My favorite thing about Shiva Garden is the communal area; there are tables, hammocks, hanging chairs, swings, and floor seating area. This area brings a lot of people together; the host family, solo, couple, and family travelers. A great place to chill and relax at!

Fine if you’re on a tight budget - rough and ready, not too far from the beach and cheap. Negative points: very noisy at night, uncomfortable bed, unhelpful staff, no information provided on arrival. This place could be dramatically improved by a warm welcome. If you can afford to go elsewhere, do.

Shiva Garden is such an awesome place to stay. Really clean, great variety of rooms, excellent staff and super helpful. Cool ambience and great mix of travelers. The restaurant serves yummy food and the garden is shaded and cool. Only minutes walk from cliff. Best stay we have had in India!!!!!

Booked 3 nights here online at booking.com. Unfortunately all the space in the dorm was taken so I stayed in a Deluxe Double Room for 3900 INR. The room was ok, very expensive for a room that didn't have AC and had cold water from the shower. Also the wifi didn't work in my room and the fan was very...

Shiva Garden is an amazing place to be. Varkala is a strange place. It's touristy but also relaxed and chill. Shiva garden is the best place to stay, I'm sure. The rooms are basic but clean (and not expensive!). Just ask to see all the rooms available because some are nicer then others. But all are fine. The morning yoga...

I stayed for 4 nights on 2 separate occasions and both times enjoyed the lively atmosphere, chilled out vibe, good food and great company. I slept in the dorm, situated on a rooftop, the mattresses are very comfortable and mosquito nets effective. The staff are attentive, friendly and warm and the cost very reasonable..... They offer Yoga in the mornings,...

I spend in Varkala more than one month and visited most of the places and Shiva Garden was still my favorite place to come back and call it home for...

It is the perfect place to relax, meet cool people, socialize discover all the things India has to offer. It is not placed on the clift which makes the location calm but only 2 min walk away from all the shops and the restaurants. Rooms and the toilets in them are clean following the indian standards. the owner is extremly...

The rooms are nice, the food is OK, the prices are accessible, the familiar environment is peaceful, the playground is super with its hammocks, volleyball net, balls and swings. It even has a slackline. But the strong point of Shiva Garden is that is THE place for long term solo travellers. So be sure to meet interesting people and to...

We stayed there a couple of nights and i would totally recommend it. Rooms are cheap and clean. The owner is very helpful and friendly. The hammocks in the garden are worth every roupie. Short way to the beach.
