For 12 Birthday our son would like to celebrate somewhere on the beach with his friends, I decided to contact the Laguna team and from the first moment we communicate until the day of the event, we feel so welcome and taken care of. Our event was handle by Shyntia (event organise) and Pak Suka from the recreation team. We have 10 kids in total and and was worried if they get bored just by swimming in the sea. Pak suka managed to came up with 5 challenging games for the boys. From 11.30 to 4pm..everything run super smoothly. We had 2 set up table at the Arwana restaurants on the beach. For the boys and for the adults. The games for all run on the beach and super fun. From the minefield, snowhite to SpongeBob bucket. We specifically also asked for unusual cakes “hot lava cakes” we are super happy the wonderful Chef managed to create a gigantic Lava cakes. The boys was in AWE to see the melting chocolate when he cut the cakes 👏 We could not asked for better service and organisation. Thank you so much The Laguna Resort team. We will Definately come back again next year for another Birthday event 💥💥💥

Hotel's Favourite
This is the fifth time I have stayed in Nusa Dua spanning a 25 year period and the second time I have stayed at the Laguna (the last time 6 years ago). I have also stayed at the Melia twice and the Nusa Dua beach resort hotel in the same area (all were decent by the way) but I have to say that the Laguna is the best one. We stayed 14 nights from 1st-15th August as a family of four with two interconnecting rooms as we had a great holiday here 6 years ago. Firstly the hotel itself. It is on our favourite bit of beach in Nusa Dua and is currently undergoing some renovations (as most hotels are due to the G20 finance ministers visiting in November). That said, you could not hear any work happening where the new rooms are being worked on and you would have to look for where this is going on. I think they are nearly done here (there is still extensive work going on at the Westin hotel next door I notice though but that does not affect guests at the Laguna.) What I like most about the hotel grounds are its setting in gardens and the extensive lagoons around the buildings, none of which look like a huge corporate monstrosity that you see with some of the newer modern hotels in Bali. Basically there is a very homely feel about the place that the staff make a conscious effort to enhance. We had two newly renovated rooms and they were gorgeous, such an upgrade from the older rooms we had six years ago especially the bathrooms. The new lobby is stunning as well with a great Murano chandelier the centrepiece. The main pool was very quiet in the morning but got livelier later on as the sun got hotter. It was never loud and there are some nice big floating beanbags available to laze on . There are also many saltwater lagoons around the property and you can literally swim out of the lagoon access rooms and right round the property and under a waterfall though we were not in a lagoon room but a standard one a bit higher up. The beach is gorgeous of course and you can walk right out to the reef when the tide is out and when the tide is in the water is almost always crystal clear. On a clear day, the volcano in the north of the Island (Mt Agung) is clearly visible. Overall the real differentiator for this hotel are the staff. I know this is a long read but there are some that I want to acknowledge. They all knew our names and treated us like royalty. For example, every morning at the very extensive and delicious breakfast buffet, we were able to select the (many) dishes we wanted but also, a couple of the hosts there would learn what we picked up each day and bring us dishes of pastries and plates of fruit to adorn our table as well as creating special smoothies for us all. They worked tirelessly (Thanks Pratama and Sukasana) and they would come and offer us some indigenous dishes to try specially created by the chef and even cooked dishes specifically for us. The managers such as Ayu and Shintya would come and ask how we were each day and what our plans were. It was a marvellous experience and made us feel like VIPs….small things like that are what makes a 5 star resort in my opinion. We chose to do the epicurean journey one morning as we all enjoy cooking and this was where the chef took us to a fish market near Jimbaran Bay (Kadunganan) to select some freshly caught fish from the market and then we came back and prepared and cooked the meal outside with the chef. One of the managers at the main restaurant that had looked after us at breakfast and really got to know us (Shintya) joined us and we were then able to create and eat the delicious meal. A great experience. Basically from sea to lunch table…..I would seriously recommend this experience. On the subject of food, the great breakfast service is at Banyubiru but they also have Arwana open in the evening where you can dine on the beach, Its not cheap but given the fact it is a resort hotel and you are on a beautiful beach (literally if you want) I don’t think it is too bad price-wise (with the exception of wine which is overpriced everywhere in Bali not just here). The food is excellent. Another example of the great service was that one of the pool guys (Suandi) got to know us when we arrived at the pool and reserved seats for us and chatted to us each morning about the weather, the island, our plans and generally asked after our wellbeing. There are two bars at The Laguna, The Kulkul beach bar where myself and my daughter had some great chats with Purna (means Half-Moon) about the differences between our cultures and he gave us a great insight into how Indonesians live while the service was always impeccable with a great dash of humour. Yogi was also a great host at this bar as was Jessica round the pool during the day. The other bar is new and called 'de Balé’ where we always enjoyed chatting to the lovely Armini who went over and above to look after us. She used to come out and say hello every time we walked past. You can also get a light meal here like a Nasi Going or some Sate. Its very difficult to single people out like I have when everyone was superb and treated us like royalty but I always find Balinese people lovely and the staff at the resort take this to another level. One last example of how this happens is that I contacted the Hotel before I left the UK to ask about the Spa and to arrange a transfer and Daria (I think I got the name right) used WhatsApp to answer all my questions and anything else we needed even though I realised it was 5am in Bali. Nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone. To all the above and anyone else I have missed, thank you. I highly recommend this resort. You all know the beach and the area are nice but the new renovated rooms and most importantly, the staff make this the best hotel I have stayed in here and a reason why we will again travel right across the world in the future to visit Bali.

