Tajview, Agra - IHCL SeleQtions, is often celebrated for its excellent service, with guests frequently commending the staff's warmth and attentiveness. While opinions on value and rooms show some divergence—room size and decor receiving mixed reviews—the location is widely praised for its proximity to the Taj Mahal. The hotel's atmosphere, with its soothing music and tasteful decor, contributes to a welcoming environment, though it's not without its critics.
Amenities like the rooftop view and spa earn plaudits, but dining options are noted to be limited. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with particular emphasis on well-kept rooms and public areas.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at the Taj with an upper floor suite for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable and meticulously cleansed and restocked daily. The upper floor leads to the Sky Deck restaurant which offers views of the Taj Mahal seen in different light throughput the day. I brought along a telephoto lens so could make out individuals walking the Taj! The hotel is well located and the new light railway system will link it up up to various parts of the city when it completes in the future.
By the way, the food is authentic for North Indian cuisine and there is a good selection of international dishes for more fussy eaters!
I have to say all the staff were really good in every aspect of what makes a good hotel. However, I do want to give a huge thanks to Mr Ali on the front desk. During our stay one of our children was under the weather with a cold. Mr Ali arranged for a doctor to visit, then arranged for a car and instructed the driver to ensure all the medicines were in order at a local pharmacy. This all took one hour from calling the doctor to administrating the medication. Now that’s impressive and made possible by Mr Ali’s attention to detail in the care of his guests. A real gentleman. Thank you!
All told, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Drinking cocktails on the Sky Deck while the sun sets on the Taj Mahal was unforgettable. Idle away in glorious sunshine and bask in the majesty of the Taj Mahal.

We stayed in a room with a Taj view and were very pleased.
The view was better than I thought it would be and the location of the hotel is great as it’s not far from the Taj Mahal.
We were greeted very warmly and shown to our room.
An upgrade was offered for an additional fee but we were only there one night and were perfectly happy with the room we were given.
In the evening we ate in the restaurant downstairs (can’t remember the name) and although it was expensive we had the nicest food we’d had in any of the other hotels we had stayed in.
Breakfast had a very good choice and again the food was excellent.
The staff are very friendly and very helpful.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others.

If you stay here, you must reserve a room with a view of the Taj. It’s pretty amazing. You can also find a nice view from the roof. The room had everything we needed and they even brought a space heater when we couldn’t get warm enough. The lobby is very attractive, and the restaurants quite good. We also enjoyed the puppet show and sitar player.

This hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. We were only staying one night so we left it to our travel agent to recommend a hotel after our initial choice fell through due to refurbishment.
Firstly the location is great for visiting the sights. This explains the many tour groups that seem to make up the hotels main clients. It’s on a main road though and I was a bit apprehensive about the traffic noise I could hear in our room but by the time we’d gone to bed it was quiet.
We had a warm welcome though I have to say I am starting to resent the increasing amount of information that hotels want to collect about their patrons.
We had club sandwiches at the hotel which were great but that’s where it ends really. The dinner that evening was barely edible, - it is just not appropriate to serve paying guests frozen pizza. The beer they served us was terrible, - bitter and with a dreadful after taste. A bottle of Sula wine was 3600 Rs! The exact same wine was 2600 at the Shangri-La in Delhi. The tour groups were all tucking into the buffet with abandon so one imagines that’s where the hotels culinary skills were spent.
The staff were all absolutely lovely though and the hotel was spotless everywhere. The beds really hard and we found it difficult to sleep. The bathroom was tiny, there was no bath mat and the worn towels were the skinniest I’ve seen in a long time.
If we return to Agra I think we’d avoid this hotel.

Beautifully maintained hotel with extremely courteous staff, It's a lovely property to stay in whenever in Agra.
The staff of the hotel is very helpful and always ready to help you in every possible manner, The lady ( Silvia) at the front desk was amazingly polite and very helping as when we checked in the room was not really comfortable and had some cleanliness concerns, however when I approached the lady she made sure that the concerns were resolved and we are comfortable. She also offered us room change and we were shown another room by Bablu and were shifted immediately. The morning buffet breakfast was amazing and delicious, They had a vast buffet spread and the quality of the food was just amazing, the restaurant staff members were also very polite and ready to serve each guest out there throughout. Last but not the least, Trilok ji from security was a very humble and bid us a warm good bye..!!!
Definitely a place to come back❣️❣️
Keep it up guys..!!!

