The Hard Rock Hotel Bali garners accolades for its exceptional service, with guests frequently complimenting the attentive staff and memorable experiences. Its dynamic, music-themed atmosphere is a hit, though the volume can sometimes be too much for some. While the hotel's location earns high marks for convenience to beach and local attractions, opinions on value vary with certain guests considering dining and services pricey.
The amenities, especially the pool, are well-regarded, despite some calls for improved breakfast and beach quality. Room opinions are mixed, acknowledging cleanliness but noting some datedness and moisture issues.

Fantastic hotel, beds and pillows are so comfy. I'm a music lover so appreciate all the music memorabilia and all the little details throughout the hotel. I will be back. I think a teenager would love this hotel as it has a teenager hang out room that I as adult really liked. Also great location ti shopping and resturants

We recently spent a delightful week at the Hard Rock Hotel Bali, from the first week of January. Our family, including my wife, son, and in-laws, stayed in two well-appointed, communicating rooms. The highlight for us was the expansive pool area. My son absolutely loved the water slides and the unique sand beach island. As for myself, the pool bar was a great spot to unwind, despite prices being a tad high by Bali standards.
The hotel's grounds are beautifully maintained, adding to the serene atmosphere. Breakfast was a daily treat, with a wide variety of delicious options. We were particularly impressed by the staff's hospitality. Dev in the restaurant, Mangku in housekeeping, and Pande at the pool bar, along with all the other staff members, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
Its central location in Kuta is a major plus, conveniently close to restaurants, the beach, and shopping areas. However, our room's view was less than ideal, overlooking the back of the hotel with a perspective of rundown buildings. Thankfully, the presence of jackfruit trees, palms, and playful squirrels somewhat made up for it.
We noticed some reviews mention the pool cleanliness, but during our stay, it was maintained daily. Considering the size of the pool and the surrounding natural flora, some debris is expected but it didn't detract from our experience. Room service was always prompt and efficient, adding to the convenience of our stay.
Overall, the Hard Rock Hotel Bali provided a fantastic, family-friendly environment that catered to both relaxation and entertainment. We would definitely recommend it for a memorable stay in Bali.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The rooms were a good size with all the amenities you would expect.
The important thing was that it was quiet in the room. We requested a room in a quiet area and away from the bar, which can be noisy with the live music.
Room cleaned daily to an excellent standard.
Every member of staff we encountered said hello and checked that we were having a good time.
The buffet breakfast was ok, nothing great, a good choice but the .quality was not quite there. After a few days it was a bit repetitive, but I wouldn’t let that stop me from going back.
Never a problem to get a sun bed, the big pool can be quite noisy, and the quiet pool was not actually that quiet as seemed a lot of smaller kids, but we always found a good spot to relax.
Overall we had a fabulous 6 day stay, the location is ideal for exploring not just Kuta but the surrounding areas.

Dear Stevegeorgeshaw, Thank you for the recently staying with us and for the terrific review. We are over the moon that you had a 'fabulous' stay and enjoyed all that we have to offer. This time of year is peak season and with the hotel pushing capacity most nights the pools can tend to be a little more crowded than usual but I'm pleased that you always found a good spot to relax. You will be pleased to know that we will be making some significant improvements to our all day dining and breakfast buffet restaurant soon amongst other enhancements, so stay tuned for those. Thank you again and we hope to see you back on stage in the future. Keep well! Rockin' Regards Shane Coates

Probably one of the worst hotels we've ever been to in the world. After joining a Bali family facebook group, this hotel came very highly recommended for young families so we booked. Once we got there though, it was a very different story.
Besides the friendly staff we encountered, there is nothing nice to say about this hotel.
Our room had the strongest mould odour upon arrival. Traveling with a 1.5year old baby and an asthmatic, we immediately wanted to leave and requested a refund based on the condition of the room and were told that we could not have a refund for a 3 night stay due to hotel policy which is absurd when your room is not fit or safe for visitors! Instead, the hotel manager offered us 1 night refund which is appalling.
Couple that with the main pool looking more like a murky, dirty green pond than a pool, this hotel is not up to par with what they promote.
There are MUCH better resorts in Bali that don't feel like you've come to filty, over populated, bottom-of-the-barrel kind of place.
I strongly recommend avoiding this place to avoid disappointment and out of pocket costs when you arrive and will tell everyone I know the same.

Dear Malina, We sincerely regret that you felt compelled to write this negative review after concerted efforts from my team to satisfy you, and as such feel it necessary to correct some details. I understand traveling with young children with asthma can have its challenges along with the heightened sensitivities. Upon receiving your feedback on the room condition, we offered other room option changes but were declined as you had made your mind up immediately to checkout. Should note that we could not identify the mould odor you refer to in your room, along with the room temperature and humidity being at healthy levels based on actual instrument readings. Considering the above and that you decided to leave later in the evening, we rightly charged the 1 night and agreed to refund you the remaining 2 nights which was willingly accepted by your husband, rather than the 1 night that you stated in the review. So perhaps you can clarify with him. That being said, it's a real shame you didn't have the time to experience our property with a more positive frame of mind. Best regards Shane Coates

Comfy bed but be prepared to live out of your suitcase as almost zero storage for families. All staff are really friendly and the hotel seemed to be really clean with lots of people carrying out general duties such as garnering, pool cleaning etc. Just the small rooms made it difficult on a morning and evening with the kids and then having to pay over the top for the average food and drink would make us visit somewhere else.

