The stay was amazing, with attentive service and lovely rooms. The view from the room was exquisite. Close enough to the mall road, but away from the hustle of it. The heating could have been a bit better.
Pleasantly surprised by this oh-so-well maintained heritage property, formerly a YWCA facility. It's far from the madding crowd, yet not too far from the bubbly Mall Road. It's sad that two and four wheelers are allowed to ply by the local authorities for a small fee on the Mall Road. Walking on this stretch will be so much more enjoyable for all if the authorities turn it into a pedestrian plaza. Coming back to Pine Retreat .. Each of the 18 spacious rooms have retained the heritage look and feel, and several rooms offer an unparalleled view of the valley. We happened to be the only resident guests! The initial feeling was awesome and scary at the same time .. it all turned out to be amazingly awesome and nothing else during the entire stay ! Inexplicable hospitality .. kudos to the management and staff .. Thank you! We did not expect an operational fireplace .. it was cold and on both nights we had out dinner table set near the mantle in the dining room. How much more cozy could it get? As luck would have it, we were greeted with a snow fall in the morning of our departure .. Perfect end to our trip. All in all, a memorable stay .. wish we had more time to spend at this amazing property.…
Word of recommendation for manager Mr.Pankaj, Chef Mr. Mulayam, service boy Mr. Nautial..awsum food, awsum service..after stuffing ourself with ausum food we wanted to eat light..so we orderd yellow dal..even that was more delicious than dal makhni from various other places..veg kebab platter is a must try! Although hotel policy was clear about zero redund on last minute cancellation, they refunded us Rs.15,000 for the last day for our couple friend who could not make ot due to medical emergency (booking date 31st dec -2nd jan)..This gesture will always be remembered...
