take pride in their work and are extremely customer service oriented. They were always ready to look after our comfort proactively.

The property is also conveniently located close to The Leh market (8 - 10 mins walking distance), which has a good selection of local restaurants.

We will definitely be staying at The Indus Valley hotel, the next time we visit Leh! Thank you TIV team!!

The Indus Valley in Leh offers a remarkable stay with its gorgeous interiors and spacious rooms that showcase solid wood craftsmanship. Located centrally, it provides easy access to local attractions which were just round the corners. The food was full - flavoured especially their chicken tikka which was to die for and also their thupka. We found it a comfortable and memorable experience, making it a great choice for travelers in Ladakh.
I would especially like to thanks Miss Tani who was kind and gentle human being. And a special thanks to the one in cherry red dress at the restaurant ( One who had short height and also come for room service ) she was humble❤️.
Next time when I visit Leh I will surely stay at the Indus Valley.

The property is nearest to Leh market, clean linens, luxurious bathrooms, ample parking space, awesome valley view, courteous, warm n caring staff, Daisy n Rigzen curated our whole trip and provided us the best possible hotels in nubra and pengong. The chauffeurs are well behaved and guided us throughout the tour. Mr. Paul advised us well for the transport. Rohit, nick and yangchen served us very well @ the silk route kitchen. Highly recommended hotel to hv a luxurious experience.

I stayed for three nights. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were clean and neat. No minor or major issues were noticed. We get a 24-hour hot water supply. Mr Kiran and Stanzin were excellent! It is located just 400 metres from the city market. The food was delicious but a bit pricy. One of the things I liked about this hotel is that they provide drinking water in a jug instead of plastic bottles. This is a good initiative as it will prevent plastic waste.

We were pretty happy that we could get booking in this peak season and paid a hefty amount. UNDERSTAFFED!!!
Upon arrival check in took about 90 minutes as the room was not ready by 3:30 pm. There was only one room service staff serving the entire hotel. Nobody was picking up phone at the reception or at room service at around 9:30 pm.
Breakfast was below par for the price we paid.
17000 a night so OVERVALUED.

Hotel is one of the premium hotels of Leh City.
Gorgeous interiors, Soild Wood all over. Nice spacious rooms.
Centerized Heating
Friendly and supportive staff
Do not expect much from Food taste, but rest is ok.
Food menu is also limited
Service is little slow, you need to wait for 15-20mins for "any" room service.

I stayed for 5days in the property and I recommend to stay here..
Oct rate is 4k per night but otherwise this will cost you 12k-15k.

My husband and I had a brief 1 night stay at the lovely Indus Valley Hotel Ladakh
The staff was excellent. Very professional and friendly, a balance which is often difficult to reach, they accommodated our every request. All the safety measures with regards to Altitude was on point, we felt completely secure during our stay. The breakfast is delicious, with wonderful variety.
The location seemed perfect for us to do a bit of casual exploring around the area. It was near many of the major sights and great shopping.
Special mention goes to the Management of the hotel who upgraded our room to a premium one as he wanted us to experience the best in our short stay.

The stay at Indus valley was quite comfortable and luxurious.
Their staff are the best very caring very prompt 24/7 , we felt very happy and satisfied with their hospitality.
This season I.e winter Ladakh was our dream to come and explore Ladakh and in around places . But due to short vacation dates we couldn't get enough time to acclimatize we flew down to Ladakh , hotel people warned us to acclimatize and next day onwards our trouble started with low oxygen gastric issues and chest tightness .
Midnight when the weather was rough Ms Palkit was prompt enough to help us to get a taxi arranged to nearby govt hospital and arrange oxygen cylinder for us in room and the warmth of the restaurant people was very good 👍. Lastly they even arranged a fortuner the driver and the car we felt safe and experienced to drive to khardunglah , Over all we are leaving this place satisfied.

Liked · Food was the only good factor.

Disliked · The rooms were not clean, and they were dirty when we checked in, and still, it took them an hour and a half to clean that too after several reminders. The bathroom shower cubicle did not have a seal under the glass door, and water just gushed out. The bathroom was wet until we were there, and it never got fixed. The lobby had a leaking ceiling, and it was a mess. Internet is another issue on the 3rd floor that does not work. Air conditioning is a big issue here in the middle of the night, the AC shuts down, and they have to reset it constantly. The reservation number mentioned on the hotel website keeps ringing and is never picked. When the hotel says all rooms are nonsmoking, please don't believe it. There was a group of guys next door, and they were smoking with their room doors open, and I could feel the smoke and noise coming into our room in the middle of the night, even after several reminders about the noise issue. I had to leave my bed at 2:30 am and request them to keep the noise down. Overall, the experience was not that great, especially when you are paying the price of 5-star hotel. However, I liked the front office staff, who understood my frustration and offered us a complimentary dinner.
