My wife & I stayed here for two nights as part of a group tour to this area. Our prime reason for our visit was the Periyar Tiger Reserve, which we didn't get to see because of an industrial site that closed down the town and the reserve. There is no doubt many people will love Spice Village, but in...

For Honeymoon Its a Quite Good Place, Staff are nice and climate is so good. Rooms are very spacious thatched cottages equipped with all modern comforts - exceptionally comfortable bed, restful natural wood decor and a good bathroom with super shower and 'natural' high quality toiletries. Staff can't do enough for you but service is unobtrusive and provided with a...

This place is a like a big spa. The surroundings, rooms, everything is so relaxing! I stayed here just one night as part of the Kerala Blog Express and I was wanting to stay more. The place have a nice bar with great mojitos :) (a little bit expensive, but it worth it). The staff was great too and the...

I can't add to the praise given to Spice Village by other reviewers so will just mention one moan! We tried to book for a walk in the Peryiar Wildlife Sanctuary at the park office where we discovered that people over 60 years old are not accepted, neither are those wearing anything but dull coloured clothes. However, they said the...

We had three nights at this idyllic property. Not enough! Accommodation is a one bedroom bungalow with thatched roof and an outside seating area to listen to the exotic bird song and watch the squirrels and the resident Guinea Fowl marching through the property. Very well equipped room and food was very good. We ate mostly in the 50 mile...

I suppose that as we have just returned from our 9th Trip in as many years to Spice Village, indeed we must like what it provides, and without doubt we do. From the sincere and friendly welcome to a sad but joyful parting, the staff at Spice are second to none. CHG hotels whose group have resorts throughout Kerala are...

Given the location of this hotel, so close to the town and the local bustle, it is amazing that there is a total air of tranquility about the whole place. we were lucky to get a bungalow, as the place has become very famous, and is often full ! We were warmly welcomed and the service is efficient, friendly and perfect. The personnel does everything to make your stay there memorable. The bungalow was just perfectly organised, and was a very charming place to sleep and rest after the excursions...

What can I say? This hotel sited in thatched huts is an Eco friendly establishment, which is fine as long as you're not preached at! The room was extremely well presented with full minibar with local teas and coffee. The bathroom was again very well presented and the only downside was the hut was miles away from the main building....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spice Village is an eco resort in the hills(thekkady) near the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. A cluster of tribal style huts set in a beautiful spice garden is a great escape for most tourists from the heat of the plains, and also a great place for some adventure activities. We have a comfortable pool, an ayurvedic spa, we organise treks into the forest, bamboo rafting and many more. A walk through the property itself is a great way to explore many aspects of nature and the green initiatives undertaken at this eco resort. ... more   less
