We know Kuta can be a bit hectic, but we wanted to stay closer to the airport before we flew out of Bali.

They put us in one of the rooms closest to the Royal Jack Sports Bar which plays loud music ending some time between 11pm and 1am. Definitely not restful. We also booked a double/queen bedroom and they gave us a room with twin beds.

Room was a decent design. Some good English channels on the tv. Could have been a bit cleaner. Provided robes, a kettle, coffee/tea.

Great location. Close to some great cafes and eateries (like Crumb & Coaster) and short walk to the Beachwalk shopping center and the beach. Easy drive to the airport from here.

I would only stay here again if we would be given a quieter room.

We stayed here in January 2020, a family of 5 (20, 17 and 13) We all would stay again if choosing to stay in that location which is on Poppies 2 so extremely busy as soon as you step out of the hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful as we checked out to travel to Gili Air for 3 days and were than happy to store our luggage till we returned. The pool is really well looked after and sparkling clean. There are 2 pools, both with their own pool bar. The pool access rooms looked great although we had a room on the 2nd floor looking over the main pool and it was lovely. All in all a great hotel for the price.

We stayed here for 10 nights with other family members and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, staff are friendly. The best part is the pool area with a swim up bar. Great area to unwind and relax. Food was also delicious. Considering the cost per night isn’t significantly high this hotel is such great value. Would definitely stay again - thank you!

We are very saddened by the state of the Grand Barong, we have stayed here many times but no more the location is great and staff are friendly but everything else is bad and every visit getting worse,
No hot water we told reception many times we need a hot shower but never had one, there was centipedes in our show and mould we had to a few times ask for toilet paper as our cleaner was not restocking it and then once returned to our room to find the cleaner had not closed our door so anybody could of came in so that was a concern.
Breakfast has been the same food for years and it is always cold.
The swimming pool most of the furniture needs replacing and the whole area needs a good clean.
We were really concerned watching intoxicated guests harassing women and families out at the pool and sitting all day at the pool bar and we didn’t use the pool due to this reason.
The money exchange is good and reliable.
Hopefully the Grand Barong can be refurbished but at the moment we definitely would not recommend staying here and we will find other accommodation in the area for next time.

Been to Bali many times, was going to stay here for week with my partner & kids. Booked online with Booking.com and due to my father suddenly passing on the day we were meant to go to Bali for our christmas and special celebration couldn't go. Our world was already upside down. I contacted the hotel and Booking.com to cancel and explain what happened. They would not even consider a change of dates like all the other hotel's we had booked obliged or gave a refund. They were no refund cancellations but were very considerate. After Grand Barong requested a copy of death certificate, they would not give a refund or date changed. Booking.com were kind enough to give a partial credit as good will gesture. I will not recommend this hotel if they are not flexible to guests situations.

Currently in Bali, booked the barong for 8 nights and would not recommend. Changed hotels after 3 nights. Staff were lovely but room was dirty and really not great. we left our clean our room sign out at 8am returned at 6pm and hadn’t even been attended to, water in the shower was cold and would take a good 10 minutes to warm up. Breakfast was below average. Extremely noisy so you only sleep if you have ear plugs. Drunk screaming and fight guests all night, slamming doors and generally being inconsiderate. Location is okay if you’re wanting busy. Road leaving was grid locked at times and it was quicker to walk the same distance instead of drive. I say the staff are lovely but when you compare the place to the hotel we are at now you realise how much the barong is lacking in all areas.

Grand Barong is perfect!
It has everything, amazing pool, swim up bar, beautiful breakfast and it’s close to everything.

This is our second time and we will be back.

The bathrooms could do with a bit of an upgrade and shower walls could have a good scrub, but other than that- it is amazing. We will return!

Had a cracker week here with 13 friends awesome hotel stayed in lagoon pool room right outside the pool bar if you like an afternoon nap it's not for you.

If you like entertaining your mates then it's spot on we had a cracker of a getaway.

Central to lots of bars and cafes nearby the money changer in reception has betterer rates then most it was 9995 on Thursday night.

Thanks Barong it's our 6th stay here never disappoints.

I found this hotel did not value its customers but only wanted to make as much money out of them as possible .
Any request was meet with a sorry but since you booked with booking.com we cant help you, you will have to take it up with them.
We had 4 Deluxe rooms booked and wanted another 1 for my brother and was charged top price.
Restaurant service very poor and the food average we only ate there twice.
Breakfast was ok so long as you realised you could order eggs and coffee
This is not explained to start with.
Very busy hotel ...

The worst hotel that we have ever stayed! Do not stay there! The room was not clean, there was so much dusty and dozens of hairs. It smells like sewer. The towels and linens were dirty and with spots of blood. The breakfast is a joke... bad joke! There were food left outside of many doors and none collected it during the day. The pool did not have clean water.
Just do not stay there! There are other wonderful hotel next to this

Yes they have a tour desk but generally speaking you can get better prices by bargaining with various tour desks and stalls out and about in the streets