This hotel was OK - the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was fine, if small compared with some places. There is a distant view of the Taj Mahal from the rooftop bar, but we were in a pool view room at the back and I'm not sure how many of the rooms overlooking the very busy road would also have a Taj view. There was a wedding place just to the right of the pool, which meant an extremely noisy evening. January/February is wedding season. I had to put in earplugs to sleep, despite the double glazing. We ate at the buffet, which was fine, although I was annoyed to find that they charged my credit card in pounds, not rupees, even though I specifically requested that my payment be made in rupees. The receipt shows both rupees and pounds, but the pounds have been charged, at a huge 15 per cent premium on what my credit card company would have charged for the conversion.
Be careful not to go in the shop on the right near the lift (the clothes shop). The guy in there was incredibly pushy, wouldn't let me browse in peace at all, and got really angry when I didn't buy anything. The guys in the jewellery shop on the left were much more helpful and less pushy and their prices were very good compared with other places we were taken to. I didn't buy anything there either, but they were fine about it and I would go back there.

The staff here was very warm and helpful. For a pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to a suite where we had a very comfortable stay with family. Though it rained the day we reached the hotel, but the rooms were pleasantly dry, impeccably clean and fresh. Washroom was huge and designed to take care of all the basic comfort needs with hassle free showers and quality toiletries. Multicuisine dinner buffet was awesome in the restaurant Swang Kitchen along with live music. Definitely recommended.

absolutely devastated by the service quality of this hotel, left a feedback on the bill,
the room offered was not masked after the previous customer left, the bed mattress spring hurt u can actually feel the those springs into your back, the bathroom or washroom had spiders, insects in them clearly sating that the hotel requires deep pest control, the food served is limited for a buffet, the tandoor is closed during service hours, the hotel staff was informed and all they did is glared in your face. Its absolutely shameful to be called a Taj hotel. The corridors on the 4th floor our not well lit and the ceiling is falling apart. The Jahnkar restaurant has titles that are worn out and need replacement people trip, i tripped. Whats more astonishing is when you bring each of these issues to the notice of the management they expect you to live the horror and not do a thing about it but apologize state that the management is not least interested in such property and the only resolution offered is when we receive a feedback form like this we should pen our concerns.
These are not baseless comments, i have mentioned the same comments on my check out invoice which i have duly signed. Mr. Ali and the House Keeping incharge was there to receive such feedback. photos of such un kept room was provided to Mr. Ali Duty manager and the house keeping service manager
I'am expecting a full refund of such money paid.

We were disappointed with the Tajview but maybe our expectations were too high. Beyond the the impressive and welcoming lobby this is a fairly standard international hotel.
Our check in was courteous and our room was okay. We had booked a Taj view room - it was a reasonable sized room on the 3rd floor with a slightly obscured view of the Taj in the distance. The bed was large and soft and there was a reasonable amount of room around it. There were ample chairs to sit in. The bathroom was very compact with over half the space being taken up by the disproportionately large shower.
The hotel is relatively close to the Taj Mahal and is set in attractive and large grounds. The swimming pool is a plus factor - it is large and impeccably well kept. We spent the majority of one day by the poolside when Agra was in 'lockdown' because of Donald Trump's visit.
We ate in Jhankar where the food was good and the service also good. The Asian food from Svanga Kitchen was good also but the ambiance is average at best. Breakfast was heavily slanted to Indian dishes and is also served here. We also spent ten minutes in the Sky Bar which was enough.
The hotel is clean and the staff polite but generally the service levels did not match those we experienced in the other hotels on our 25 day stay.

as the name tells, Taj is outstanding. but for the first time I saw a number of problems in this group of hotels. the washrooms are clean but there is no jet or water hose around the flush. as a result we had to change the room. only then were we able to settle down. moreover, there is hardly any pressure in the taps. I recommend that the tourists stay on the 5th floor as the rooms on the rest of the floors are not worthwhile.
