It's a palace converted into a hotel. Hotel is very beautiful and you will feel like palace ambience. They are a little short in terms of amenities, should have good room heaters in winters. Food quality is just average. Location of the hotel is a plus point.

Beautiful property which is turned into a hotel and the residence of current royal family is in one part. Beautiful architecture gives you a sense of history and a beautiful view of the fort very well located at a walking distance from city center and the fort. Very friendly and helpful staff takes care of every possible need of yours....

The property is wonderful with beautiful architecture and offers a glimpse of the glorious Rajasthani princely life. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are well kept. The in-house restaurant is good and serves a delicious Kair sangri (Rajasthani specialty). The dinner is mostly a buffet/unlimited meal (800 INR per person). The staff was helpful and courteous. The sore point was...

Centrally located hotel with marvellous yellow stone building . which gives the impression of a heritage hotel but its not true . The reception is very small , gives a feeling as if entering a cave . The newly constructed rooms are very basic , with very little and most ordinary facilities . In my opinion , the building could...

This is a lovely hotel. We spent two nights here. It's not the most luxurious and our room was basic. But the buildings have intricate exterior, simply beautiful to look at. Don't forget to walk around the property and explore the museum/gallery/temple inside the compound. The owner also has some beautiful horses. The service was good, breakfast decent. The hotel...

It's a beautiful palace property but the rooms are quite average. We paid 12k for a room which I feel was very exorbitant for the room type. Food options were very limited. The staff insisted that we eat a buffet dinner .. charged us 800 per plate and was below average food!

The location is a bit off as compared to other hotels, but it is a very good place. Near to the market so shopping and picking up your needs becomes a lot easier. The palace is small, but well maintained. The checkin was a bit slow, but the staff was very helpful and welcoming The royal family stays in the...

We stayed in this property in the last week of Dec'16 and we had a great experience of heritage stay. The evening program organized by the hotel was really good and we enjoyed our stay here. Staff were helpful and rushed to address a problem we had with a power point in the room.

We checked in for 2 days (21st to 23rd dec.), hoping to get a good royal feel but not really happy with the hotel. No doubt they have a beautiful, heritage building but thats all they have. # Mr. Dubey, the manager was very polite and welcoming and staff was good. # At many places I felt the hotel was not...

We didn't actually stay at the hotel but our visit to the museums were very pleasant. This tempted us to go back and eat at the restaurant later during the evening which had live local / folk entertainment and was very nice. Restaurant food was average with buffet having only soup, 1 starters, 4 mains, one of which was non-veg,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A two centuries old palace converted into a hotel, WelcomHeritage Mandir Palace offers a concoction of medieval charm with the modern amenities. The main portion of the two centuries old Palace was built during the reign of the late Maharawal Jawahir Singh. This palace is testimony to the history of Jaisalmer with different portions of the palace being built by different rulers of Jaisalmer till as late as the beginning of the twentieth century. ‘Badal Vilas’, a unique tower like structure at Mandir Palace is the tallest structure in town below the hill-top city fort, reminding us of the incredible historical relevance attached to both the palace as well as the city of Jaisalmer. ... more   less
