Excellent location within walking distance to many markets, cafes& restaurants, Kuta Beach, Beach walk and discovery malls, Jalan/Legian Rd, Ground zero monument/night club strip etc
Good pool bar and outdoor areas. Good breakfast options. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Great value for money
Would stay here again and will be recommending

Some points to make:
Food and drinks were priced significantly higher than at the outside restaurants cafes or bars. We would have chosen to buy more food and drinks at the hotel if it was more competitive and reasonably priced
The airport transfers were overpriced as the hotel quoted us double the price to what we ended up organising our own private airport transfer for
The pool rooms on ground floor 101 to 106 are not ideal rooms for a relaxing time away
Rooms 101-106 are adjacent to the dining area and breakfast starts at 6 am so most morning we were woken up at 6am
This is also the passageway for all the guests to get to and from the hotel rooms so keep in mind people are also walking past these room numbers to leave and return from the hotel at all hours of the day and night

So when booking in future I would prefer not to have rooms adjacent to the dinning area -rooms 101-106

Disappointed to arrive and be told that no ground floor rooms were available although one had been requested and acknowledged when we booked in December 2019. We were allocated 307 on the upper floor for one night and then transferred to 247 for the remainder of our stay. Both rooms were very clean, comfortable beds, adequate facilities and toiletries, but we preferred 247, it was more spacious. Bed linen changed every two days. Great A/C in each room. Staff were pleasant and efficient and we enjoyed exceptional service.
Large outdoor pool with sparkling clear water; reservation of pool lounges should be better policed, ridiculous to have towels draped over empty lounges for hours before they are occupied.
Great location central to a wide range of restaurants and other facilities. We would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.

We stayed in Sol Kuta for 2 weeks. And the stay was amazing. Rooms were clean and nice, yes we did had a tiny salamander in the bathroom, but nature can come in, especially if you leave balcony open! :)
Overall great place where to stay, location is nice, rooms are great and staff is very friendly and nice. Compared to crazy selling guys on the street, these ones were super polite.
There are also 2 pools (plus one for kids) in the middle of hotel complex, it is clean, there are sunbathing options and even a book shelf for English, German and Russian readers. Most of the guests are Australians, so even if you travel alone, you will always find someone to talk to and drink Bintang in the pool bar! :)

If there is something that could be improved it is the food serving time in restaurant. On the last day, before leaving we did asked can we fit in 30min, waitress said yes, but it was more than 30min. And as we had several meals in hotel restaurant, I can say that service was slow. But, there are many places where to eat outside of the hotel as well, so if you are in a hurry, go there!

Stayed for 2 nights and found a room with bit of dirty bed sheet with spots on them also ants seen crawling near the bed and wall, flies hovering around the table waiting to suckle on the breakfast on any table.

the staff didnt pay much attention when a fly bussing around the buffet or guest tables to keep the food fresh and clean, they just ignore the fly problem howevering any unclosesd or uncover food items. Also the room was kind smells bad.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with mouldy sheets with what seemed to be blood on them...we had them changed 3 times to ‘clean’ sheets each time getting worse. After the room itself was different to images advertised and 3 lots of disgusting sheets I asked for the room to be changed. I was told well that is the room you booked. I persisted and was shown another room where the sheets were even worse and covered in mould. We were t Th en changed to a more modern room, however the sheets were still stained and smelt of mould.
The appliances such as aircon and fridge were extremely loud making it difficult to sleep. Buffet breakfast was pretty standard however not a large range. Out of all
The places we have stayed this would be the worst in cleanliness and staff friendliness. Disappointing.

I regret the hotel did not perform up to your expectations and I apologise for the dissatisfaction we caused. Rest assured that I will personally investigate the mentioned issues which do not reflect the quality we have been generally delivering throughout the years. I hope you had a nice vacation after all, and I can only wish you would return so I could personally welcome you and provide you with the right experience. We have just returned from 6 nights at the hotel. Breakfast had a huge selection. The staff were super friendly. When I explained it was my husbands birthday they brought him a cake and sang happy birthday at breakfast. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a garden view and it was beautiful (way better than the expensive rooms)
The hotel is in a good location. It’s set back from the road so you can’t hear much of the traffic outside. We would stay here again.

We were planning to head to Bali in April, but COVID put a stop to that. All of our bookings and flights were refunded as Australia issued a "do not travel" warning. We had even booked with individual Indonesians in quiet areas of Bali who would rely on their villas being booked as their income... they all refunded immediately. I wrote to SOL as soon as we knew we couldn't travel, and they asked for proof so I provided them with a statement from the government. They then stated (on the 16th of March) that they would provide me with a refund. After continually following up they assure me that it will happen, and that they are so busy refunding that they have not been able to get to me yet. Seems more like they are hoping that I forget. I have been back and forth for almost three months with no avail. I didn't want to have to write this, but be warned, they are difficult and hope that you forget. The frustrating thing is that it is a chain. If it was a local Balinese person I would forget about it, as I would know it would be going to a family, but this is going to the CEO's pocket. I am disappointed and frustrated and will never be booking with any SOL hotel again.

TL;DR- If you’re considering booking here
-RUN.

I feel for the Melia name and booked here for 4 nights with breakfast. Break fast is really bad. They serve greasy, dry, inedible food. You’ve to pay additional money to get a rather disappointing coffee. Save your tummy and taste buds by eating outside.

I had complained that the AC in my room had issues for days to no avail. I write this review while my aircon is running like a chopper. Their room service is terrible too. Asked for water and had to wait for 4 hours and a visit down to the lobby to get one. They forgot to keep towels in my room. We came back from a long tour at midnight to find this and had to call their reception again to get this fixed. Their swimming pool was a mini gutter for 2 days, and unusable.

To top all these incompetence they openly discriminate guests with something as basic as the towels. Folks in the older buildings get a worn out, crappy towel while the ones in the newer blocks get a decent one. It was very insulting to be around this.

A $20 hostel provide a better experience than this.

The bed linen is Disgusting, clean but very stained. Towles are thread bear and stained. They wipe over the floor with towels before removing them. When rooms are cleaned there is only one cloth used for everything, toilet, benches, wiping of drinking glass's.
Breakfasts, food cold in baymaries, cooking section very slow and lines to get anything are long. Staff are friendly. Coffee in very strong mud like.
Pool area is a charm of this hotel.

We have been to Bali many times, but never stayed in Kuta as it used to be full of loud partygoers and it didn't feel safe at night. This time we decided to give the Kuta Beach Club Hotel a go and we are so pleased we did. The rooms are well designed with walk in showers, very comfortable beds and plenty of room to move about. We stayed in the Premium rooms right by the pool, the windows and doors are double glazed so if you are not a morning person you won't be woken. The breakfast is normal Balinese fare with an egg station and plenty of accompaniments. Great fruit, pancakes etc.
The pool area is fabulous, there are 2 pools one with a swim up to bar.
Staff are exceptionally friendly and kind hearted.
I have scored this hotel 1 less point as the bathroom and pool towels are not great and the cleaning is a little haphazard but saying that we will definitely be back.
You are close to Kuta beach and there is no traffic noise at all sitting by the pool. Street has restaurants.
Make sure you look up the Bali Turtle release programme, such a privilege to being able to do something so amazing.
