We stayed here for 2 nights. We were the only guests and were made very welcome by Nitin, the manager and his staff. The pool had just been finished and was a welcome surprise as we had very hot days. The food was cooked fresh, lovely and lots of it. Nitin took us for a tour of the adjoining village...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for four nights and really enjoyed it. We had the opportunity to sit back and relax midway through our one month tour of Rajasthan. It is located in a remote area and away from the hustle and bustle of the hectic tour driven cities of India. The food was excellent, although no...

Not only were they incredibly helpful, but such genuinely nice people! Nitin made sure our stay was everything we expected and more, he is a credit to their team! The restaurant...

I was very excited to stay at this hotel after watching the Marigold films. Although the location is far more rural than expected ,this added to its authenticity. It didn't come over as a prop but a beautiful, unique hotel full of charm. My room overlooked the temple and it was a joy to see the village children playing here...

Just returned from yet another fabulous stay at 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' and am missing it, and everybody there, already. It's a wonderful building, full of detail and places to explore. Hospitality is great - Nitin is a true credit, a mind of information and nothing is ever too much trouble, even when it's a group of 12 people,...

My group only spent an afternoon here relaxing in the pool which was wonderful. The manager gave us a guided tour of the hotel with lots of information about the filming which took place here. We were also provided with tea and pakora. Everyone was very welcoming.

A lovely family run hotel which was used as the hotel in the film 'The best exotic marigold hotel'. From the film it appears to be in Jaipur but it is outside Udairpur and not easy to find. Once we got there we were welcomed by the owner and his sons, who also run a stud farm from the premises....

Unfortunately we only stayed one night in this quaint hotel. Wished we were staying longer. We enjoyed the pool, loved the "village walk" thoroughly enjoy the meals and thought the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We visited to see where they made the movie and came a way with an all round experience of a genuine Indian village. Can't...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Now reopened with Resaalaa Restaurant. Ravla Khempur used as The BestExotic Marigold Hotel,a british movie. The title ‘Ravla’ in Rajasthan refers to the home of a village chieftain”. In earlier days, the Ravla was the focal point of the entire village. Functions such as village welfare, collection of taxes, administration of law and order, and the initiation of festivals took place in the Ravla. Ravla Khempur exudes historical ambience and is graced with breathtaking surroundings. The lofty terraces, open courtyards, sprawling gardens, domes, arches and canopied balconies transport one back in time. Khempur village developed over the centuries to one side of the Ravla. It comprises a small, random and attractive cluster of typical rural dwellings and shops, and shaded squares where the villagers discuss the affairs of the world or share the local gossip. For the visitor, this is a side of India that has its own fascination; the cheerful welcome and natural hospitality of the village folk who ask nothing more than to enjoy a chat over a cup of tea. ... more   less
