We went on a nature photography trip and from the three places we visited (Bharatpur, Chambal and Bandhavgarh) this definitely was the best! Lovely lodges, good food, friendly staff, etc. The safaris to the river are great and crocodiles are guaranteed. We also went for and saw black buck. Peacock were displaying just outside the hotel grounds.

This place was lovely. The buildings were good and our chalet. The people were friendly and the food was excellent. The lodge is surrounded by trees, and we spent our time wandering around the grounds looking at the animals and the birds. We went on a safari to the Chambal river and saw Crocodiles, Gharials, Dolphins and many birds. Our...

Chambal Safari Lodge was about two hours drive from Agra. The grounds of the lodge have lots of beautiful tall trees with meandering paths through them. The rooms are beautifully decorated with spacious bathroom and luggage area. We were there when it was extremely hot (April) and this did test the air-conditioning. However there is always cooling air movement thanks...

To stay here is so relaxing. A Bird watchers heaven. Gardens are very colourful. Food is excellent, service very good. Camper fire in the evening makes for a social hub. The rooms were in-keeping with the safari atmosphere, clean quaint and functional. I really enjoyed my stay here.

This is the most amazing property tucked away in the beautiful greens just 4 hours from Gurgaon. The rooms were large and neatly done up with large expanses for strolls and seating. Food was decent and the staff most polite and attentive. The property itself is magnificent but the icing on the cake are the abundant birds and animals. One...

This place was perfectly adequate for what we wanted and that was a place to stay while we went on their boating safari at first light and again in the afternoon to photograph birds from the river. This was the best bird photography ever...... Our guide was very good and knew exactly where to take us and looked after us...

The rooms, staff and food at Chambal were all great, however it was let down by its close proximity to a very busy road. This detracted from the otherwise peace and quite. The boat trip on the river and visit to Bateshwar temples were excellent.

Dear JahWigan Thank you for your review. Very happy to note that you liked the rooms, staff and food at Chambal, and enjoyed the excursions to the Chambal Sanctuary and to the Temples. We have had an increase in the volume of traffic along our main road, and the noise carries despite the buffer of 500 metres of fields and...

What an amazing experience! I went there with my husband and we had the best holiday of our lives. We re city people so have never done anything remotely close to bird watching and river safari. We got to see such amazing things and even walking around the lodge itself we spotted a rare spotted owl as well as flying...

Awful food. We was ill whilst we was there. Very expensive tours. If you don't have a car they make you book one. If you do have a car the hotels guide gets in it. Very, very expensive. A place like this would be no more than £20 anywhere else. The food and drink prices are outrageous. 300 rupee for...

Thank you for your review, the tone of which suggests you were trapped into coming, and forced to stay! Might I recommend a little more research planning your next holiday to find one that suits your tastes? To address your specific points: Yes, we are very quiet – exactly what we endeavor to provide – “an oasis of peace and...

If you are looking for peace and quiet and don't mind paying a premium for a place to stay then this is the right hotel for you. Not only is it expensive but because there are no restaurants nearby you have no alternative but to eat at the hotel the food is average at best but extremely expensive.

Thank you for your review, a far more toned down version compared to your companion, but essentially the same theme. The omnipresent high-street ‘Taj Mahal Tandoori Palace’ has done a great dis-service to Indian food, trying to live up to the adage that a good curry must hurt! It might have made the 'curry' the British favorite, but it is...
