We stayed at Sardargarh for two nights and out of all the hotels we stayed at in India (about 9 different ones), this was by far the most outstanding and luxurious one. The hotel and the grounds are stunning and so much attention is paid to detail, be it in the rooms, gardens or at breakfast. Everything is incredibly clean... More

Charming fort, attentive and remarkable hosts, responsive staff. A perfect stop between Jodhpur and Udaipur. Take the Night Safari. We saw all with the exception of a panther ! An amazing property for an amazing experience ... Wish the swimming pool had been heated.

The magnificent 18th Century Fort Sardargarh is certainly one of the grandest, most beautifully restored Forts in Rajasthan. Only 94 Km from Udaipur makes this and absolute MUST when travelling through Rajasthan. All 18 suites are beautifully appointed and either have lake or city views. The suites are large all with modern fixtures and fittings and spotlessly clean. The Restaurant... More

This was such a special place. It started with a traditional Indian welcome on arrival before being escorted to our luxurious room, complete with seated bay window affording panoramic views of the town and countryside. We were served Assam tea on our private varandah as we relaxed after our journey. This was followed with a swim in the secluded courtyard.... More

It was wonderful to visit Sardargarh heritage hotel, an experience that offered a glimpse of a bygone era coupled with all the luxuries of a modern hotel- luxurious rooms with wonderful views, a neat, well-equipped bathroom and presciently laid-out meals. Immaculately managed by the royal couple who have put in great efforts to bring to life this battle-fort of their... More

Lovely hotel. We were the only guests but we were serenaded at dinner under the stars. Skip the guided tour of the fort but be sure to walk around on your own. Great service. Large room, nice bathroom, lovely grounds and pool. Highly recommend a stay. The service was amazing and special.

It is hard to use sufficient superlatives to describe our experience at the Sardargarh Fort. This is a converted fort still owned by the family that has owned it for generations. Contrary to what some guests have posted, the owner is not a Maharaja (or would not be a Maharaja if royalty still existed). He explained to me that his... More

We cannot fault Sardargarh for its location and comfort. It was a real joy to go there after the hustle and bustle of some of the major cities. The design of the hotel in the corner of the old fort is superb, with excellent amenities and fantastic views over the countryside around. We very much enjoyed being able to eat... More

Set deep in the Rajasthan countryside an impressive fort that has been well restored. Very much the love of the Maharajah and the Maharani who look after their guests with great care. From the moment you enter the gate you know you are into something magical. The rooms are wonderful set around a beautiful garden. They are large and have... More
