It was an unforgettable experience. I feel ITC Savoy is the place to be if you visit Mussoorie. I visited on 15 th Jan 2023. There was no snow fall so far this winter. I drove in my own TATA Safari from Chandigarh to Mussourie. There were 6 of us. Till Dehradun the drive was super easy. After reaching Dehradun the traffic snarls and narrow streets started, as it was a Sunday and locals were heading towards Mussoorie. It's a steep incline just 25 km before mussourie so people with travel sickness take some puke bags. On reaching Mussoorie there was a bit of confusion as there is one more ITC FORTUNE Hotel just at the Mall. We had to manoeuvre through tight streets to reach Savoy. Once I reached there, it was heavenly. The Savoy has been painstakingly restored to its original glory by the management. I stayed in Superior Mountain View Rooms 24 and 25. Was dissappointed initially to see that there was no private balcony as mentioned in the description of ITC booking portals. However the rooms were superb. The rooms near no. 38 have the best private sit out at the back even though they were rated cheaper than our lobby. Be careful to know exactly what to expect. The Writer's Bar, the Dining hall, the documentary film about history of Savoy are simply outstanding. The service is impeccable. Food taste and quality is very good. The Savoy has a small Cafe at Lal Tibba too. I visited there too and found it to be the best place in that area. I hired a cab to reach there as the drive is straight out of a James Bond movie. Landour bakery and other landmarks are a part of this historic tour. On the way you can see Ruskin Bond's House too. Kempty falls can be missed in winters. Overall, I am thankful to the staff especially Shradha and Sahil at the Front office, Shivam from housekeeping and Samyak from the room dining services. Apart from Savoy, Mussoorie is overhyped. Its not my statement. A local lady vendor selling corns, bhutta said that. I asked her about the must see things on the Mall road. She made a face and said " Kuch Khaas nahi" It's the weather maybe, or it's the history of that place, which makes it a one time watch.…
This might sound like a paid review but it is not!! The Savoy literally blew my mind - not simply due to its grandeur rooted in history and tales of lore or it’s sprawling majestic lawns, opulent dining hall and bar as well as the perfectly anointed colonial era luxurious rooms but mostly due to the outstanding and impeccable level of hospitality which each and every member of the staff offers. From the tiniest detail, from check in to check out, they go above and beyond. We were travelling with my three year old and they pulled out all stops for him including a birthday in the glass house. Special mention to Semanti and Shraddha from guest relations for constantly asking us if we needed more out of our stay. The FnB team is phenomenal and on point to to say the least. The FnB manager, Narendra took very good care of us (even saving me from a drunk guest at one point). Arjun an executive from the Grand Dining Hall went over and beyond every time we dined there and special requests were so routine they weren’t even special anymore. The chefs, Rajeev and sous chef Prakash always inquired to check if we had any feedback with regards to the menu and if they could do more. And that wasn’t lip service cause they always did!!! Sahil, the front office head ensured everything was seamless and feedback was taken seriously. His gestures to making my son feel comfortable were amazing. Full marks to him for getting my son the balloons and flowers of the color he wanted :) Coming to the rooms, they will transport you to an era of yore buttressed with all the modern creature comforts you could ask for. Their evening bonfire hosted by the super fun but equally knowledgable Mr. Mahendroo had us in splits as well as wowed us with the history of the Savoy and Mussoorie in general. Not something to be missed. As well as the documentary on the history of the hotel - a compelling watch. I could go on and on but the reason I have spoken so much is because as a well travelled person in India and Internationally, I have never desired to visit any hotel again so soon as much as I have, the Savoy!…
Undoubtedly one of the best properties in Mussoorie with old world architecture, classic charm and great hospitality. We have a group of 40 people for our business conference and stay for 2 days.... Right from check-in to room service to over all stay ... the entire team was very supportive and excellent in service and hospitality. I have visited the place in Jan 2023 with family. Its a vintage property with a great location just at the corner of Mall road. Yet a very quiet and nice place. Generally Hill station properties are not vary big but Savoy is a big property. They have maintained their Vintage look and at the same time all facilities and amenities are perfect. Property is very well maintained and the staff is courteous and helpful. They have few complementary events as well during the day. Food is good as expected. In all a great place to stay.
Excellent classical hotel which is almost 200 years old. The service, rooms & food were very good. They have got multiple activities during the day which keep you engaged. Property is big & luxurious. We thank the team for their hospitality & care throughout the stay.
When we arrived at this picturesque hotel, we were greeted by the friendly guards, as we entered the reception the staff welcomed us with some unique hot drink and cookies while we waited until our room was ready. I informed the staff that I was here on a special occasion and was planning to have a suprise proposal to my girlfriend. The staff was very kind to help me on the suprise. They gave me an upgrade to the royal suite which they had available, decorated the room and ordered a suprise cake( all this complimentary from the lovely staff which I am very grateful for) Welcomhotel also organised a number of complimentary activities to enrich our stay at 'The Savoy'. Evening 'Tea Ceremony' was very refreshing. Followed by the 'Bonfire' which was organised on the deck with a very nice view of the town and some very indulging stories about Mussourie's history and the 'Change of guards ceremony'. Followed by the movie screening of the 'Savoy saga of an icon'. Next day morning they also organised a morning walk from camel back road to mall road and a group yoga session followed by buffet-style breakfast which offered everything ( literally, you think it they had it). Apart from the organised activities the heritage hotel itself is an architectural wonder and is very well preserved. I was in constant awe of the hotel as I walked around it (attached some pics below to express what I mean). The grand dining room made us feel like we were part of the 'Titanic' movie. We tried the 'welcomsthalika' their very special garwali thali, which was very delicious and would definitely recommend everyone to try. My stay at welcomehotel- the Savoy was a very memorable one and very thankful to the staffs for making it an even better experience. I hope to visit the hotel again soon and this time stay longer.…
Amazing arrangements done by the management team for my parents anniversary. Very cooperative and soft spoken. The name of the hotel very much speaks for itself. If you’re planning for a visit here , a right decision indeed
Very warm and courteous hospitality. Rooms still have that old positive vibe. Stayed here earlier as well and the property doesn’t fail to refresh one with its open area, the greenery and so many activities to do within the property. Food is also good.
Best location to stay in Mussorie, just by the Mall road. Everything is in a walking distance. Food is great and rooms have a nice old age vibe to it. Very happy with the service and the overall ambience. Would love to plan a longer stay next time to enjoy it even more! Cheers!