We stayed here for the first week of our trip to Bali (Kuta & Ubud), Lombok, and Dubai, and this was the best family hotel by far!
Hard Rock Bali is everything you’d like to expect from a top notch, professional, western franchise, eliminating the risk factor when you’re travelling with kids.
Our two boys (aged 10 and 7) absolutely loved it for the awesomely humongous swimming pool, well organised pool activities, cool rockstar decor, and wonderful, friendly staff. There were competitions every day and the boys felt fully included in the fun.
For us parents, the hotel was all we could have wanted; breakfast is run like a well-oiled machine, the food was great, with plenty of options for our fussy eater, and everything was clean, tidy, and well maintained.
Whilst we are not drinkers, we enjoyed a couple of hours in the Main Stage bar, which is very cool, and enjoyed perusing the abundant costumes and guitars of the stars.
The hotel’s restaurants served up lovely snacks and food, with the poolside bistro being our favourite.
However, attached to the hotel there is also a Hard Rock Cafe and a Jamie Oliver restaurant, both of which were great (and served chips!🤣) and offered discounts to the hotel guests.
The location of the hotel is opposite Kuta beach, but with such an amazing pool the kids hardly needed to venture any further.
However, whatever you need isn’t far away, there are tons of shops and restaurants just steps away, with the excellent Beachwalk mall within a five minute walk.
Whilst we found Kuta a bit manic (the traffic never stops!) and not really our scene, the Hard Rock Bali was everything would could have hoped for and more.
A special mention goes to Paris, one of the pool team, who our kids took a real shine too and looked after us really well.
Also, the Paparazzi team of photographers who were also very friendly and gave us an amazing shot at a very reasonable price! We couldn’t resist taking all the images home and urge you not to be tight and just get them!
A few more features worth mentioning include: the kids’ club that includes PlayStations, PC’s, and Xbox’s, as well as a huge pool table and air hockey; the lovely shady area with oversized chess set and koi carp swimming around; the outdoor infinity mirrors and the lifts, and the sandy part of the pool that was a first for us!
To sum up, if you’re heading g to Kuta, stay here, you won’t regret it!

We just returned from 5 nights at the Hard Rock with our 10 year old. Going from the reviews initially, I can now confirm that it is a fabulous hotel for kids!
Our entire stay, friendly and attentive staff, always greeting you as you walk the hallways, and nothing was too hard for them to accommodate. Security is great and the hotel feels very safe all round.
We stayed in a deluxe room. Photos provided. Next time I would stay on the ground floor in a courtyard room or similar, as having the walk out access to the gardens would be a great luxury.
The buffet was great, huge variety and plenty of vego options if you need them. Pool is spectacular, and constantly maintained, you can see them in action all day. We hired a cabana, and it made our pool days much more lush and convenient to rest, as it was HOT HUMID AS over there!
The location is very central, and the front desk were always happy to call us a Bluebird for our travels (MUCH cheaper to get around than any other driver or transport).
We hired a nanny for the week, and the hotel provided us with an extra room key for her to have access to our room when needed.
One con - I had to sleep with earplugs in due to hallway noise (guests) and I could also hear the band from the Centre Stage, for a family focused hotel I didn’t think this was idea! Overall happy and will absolutely stay here again!

I am really torn with this hotel, it is a lovely hotel with great, friendly staff, clean rooms, huge, comfy beds and a good breakfast. However, we have stayed at many Hard Rock hotels and this is not the usual standard we have experienced. It is over crowded and unless you upgrade to the Royalty Roxity package, you may as well be at any lower cost family resort.
Our rooms were not ready at check-in, but we were offered afternoon tea whilst we waited. The room was a good size, with a really comfy bed and all the amenities. The rooms were always well cleaned, however we still experienced a sewage smell from our bathroom.
Although breakfast has a good variety, with plenty to offer, it is absolute carnage! So busy and noisy, with people everywhere, it just can't handle the vast amount of guests. If you upgrade to Royalty, you can have a more personalised experience with an a la carte breakfast, in a quieter setting.
The main pool is pretty much the same as breakfast...mayhem! The pool is huge but too much space is taken up with cabanas, which you need to prebook weeks in advance. The pool is scummy and dirty, where it is so busy and the filters can not work effectively. It is also strange that there is only very quiet music playing at the main Hard Rock pool. However, if you have upgraded you can go to the 'chill out' pool, on a good day it is lovely and relaxing, although the water is freezing, but clean! You also have the cushions on the loungers (the main pool they have been removed), which makes such a difference to comfort.
Food and drinks are expensive, which you would expect from Hard Rock, but location is great, with many restaurants close by. The only thing I do not understand is why the discount offered for guests eating at the hotel does not continue to the Hard Rock Cafe?
Evening entertainment is limited, although the bands on centre stage are fantastic, that is all there is to offer, there isn't anywhere to else to go after 9pm. It can also get very busy in there, with limited seating that is often reserved.
The teen club was not very inviting and could do with a refurb and my son was disappointed that it was limited which games you could play each day, with the same games repeated. The recording studio was not working and guitar rental is for 24hours only, with a waiting list.
Overall, the rooms and hotel were lovely but not the Hard Rock experience I've had before.