My sister and I recently stayed at the Laguna Hotel in Nusa Dua for the second time. This hotel is in a beautiful setting, it isimmaculately clean and has fabulous facilities, but what impressed me the most was the outstanding customer service given by all the staff there. Andy, Norman and the team in the Arwana Restaurant went out of their way to make my birthday meal extra special, reserving us a specially arranged table and serving us exceptional food - they even provided me a lovely birthday cake! Also the team at the De Bale bar went out of their way to make our stay memorable, especially the lovely Lilly who remembered us from our stay in 2019, and Aprin who made my birthday special. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone as outstanding and hope to return in the future.

This review is well over due! From the moment we arrived to the day we left, Lucia and her wonderful staff did everything possible to make our 10 days at the Laguna truly memorable. Our trip celebrated a special birthday for my wife and anniversary of when we first met. Have been to Bali many times, staying in Nusa Dua on a few occasions; the Laguna wins hands down as the best hotel on that stretch of coast line. Food, room(s), facilities, cleanliness and most importantly staff are all 5 star. Very sad to leave as were my 3 teenage kids, we'll be back! Thanks Lucia

We have just returned from an amazing holiday to Bali and Australia. Our hotel in Bali was by far the highlight of the trip! On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a lovely fruit drink and ice cold cloths to freshen up. After checking in we were shown to our beautiful room overlooking the gorgeous pool. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and well cared for and the staff themselves were second to none. Although too many to mention Andy and Norman in the Arwana restaurant were kindness itself going out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous dining experience. In the lovely relaxing De Bale Bar was Lily, Aprin, Mana, Shirin Suka and Ping…. Every single one of them went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. There were also the lovely helpful staff around the pool every day who were happy caring and efficient. This hotel and staff were exceptional and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s our 3rd visit here and I can’t wait to return

The hotel is very nice, all newly renovated, more swimming pools than you can ever use and direct access to a lovely beach. Amazing spread of breakfast catering for every taste. The highlight of our visit was the amazing staff, they could not do enough for you and they all remember your name! A special mention must go to Lilik and Arminian - you must go for cocktails at happy hour, at De Bale bar & lounge. Also down to the beach bar, Kulkul bar, for lunch or drinks over looking the sea. Nuaja will look after you so well. At breakfast all the staff were amazing but Made Suardika and Ade will make you special morning Balanese juices, called Jamu, We can’t wait to go back it was so relaxing, we highly recommend it, having stayed in two other hotels very near, this is definitely the best.

