It was just the perfect getaway we needed after this pandemic lockdown. As a family we had selected 2 cottages and it was spacious & beautiful 🤩 The whole place was sanitised before we checked in. The in-house hotel food was delicious and we ended up eating all our meals during our 3 days stay there. Staff is very helpful, courteous and makes this whole experience much more blissful. I definitely recommend this place ❤️

One of the best resort I have visited till now. The staff was really helpful and friendly and they knew how to serve the customer. The wooden cottage was well equipped and the service was excellent. A very good place to relax and chill with beautiful scenery and peaceful environment. The in-house restaurant was great with delicious cuisines. Excellent hospitality!

Suggestion: Each room of resort should be equipped with geyser for having warm water 24/7.

It is quiet off road place after Panchgani, we booked a cabin which overlooks the swimming pool. The approach road was bad as work was going on and we had to take a alternate route which was not good. Hopefully the road work gets completed in next 3 to 4 months.
The resort is located in a pretty isolated spot.. so once you are there you can’t move out for a walk or stroll. As we enter the resort it does not give a feeling of a resort, rather it feels like a not so well maintained hotel. Will divide the review in pros and cons so as to give a better picture.
Pros:
Far away from hustle of Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, if you want a quiet place this is good.
We stayed for 2 days, the view as good(but not spectacular) as we visited mid February.
The resort does allow alcohol It is a perfect spot you can sit around swimming pool and enjoy some time with family/friends.
There is some free space to play badminton, football, etc.
and they have a gaming space which has a carrom and TT table.
The wooden cabin feels authentic, although are situated very close to one another. The cabin has a Sitout deck where you can enjoy your mornings and evenings with tea.
Rooms were clean enough. The resort is pretty picturesque(uploading a few pics check them)
Cons
The carrom board and coins are not in a good shape, the TT table was ok.
For the services the place is a bit overpriced.
The management needs to train the staff, they are polite and helpful but not proactive.
The site claims of many things which are absent when you finally stay there.. things like they own their own farms and we can walk around them, there is bonfire every night, etc..
Once we checked in we were shown directly to the cabin.. no info on what all facilities the resort has or the room did not contain any information sheet. If you do not ask you will never know what all facilities are there. Like they mention on site we can go strawberry plucking but no info on that was provided.
We were there Friday and Saturday but no common bonfire was lit, when we had enquired they said that’s personal bonfire can be provided at a charge but common will be lit at night which is free.
The cabin has an AC but does not have a heat mode in it so if you are visiting around winters and rainy the cabin gets pretty cold during early morning hours.
The food is good but not very outstanding, Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar have much better options.
The swimming pool has clean water but the staff needs to work on getting the surroundings clean. There was wooden sitout beside swimming pool which had stale plates atleast for 2 days lying around.
Conclusion: it is good place if you want a quiet stay and it is much better if you are visiting as a group. It was a one time visit for me, would be looking to stay someplace else next time. Would like to mention that the kitchen staff was helpful and the overall the Support staff was helpful and prompt.

We booked their cottage for 2 nights, from 23rd to 25th Dec. It was peak time, because of Christmas. Service was straight forward pathetic to say the least. Rooms don't have heaters, even though temperature can get real low at night. Cottages were good though, definitely not maintained. Wooden stairs were breaking. They don't let order dinner or lunch to the room. We ordered tea and hot milk to room. About half an hour we got tea, for milk had to remind poor old delivery guy. We got it half an hour later. Their restaurant is pathetic at best, deserted mostly. I can imagine people coming to their restaurant only when they are out of options. We ordered chicken Manchurian, we got chicken chilly (I guess they didn't know the difference). It wasn't edible at all, we tried a couple of pieces and left it. Some poor guy must have gotten that refurbished, inedible chilly chicken (I guess the way we did).

In short if you are used to Radisson or Fern, you will be seriously disappointed. Location is good though, a bit isolated from crowd. They seemed to be understaffed, and staff in place seemed untrained or underpaid (not sure which one). If you stay, avoid their food, get your own heater if it's winter.