Dear Loopyloo18321, I would like to thank you for being with us at the Hard Rock Hotel Bali on this trip. It has been our pleasure being with you. Really appreciate in you having the time to let us know of your stay. I am sorry to hear we did not fit in to your expectations this trip and do apologize should we fall short in anyway. Since this is high season in Bali, every other hotel is experiencing full capacity even for small luxury hotels. I understand what you meant about breakfast about being crowdy as it's not quiet being high season. You will be delighted to know we will be revamping another separate area for breakfast, you might say a second restaurant which will be for next year. The look and feel will be just like the Starz Diner with full open kitchen set ups. That should be exciting. Thanks for your feedback on the pool, my team will be checking in on it to address certain areas which might seem a little cloudy. It could be due to the replacement of filters and sand for the pumps which is totally harmless but rest assured should be eliminated very soon back to normal. F&B prices are very competitively positioned at the same level as other 5 star hotels in Bali and some cases lower than some restaurants and bars in Seminyak, Nusa Dua a like. You might like to know that the Hard Rock Cafe is separately managed and is not part of our direct management. Hence the offers are different. Our Centerstage does provide a comfortable setting with seatings for up to 200 or more including the bar. Off and on we do have regulars reserving certain seats with bottle packages etc. I hope this clarifies. We have made plans to add more gaming facilities and other design artwork including new furnitures soon to the kids club. The lullaby infants space will also be included on the makeover. This will all be happening by the end of the year. I understand other Hard Rock Hotels are all different depending on locations. Some are quite city suited, with luxury feel and resort vibe. With our renewal of many entertainment and facilities on the way you can be assured that you it will be lifted to a whole new level. Please stay in touch with our news and let us know if we can be of service for the next trip back to Bali. We shall look forward to being with you next. Regards, Andrew Hastie Executive Asst Manager

Just back from a 2 week trip to HRH Bali, I travelled with my husband and 13 year old daughter. We had a fantastic holiday, even although the weather was a bit unpredictable. We stayed in a room overlooking the gardens, room was spacious and housekeeping were amazing at keeping it clean. The only issue we had was there was not very much space to hang clothes up for 3 people for a 2 week holiday (one wardrobe). Apart from that no issues.
One thing that was different to other hotels was that they did not have a lobby area but they did have a bar/club.
We had breakfast included in our package, it was open from 6.30am until 10.30 am, the food was plentiful and of excellent standard. Always got shown to our table and never had to wait, no queues etc for meals. We always found something we wanted to eat, again the staff here were amazing and very pleasant/helpful.
The swimming pool was amazing, we have been all over the world and this pool was probably one of the best. It defo has the wow factor. It was very deep at some points, (I'm a small 5ft 2) but did have shallow water and a fantastic play area for younger non swimmers. We never had an issue getting a sun lounger, beds that were left for more than an hour had the towels removed. I wish other hotels did this.
Bottled water was left in room every day and the room had a fridge.
The location was just across from kuta beach and very close to amazing restaurants and supermarkets. Within a 10-15 min walk from waterbom. The area is really busy but we like that. We used the games room a few times as we did have 2 full days of rain, my daughter seemed to enjoy it. The hotel is spotless throughout.
Well done to all hotel staff, we did have a lovely holiday and will defo return one day.

Well what can i say had the most brilliant time in the Hard Rock hotel, i cannot signal any individual staff as all of them where wonderful. We stayed in the Rock God apartment suite and the service is brilliant, welcome is brilliant, breakfast is served in the rock restaurant and is amazing food from a full English to eggs benedict anything you want really.
The bar on an evening time is very good entertainment we would go to a local eatery and come back around 10pm the bands are very good and the bar closes around 1am so plenty of time for enjoyment.
Bali is very cheap to eat out and enjoy the nightlife safe but you have to be careful of the roads thousands of scooters every where.
I was considering somewhere different next year but i might return to Bali this time to stay here but travel a little more we just relaxed after being in hectic Hong Kong.
It is the staff what would make me return so from Gary and Lynn thank you all wonderful and a holiday to remember.