We have been coming to the Laguna for the past 20 years, this was our 10th return visit. For a resort which was built in 1991 it has always maintained high standards, beautiful gardens and now re-furbished rooms, but the best feature is its well trained and delightful staff, many of whom we have known for over 20 years and their loyalty to the Laguna is testimony to how well they are treated by management and how much they love working at this Resort. There have been some changes since our last visit (2017 due to covid etc). The Cascade Bar has been renamed and refurbished as the Bale with a snack menu and a new dinner menu. Lovely spot for a pre-dinner drink, with happy hour from 5.00 to 7.00pm. The Cornerstone Deli still operates for ice cream/cakes/sandwiches but has not yet got a new menu, which we understand is forthcoming. Banyubiru still operates for breakfast and buffett dinner when occupancy rates allow. Meals are also available at the beach bar, Kul Kul and Arwana is the main beach side restaruant offering an array of local and international dishes each evening. Special dinners, such as a Market Night on Wednesday's and Sunday Brunch are also well worth trying. The Pools are always kept clean with plenty of day beds and the pool staff are ever willing to attend to your every need such as water or fresh towels. On this occasion we stayed for 3 weeks and the hotel was low on occupancy due to its imminent closure to guests due to the G20 which will result in the entire Nusa Dua area being a high security zone. We love coming back to this resort and greatly appreciate the fact that the staff remember us and we are acknowledged as loyal and return guests. There are so many staff members that we would like to mention, some who will be retiring soon and we may not see them again, which will be sad, as we feel part of a big family. To the Pool staff Sudra, Suandi, Argus and Mesadi thank you for setting up our Bale Belong and keeping us comfortable with fresh towels, water and fruit. Thank you Suka for your management of the Recreation, our chats and tips on places and things to do. The Breakfast Staff at Banyubiru, too many to mention, who all did a great job, but in particular a big thank you to Widyiani, Augstina and Sekary-anti who fussed over us at breakfast and brought us lovely fresh fruit, including our favourite mango and passionfruit. Also fond wishes to little Diah a delightful and funny young trainee. We should also mention the restaurant hostess, Dayu and Shynthia, Guest Relations. Naturally we spent some time at the beach bar Kul Kul and the Bale and were well looked after by Yudha, Yogi, Wibawi, Venny, Alit, Nuaja Ngr, Anyar, Aprin, thank you so much. We had dinner at the Arwana on many occasions and were pampered by Andy and Arya who went out of their way to organise dietery needs and our waitress, Sussimi. We should not fail to mention Wadi, Desa, Rosita, Muliani and Mersi, who pampared us with lovely relaxing massages which can be had in the spa or on the beach. To our dear friends who always seem to know when we are returning and greet us at Reception, thank you Ketut Arcana and Putu Ins. A very special thank you to our Dear Friend Dayu Murtini who we first met 21 years ago who has become a close family friend of whom we are so proud of her achievements and progress to HR Manager at the Laguna. A special thank you to Lucia the Hotel GM for dedication to the Laguna and Marriott/Bonvoy group in keeping this Resort in its rightful ranking as one of the best beach resorts in Nusa Dua. Yes there are bigger and glossier resorts at Nusa Dua, but if you want to feel like you are in Bali and enjoy the peaceful surrounds and wonderful staff, then there is no other place. We look forward to returning in the near future and look forward to seeing the proposed changes to the Kul Kul Bar and Arwana. If there was to be a very slight negative, it would only be that food option are a little limited (perhaps due to a new Chef just starting and the hotel recovering after Covid). Another kitchen in the proposed new Kul Kul and Pool area might allow for my more variety and faster service.

Thank you to all of the staff for giving us a memorable and relaxing vacation. The hotel vibe provides a perfect atmosphere for relaxing compared to the louder, neighboring hotels which also can be accessed from the beachfront if desired. The food quality at Laguna is very good. The only area for improvement is to address the flies around the bananas and sushi area at breakfast. For those taking B&B/HB options, Bali Collection is a 10 min walk and has a number of different restaurants, providing enough choice outside of the hotel for a weeks' stay.

Love their new tone color around the rooms and hotels. Really modern and fresh. Some furniture also changed. Spacious room, 7 pools including salt water pool. Private beach also included that you can enjoy with your kids. It’s breakfast also provided in wide variety foods and dietary. Love it to max

We stayed at The Laguna for 10 nights in the Garden Pool Villa which was a huge villa with plenty of space, a great cabana and a long swimming pool – all the luxuries of a villa with the full service! The hotel staff members with whom we came in contact were kind and professional and they did everything to made us feel special. They all knew our names and gave the most kind and warm service. Our butlers Suardana, Nuarta, Aris and Parna were just amazing! Suardana was primarily our butler and he was so friendly and kind and helped us with everything - booking dinners, finding special gifts, bringing us our favorite fruits etc. Thank you for everything, you are the best! Our breakfast and special theme dinners were at Banyubiru restaurant which is a great restaurant with excellent food. The staff there was wonderful, especially Yuli, Sekaryanti and restoran assistant manager Mr Suardika who greeted us personally every morning. We also had some dinners at Cornerstone Deli, where a special room was prepared for us (thanks again to our super-butler Suardana). The food there was lovely and special thanks to Rima and Ana who were wonderful! We would also like to thank the pool guys Suandi and Niko who reserved our seats and brought extra towels for us every morning. The whole hotel team really made us feel like family and we are already planned a next trip there! To all above and everyone else we forgot to mention, thank you and see you again in March 2023!
