My wife and I stayed here for one night as part of our 6 week tour of India. We were taken across to the property by punt and were given a warm welcome by the owner. An American couple joined us in the punt and they were stopping for lunch only as the place was fully booked. Breakfast, lunch and...

This place is truly special. Returning for our second visit we have enjoyed a 12 night stay. The villa was amazing - I don't know why Philipkuttys is rated at only two stars as we've stayed at four stars in India nothing like as good as this superior standard. The food at Philipkuttys has an international reputation and is featured...

A fantastically located, 7 cottage homestay, situated on the banks of a 35 acre island in the Keralan backwaters. You are taken across to your traditionally furnished but well appointed cottage by punt and are welcomed into Annu and Annima's idylic world. Warm hearted staff provide wonderful food three times a day, much of it coming from their own farm....

You arrive by punt. The fact that many fellow guests were staying for several weeks and were repeat visitors is a testament to the quality of the experience. It is an active farm but for visitors it is a wonderfully peaceful experience. Full board with meals at a communal table (up to 12). Conversations roam wide and food is varied...

We finally understood why Kerala is called 'God's own country' when we stayed here. You can just sit on your villa's porch and look out at the scenery all day - it is so beautiful. The sunset boat cruise was such an experience - the lake, birds, fishing net and the glowing red sun sinking in the horizon - the...

From the moment you arrive (by boat) you feel calm and incredibly relaxed. The cottages are beautiful, with a lovely verandah looking out onto the backwaters. I thought there may not be enough to do, but just letting yourself succumb to the pace was cathartic. The staff were wonderful, and Anu provided just the right amount of attention. We loved...

The backwaters are incredibly beautiful, although I'd love to go back and help clean up the plastic bottles and debris floating in the canals. Anu at Philipkutty's was absolutely lovely and attentive and kind. Meeting other travellers and eating communally was very nice. The food was excellent! Our accommodations were very charming. The bird-life, flowers, sunsets, all very beautiful. There...

Each of the traditional cottages has its own veranda for sitting and watching the wildlife and general life pass slowly by on the backwater. The owners serve delicious meals on a giant lazy susan as up to 14 guests eat together at the communal round dining table - we met some lovely interesting people and just chilled in between meals....

We came on an unannounced visit to discover a little jewel on an island in the Kerala backwaters. This a farm with five lovely cottages that accommodate two persons each. It is very well maintained and you could not wish for a friendlier welcome. It can be reached by crossing the waterway, on a fat-bottomed boat pushed across in gondola...

We stayed two night and enjoyed it a lot. The place is beautiful and the cottages well maintained. The food is excellent and varied. The garden walk is a must and there are also options for a private boat tour. The only downside of this property is its price which is a on the very high end during peak times...
