The idea of booking somewhere special for my daughter to stay on her birthday seemed like the perfect present in the middle of her gap year travels. Having read the reviews I soon concluded that the Old Harbour Hotel would be the ideal choice in Cochin, and so it turned out. I corresponded on numerous occasions with Jude throughout the...

We arrived at Old Harbour Hotel after a very long flight, and it was like heaven to get our huge, beautifull room overlooking the garden and the pool. We only stayed for two nights, and that was one of the things, we would have changed, had we known before time, how interesting a city Kochi really is - and how...

When I reviewed the Old Harbour Hotel after a 2009 stay, I said, "Don't stay anywhere else when you're in Kochi!" Well, I followed my own advice, and stayed here again recently, and it was even better than I remembered it. By chance, I picked the Rampart room, the same room I stayed in before. Beautiful room, with one side...

This was a lovely end to our tour of Kerala and Cochin was every thing we hoped for, the only slight critisism and the management were very helpful in sorting it out, is that the wifi was awful. If you get the opportunity of a guided tour round the local area, go for it, it was fascinating. The hotel food...

Magical atmosphere in this hotel, especially at night!! The outdoor area beckons with candlelight, music and the sounds of running water. Staff were friendly, the breakfast made just for you, instead of the usual buffet in other hitels we stayed in, which was a welcome relief. Our concern was with the bathroom, in our room, the toilet wouldn't flush properly...

We stayed here for the start of a ten day trip and it was really fantastic. The room was splendid and the food was great. The garden was beautiful and included a pool to take a dip in the hot weather with lots of shady spots. The staff were really helpful and friendly in a informal way. It felt like...

This is one of the older buildings in the city. It has a relaxed atmosphere with a lovely courtyard and excellent rooms. Service and food are first rate. Old Kochin has some attractive areas along the water front but it has not always been developed in a sympathetic fashion. Nevertheless this is a great jump off point for the backwaters...

What a delightful find. In the heart of Fort Cochin. Lovely room with outdoor tropical rain shower. Sublime food - book a table in the restaurant early under in the courtyard under the biggest mango tree I have ever seen. Tuna tikka and fish and mango curry were both to die for. Wonderful massage. Staff could be have been more...

The property is a handsome, historic home with a lovely swimming pool and garden. When we arrived it happened to be Valentine's Day. The swimming pool was covered in fragrant red rose petals, there were candles hanging from trees and an live musicians were playing and signing Indian love songs. It was stunning and in such fine taste. Edward, the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel.' A 300 year-old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel. Built in the Dutch style of architecture with hints of Portuguese influences, it was the first hotel of old Cochin.