We were looking for Hotel away from Crowd for tow days complete relaxation with my family. Actually Hira Baug is not in Panchgani its 3-4 km ahead in Bhilar village, 3 km inside the village. Road is bumpy but after reaching hotel its worth. All rooms have valley view. Rooms are specious and bathroom is also nicely done. Hotel have big dining area, only breakfast is served in room and for dinner one must go to dining area. If you order your dinner and next days breakfast in advance then it saves your waiting time. Please carry your biscuits, snacks with you because you wont find any shop outside hotel. Mr. Bhilare and all the staff are very polite and makes you feel special. Do not expect power generator backup at night, if power goes at night you must stay with power cut, according to hotels policy power backup is not available at night. (we had sleepless night)

Do not go with the pictures it looks good only in your picture book.

The reality of this resort is this place dose not have any Room Service, No house keeping, Even in winter this hotel or resort (what ever you say) dose not have 24 hours of hot water service. (You only have hot water from 7 am to 10 am (What a joke) ).

Very very poor food quality most of the main course food item are not available in the their kitchen.
"Do not order chicken though the only non veg item which they have to offer you.

Only want to mention that this property is in a very good location have very good view of nature and bathrooms are clean as its just constructed and rooms are very big.

The rates for this hotel is totally unjustified.

Also its my request to @Booking.com to have some eligibility matrix to get hotels enlisted in your portal.

Me and my wife stayed here for 2N (29th and 30th Mar 2013). Being on the hills this place enjoys some great views and pleasant weather. The evenings and nights are pretty cool and it was superb change from the hot and humid Mumbai weather. The rooms are spacious and well furnished with good quality fittings. The owner Mr. Bhillare is very accommodating and makes it a point to chat with you when you visit. He was kind enough to help us out suggesting some places to visit. Food that we would like to eat etc. As this place is a bit out of the actual Bhillar village, evenings were pretty calm and quiet. The restaurant is on the top floor and again provides view to valley which opes up in front. The food prepared in the restaurant was quite nice and gave us a feeling and taste of local home cooked meals (unlike the spicy and routine preparations which you would get in the run of the mill hotels in Mahabaleshwar/Panchgani). A brand new table tennis table, badminton rackets, carrom etc ensure that you don't get bored even if you decide to stay in the hotel itself. The staff was also quite helpful and when we asked if someone could clean our car, they washed it off immediately with water. I was really impressed with this kind of attitude (haven't seen any other hotel or B&B doing this for customers without a fixed charge). All in all, I think this places provides you some great features and still have a superb value for money proposition.

Some Suggestions:
1. Some indicator for taking the left @ Bhose village would be helpful for people visiting.
2. There is still some work being done for the approach road etc. As of now it is quite a steep climb and a dirt road. This can be improved on priority.
3. Menu needs some additions
4. Generator back up in case of power failure.

My wife and I picked Hira Baug for our Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar trip from Trip Advisor. We knew nothing of its existence before and were pleasantly surprised by the large clean room with LCD TV, a fantastic view and a large bathroom with modern fixtures all for a very affordable tariff. The fact that the place is a bit out of town (in Bhilar - between Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar) had its plus point in that it was away from the maddening Mumbai and Pune crowds and we got the peace and quiet that we were looking for. Sitting in the mornings and evenings, looking out at the strawberry fields and distant hills from our room and letting the cool breeze sweep through the hair was amazingly relaxing.

Mr Gajanan Bhilare, a simple man in a bush shirt who owns the place, came and sat with us in our room thrice during our four day stay and chatted about everything under the Sun - proving what he has always claimed, that when you are at Hira Baug you are not a visitor but family. He told us that we were the first Parsis to come there.

And yes, at his request we went to his farm just down the road and walked through the strawberry fields and plucked juicy strawberries right off the bushes. We also saw a small wheat harvest that was being cleaned, and spoke to the locals who explained to us all about the drip irrigation system that all farmers in this area use. It was a one-of-a-kind experience.

The food department at the Hotel will do with some improving as the menu is limited, though what they serve is fresh and good in quality. But we are sure that that will surely happen in due course, given that Mr Bhilare has big plans for the hotel, including building a swimming pool and putting up tents!

We were very happy that we chose Hira Baug and recommend it to anyone who wants a very decent value-for-money experience. This is not a place for those looking to pay big money for big brands in hotels with snob value.
