The hotel is a masterpiece, the pictures don't do justice to the actual view and cool breeze that you feel while having their amazing breakfast buffet. The pool is pretty great during sunset andtheir ocean side restaurant serves great food as well. Overall an amazing property.

We stayed for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel. We were disappointed about the swim up pool bar being under renovation but understand that it needed to happen. This didn't stop us for ordering daily drinks around the pool. The pool itself is beautiful, clean and huge. We ate at Sokube a couple of times, the food is fantastic, along with the live music and DJ. Our room was a garden view, which we were lucky enough to also have a view of the ocean as we were on L4. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and I would say, in need of a of TLC, but shower was good. The staff at The Pond and Sokube were great and very accommodating. Breakfast at The Pond was very good, with a good selection across the board. A little message to future guests, don't reserve pool lounges all day in the shade and not come to use the actual pool til the afternoon, it is very rude. Hotel probably should enforce a rule on this.. Overall, the hotel buildings need a lick of paint and a freshen up, but we had a great, relaxing time and will happily return.…

Perfect place to switch off from our hectic lifestyle. Nice pool bar!!! You can watch the sunset and sunrise from the back of the hotel. The discovery restaurant downstairs has a live band every night, you can request your favourite song in English or Indonesian. 15 minutes walk to City beach Mall. This hotel has a pleasant, soothing ambience. I’ll come back 😊.

We are returning customers to the Kartika Plaza Hotel, have enjoyed many years relaxing around the pool, had great service and variety of food and drink from various restaurants with in the complex. Returned September 22 for 10nights after Covid restrictions eased, we fully understood some aspects wouldn’t be the same, but sadly what we were not aware of was major works which were in progress that fully disrupted our stay, due to noise, dust and general reduction in services. Currently we are staying once again after being reassured by reading the renovations were completed October ‘22 on the hotels website. On our arrival we were advised the swim up bar was being upgraded therefore would not available for use, which has turned out to be a repeat of our September experience. Once again we are dealing with noise, dust, and reduction of services which we looked forward to enjoying. From early morning to late at night banging, drilling and dust continues making the pool area almost impossible to enjoy. The gardeners using petrol whipper snipers to ‘mow’ grassed areas during our first three days caused my wife to experience asthma episodes, after discussion with a manager this thankfully has ceased. We feel the hotel is no longer worthy of its 5 star rating, and is living on its past reputation. For us we have lost confidence in this hotel and will probably not return which saddens us as the staff have always taken extreme care of my wife who has food allergies, and because of this we have always returned to Discovery Kartika Plaza. It’s time for us to find a new preferred 5 star hotel that provides the ambience travellers anticipate, sadly DKP no longer provides the magic it once did so well. …

Dear Mr.Philip, I sincerely apologize for your unpleasant experience during your stay and fully understand of your disappointment. My deepest regret that our Hotel have not met your expectations. We have renovated hotel rooms, public areas and Hotel restaurants including other corners of the resort in order to keep up with the property aging. We are very sad to know that our guests are disturbed by the projects we are doing. I would like to communicate that on this occasion our Pool bar had to undergo a sudden emergency renovation due to structural issues that was affecting our guest safety after an audit, therefore there was no timeline for us to communicate this in our Website. I certainly hope that this unfortunate experience has not affected your decide to stay in Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Bali in the next future. We are returning guests because we are more then satisfied about the service of the staff at breakfast, cleaning, pool and kul kul bar, lobby and rest of hotel. The location nearby the sea and the open character of hotel and pool/garden area is also a surplus. Big big big shoutout to the new chef M. that created the most delicious starters of my day (diet of no-gluten and no-diary), see pictures. Hotel is now in a process of renovation to make the hotel again modern and future proof. So looking forward to our next stay.

This is a really nice hotel close to everything in Kuta, but in serious need of room renovation. The grounds and the pool are beautiful. No beach access except for quite a walk before hand. The worst part is the bathroom, with the shower over the bath.

Discovery Kartika Plaza is like our “second home” when we visiting Bali. All the staff are super lovely, warm, helpful and friendly. They are always trying to accommodate our request especially mbak Fidelia Somba. We loved that now Discovery Kartika Plaza added playground for younger kids. Little suggestion in regards of the rooms, maybe a little touch up to refresh as the rooms seems a little bit a little tired looking. Otherwise Discovery Kartika Plaza has the charms that no other hotels can compete.

When we arrived at the hotel we found that they were updating the restaurant so for the first few days of our stay we had breakfast in the ballroom. However there was minimal disruption and overall our stay was excellent. Our room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Security was tight because we was staying at the hotel just prior to the G20. The exchange rate at the hotel was the best in Kuta.

Having read a lot of bad reviews i was very sceptical about staying at Kartika. Our original booking was for March 2020, they had kept our deposit and honoured our booking. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Discovery Suite on the 4th floor. It was extremely generous in size. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets, living area and balcony. The view over the pool, gardens and ocean was lovely. Parts of the suite were looking very tired but all was in working order. Buffet breakfast was what you would expect from a big hotel, the pool was huge with plenty of room to yourself. There was loud music at night which we expected from the reviews. It didn't bother us but did make us wonder why they would do that. Especially when there seemed to be very few people enjoying it. Sadly the area around Kartika doesn't have a great deal to offer anymore. The crowds have moved to Canngu. The beach was very average, the shopping wasn't great. There are a couple of good restaurants but that was about it. All in all i was not as disappointed as i expected to be given the recent reviews.…

I used to be a regular client in this hotel where I came once to twice a year. The staff is friendly the room oldish but comfortable, restaurants with a variety of menus, a swimming pool very large and, since I prefer to turn off the air-con and open the window a beautiful view on the sea and at night a powerful inducer to sleeping that is the regular lulling of the waves. At breakfast a pianist gave a Viennese tonality. However since this year a new manager is in charge whose credo is "Entertainment." In place of the Japanese restaurant there is a "beach club". The music is blaring up to late in the night competing with the bands of two other restaurants in the hotel. The pianist in the morning was dismissed as being noisy. My wife went to complain about the noise at night. She never was heard so the third week of our sojourn (exactly after the G20) she posted on her facebook page the photo of the decibels recorded in our room: 82 The next day she was summoned at the manager office and was told to leave the hotel. Since we paid in advance for three rooms it was to be understood that the money paid in advance covering two more weeks would only be returned when the post would be removed. The post was removed but the monies. #2000€, were returned after two hard weeks and numerous interventions from some Balinese friends. The staff confided in having their salaries blocked unless they accepted to work extra hours... for free. Some said they were slapped or beaten for refusing.. For these reason a case initiated by someone of the staff was said to be processed in the court... …
