We were actually booked into a sister holet , Oasis Haveli but as that was quiet we were offered an upgrade to saty at the Shahi Palace, which as it turned out worked in our favour. The hotel has a great location with teriffic views of the walled city and within easy walking distance. The rooms and public areas were...

To be honest we didn't think much of Jaisalmer. The splendid fort was being destroyed by commercialism and greed, much of the palace resembled a filthy latrine, open sewers provided ample food for flies and feral pigs. Bikaner is a far better bet if you want to visit a desert town. Shahi palace was OK. The rooms were small, dark...

Finally!!! A hotel that's got it right! My husband and I traveled in Asia for almost 6 mths and this was our favorite stop. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to find a place that understands quality and customer service. They will not try to nickle and dime you like most of the hotels in India. In fact,...

Highly recommended. The hotel itself is very good, in a good location. The food is amazing! Some of the best curries I've ever eaten. The hospitality we received was second to none. A must for all travellers to Jaisalmer.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It is close to the fort, with beautiful views from the roof top restaurant and the staff are very very helpful. They called a doctor for me when I was not well and next day took me to his surgery for a check-up - all as part of the hotel service. The food was...

We travelled through India for four months and rather than review the 70 or so places we stayed, we decided to only review the top five. The Shahi Palace was reccommended to us by a family member and it didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, with lovely comfy beds. The selling point...

Room was very spacious and clean, although hot water was only available in the mornings. Staff were very helpful, they arranged to have a tour guide meet us at our next destination. The food was excellent, as was the rooftop restaurant overlooking the fort. We enjoyed our stay here.
