A weird sounding name for sure, the hotel came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. The hotel gives the feel of a traditional house more than a commercial property. The rooms are lovely with amazing views. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing. We found the dining choices a little limited but the preparations were good. We loved the furniture...

Interesting property, but with very somber, unwelcoming furnishings, ambiance and service. We do not think any staff member ever smiled. Even though the weather was sweltering, during the entirety of our stay, throughout the lobby area, none of the ceiling fans had even been turned on to the discomfort of all. We enjoyed staying so close to the old city,...

The hotel has great rooms, a great view and is a great place to relax and unwind. Breakfast can be taken outside and the local delicacies for breakfast are a welcome change. The views over the harbour are of all types of ship from canoes to containerships and wildlife ranging from dolphins to sea eagles. The hotel is in an...

We were really excited about our stay at this property. Infact, we were booked at another CHG property, and chose to upgrade our stay to Brunton Boatyard because we wanted a really nice holiday. For the price tag, it doesn't quite live up to it's value. The room is fine, but we were offered a room right next to swimming...

Dear Sir, Thank you for your candid feedback about our hotel on this august forum. We understand your frustration about our hotel stems from the fact that we did not allow visitors in your room. To ensure the safety and security of all our guests staying with us, we do not allow visitors into area's other than lobby and food...

Wow what a splendid place. Nor really colonial but you get that feel. It's amazing and luxurious without all the shiny modernness. I would criticise the outside breakfast area, rather scruffy, and the breakfast wasn't great. The dinner restaurants were top notch, both the seafood special and the Indian special. Really very good food. I would only criticise that a...

Hello Ma'am, Thank you so much for your candid review about my hotel on this august forum. We've taken cognizance of your feedback while you were here and have now started a cold buffet as well, so that the wait time for hot food is reduced considerably. We have plans to relocate the outside breakfast area to the pier, which...

Rooms very well done. Classic feel. Great location. On the water and close to shops and some great restaurants. The bar/dining area downstairs is rather lacking in atmosphere. We chose to have our breakfast outside. But oh dear, they are so missing a trick. The outside are could be lovely. Instead there are rusty rickety chairs and filthy sun umbrellas....

Hello Ma'am, Thank you so much for your candid feedback about my hotel on this august forum. While we are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us, we have also taken due cognizance of your breakfast experience. This is a long overdue review (we stayed in Oct 2016). Staying at the Brunton Boatyard is taking a step back in time - the hotel has been lovingly outfitted with the decor reflecting the bygone colonial era. There are only 2 suites which have beautiful views through to the pool and sea and we fortunate enough to snag both...

Revisited the property after 10 years and it still looks as new as the day. Beautiful colonial decor, with large high ceiling rooms, bathrooms that overlook the harbour and if your lucky spot some dolphins while your in the bath, which I did. Staff were very friendly and so attentive. A special mention to our man at the reception who...

If you want a hotel with charm and elegance quite unlike other five star chain hotels, this is the place for you. We had an amazing suite with bedroom, lounge, bathroom and butlers pantry overlooking the waterfront and only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the aspects it provided. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace watching a...

My wife and I visited this hotel recently - we had been really looking forward to it as it got numerous very good reviews.
