We loved everything about Poppies. It’s a charming, comfortable and pretty place to stay. The cottages were beautiful and very clean and everything worked as it should. The design is so clever that you can’t see other cottage entrances from other cottages. This made it all seem so lovely and private. A favourite spot was in the pool on the sitting ledge reading a book; all but my hands and head was in the water. Glorious! The man who attended the pool made sure it was always very clean and sparkly and he also looked after the adjacent pool bar and the the freshly laundered pool towels. Our other favourite spot was on our verandah where we enjoyed our delicious breakfast each day and also a delicious sate dinner; the room service was provided by the excellent kitchen in Poppies restaurant which is just across the lane. We had a glorious stay and would happily have stayed much, much longer.…

We wanted a place to stay to do a bit of shopping and get our heads down following the journey to Bali. We know Poppies Lane from the past and wanted to revisit. We'd eaten at Poppies restaurant a few times so thought let's stay opposite. It really is a little haven in chaotic Kuta, an oasis of calm. The individual cottages are in a beautiful maze of a garden with a wonderful food. Breakfast is served to your room or in the restaurant over the road. We loved it and it was a perfect two nights In room wifi could be a bit better

Well maintained, established cottages. The place is quiet (though fully booked) and peaceful. Pool is beautiful, surrounded by lush gardens and cocking crows. We ordered food from Poppies restaurant to have by the pool and it was a real treat. The blinds keep the room very dark, the air con is fantastic. We slept very well. The service is fantastic- nothing too much trouble. Kuta is very dead at the moment. Many closed/empty shops and obviously past it's heyday but Poppies is an oasis, as ever it was.

Another beautiful and memorable stay. So relaxing and peaceful to stroll through the gardens to your own secluded cottage. The gardens are immaculate and the ponds with many large fish eagerly keeping you amused. Such a comfortable room, up grades have been made to the tap wear and toilet; a plus. I had the surprise of a welcome back bouquet waiting for me on the table. It was lovely to walk across the laneway each morning to have a superb breakfast at Poppies Restaurant.

Poppies Cottages in Kuta. An oasis in the middle of possibly “ Old Kuta “ Poppies One once the heartbeat of Kuta, somewhat paralized by Covid 19 but Poppies Cottages has remained resolute, complete with staff and standards. You would have to travel a long way to find such style, commitment and attention to detail. The gardens remind me of the Island of Torchello in the outer lagoon close to Venice. The architecture, look closely, you will not see this in a hurry again I can assure - we still find it quite mesmerising in this day and age, you will not find a lava rock pool like the one at Poppies. We have been travelling to Indonesia non stop for 35 years and Poppies has been our home away from home over this time. Even the music that gets piped through at the restaurant is as old as John Taylor himself. The staff know what they are doing and are clearly well trained, kind and attentive.…

We have been there before and would love to come again. A small oasis of calm and lovely surroundings and outside the walls there is noise and chaos but also experiences and shopping opportunities. Enjoy the day by the pool and eat good food at their restaurant a few steps up the road.

We arrived at Poppies last night. From airport pick up to hotel reception and room transfer, the service has been astoundingly friendly. Welcome cocktails and luggage transfer, plus pay at checkout, a warm reception. Upon entering the tatched roof hut, the room was cool and air conditioned. Having (straw? coconut?) roof, the hut does smell quite distinct, which we personally love. The outdoor garden bathroom is very spacious with insect screens installed on the roof. Birds are singing in the morning. The garden and pool are very beautiful. We can't wait to explore more of Poppies.

TBH we don’t love Kuta as a whole, however this place and a couple of great restaurants near by make this a very relaxing & enjoyable holiday. You can not fault Poppies, it’s like you’re somewhere else completely & when you walk through the entrance you leave behind the hustle and bustle of the Kuta streets for tranquil gardens and relaxing pool area. The little villas are wonderfully clean & comfortable with all the amenities you need including Netflix (which we used more than anticipated due to a fair bit of rain in the afternoons) Drinks are served around the pool which is great and the staff both at Poppies and their restaurant across the road are FABULOUS. Breakfast was also great and plentiful. We’ve loved it so much we have booked to come back next Xmas. Our fave restaurants are- Crumb and coaster (10 min walk) Un’s (3 min walk) Poppies restaurant (across the road)…
