Nestled in a prime beachfront spot, Ayodya Resort Bali captivates guests with its traditional Balinese atmosphere and soothing live music, though some feel a refresh is in order. The resort's array of amenities, from the multiple pools to diverse dining options, are highly praised, as is the value for money, especially with the all-inclusive packages.
While the rooms are appreciated for their spaciousness, renovation is a recurring suggestion due to datedness and cleanliness concerns. Service quality appears to vary, oscillating between outstanding and lackluster.

Detailed Reviews
Great resort with very inviting outdoor areas. There is a lovely area by the beach with bean bags and low tables with a picnic blanket style eating area. The food options range from pricier restaurants to food stalls around the beach. I frequently ate at the later and sat outside next to the beach. You can also buy fresh coconuts at one of those stalls. The only food I cannot recommend is the pizza at the restaurant next to the infinity pool. The Ayodya resort offered the biggest breakfast buffet I have seen in Bali. They offered everything from Western and Indonesian food.
The resort has very nice grounds with the lagoon, two pools (I highly recommend the infinity pool) and beach area with normal beach beds and bean bags in different shapes. There is definitely enough space for everyone and finding a spot was never a problem. The resort was also mosquito free when I was there in June 2019.
The staff was very friendly, albeit some were very obviously fishing for tips. The prices are similar to European standard - so expensive for Bali.
There are some water activities offered at the beach, but I didn't book any of them. You can easily walk to the water blow from the resort and just walk along the beach. However, make sure to go there during high tide.
Some travel operators offer tours starting from the resort. The folders from each company can be viewed in the lounge area next to reception. I actually had a look at them but when compared to other tours I had done before staying here, the offers were way overpriced. Maybe check with other operators before and book with another company.
The room came with four bottles of water (300 mL each) per day. The WiFi was decent in the room and at the infinity pool, but in general there were some spots with weak signals at the other pool. When I first arrived, the room smelled of smoke. I noticed it again one morning while being in the room, which made me wonder if someone was smoking next to the aircon so that the smoke was pumped into the room?
The furniture was rather old in my room and also the pool in the middle of the resort has seen better days. What really put me off though was the fact that the beach towels had dark stains on them twice. Please replace towels if you cannot get them clean anymore but do not hand them to new customers!
Nusa Dua is an enclosed touristic area and traveling there feels a bit off if you don't know about the security gate and guards in front of the area.
If you have to wait to get to your room or for your pickup, I highly recommend the bar in the lobby. From there you have a view over the lagoon, can order a nice big ice tea that comes with snacks and syrup to sweeten it to your liking.

Stayed in the Palace part of this wonderful hotel. As a family group we stayed at this hotel specifically for its traditional Balinese feel. We decided to splurge a little and go the Palace rooms. So absolutely worth the extra money. Two of us were lucky enough to be ungraded to a suite which was just beautiful.
The palace rooms entitles you to your own Palace pool which is so much whiter than the other pools. However children are not allowed in this pool so not great if you have little ones.
You also are entitled to daily cocktails and canapés from 6-7.30. Which were superb and your own breakfast area which was very lovely. Very calm and you could order a la carte if you wished.. which I did every day. All up the Palace rooms were just a little quieter and less busy which was perfect for us.
I would return to the ayodya but only to stay in the Palace rooms.
The staff were amazing. My only small thing is you are meant to be able to have a 3 pm
Check out if available. We were told our rooms had other guests coming in. As soon as we said we were happy to pay, they became available. Regardless it was a wonderful stay. I would unreservedly recommend the Ayodya Palace suites.

This is a very well laid out resort with lots of open space. Typical Balinese architecture with lots of open space. The lobby has a large seating area. There is a stage on the opposite side of the lobby where artists perform dances every evening. The rooms are large and spacious with a balcony. Good size bath with spacious counter for keeping toiletries etc.
There are several restaurants and bars spread out over the property. Well spaced out buildings. Lots of swimming pools and a great beach front bar and restaurant. Great ambience. Very quiet in spite of size.
The Waterfall restaurant good. however, avoid the Mongolian barbeque, this was basically lots of noodles with a sprinkling of meat. They do not have the various sauces that make up the dish. I asked for a meat and seafood mix and all I got was 2 small pieces of beef!! Extremely pricey at Idr 445,000 (about US$32) for a plate of noodles!
They give out discount coupons worth IDR 100k. You may have to ask for them. This entitles you to that discount for a minimum spend of Idr 300k on a single receipt. We broke our receipts into two to use up the coupons. Get the coupons for lunch n dinner.
Unfortunately, the bathroom gutter smells. In fact we were on the 1 series wing and the area around the lift also had a gutter smell. Looks like they need to work on their drainage.
You get 2 bottles of water per person, however they are small. We had to replenish with water from the nearby store. Ironing board on request. Safe and coffee making facility.
There is a free shuttle from the resort to Bali Collections, an open area with plenty of restaurants and shops selling clothes, handicrafts. Worth a visit and a meal or two!
Since we were 5 adults and 2 small kids, we rented a large car (Toyota Innova) from the travel desk for IDR800k for 6 hrs. Worth it, as the drive anywhere can be anything between 30 mins to an hour.
The hotel has friendly and helpful staff. we enjoyed our week at this hotel as there is so much you can do.

My husband booked a Luxury Escapes package for this Hotel. Upon confirmation, we were advised that a Lagoon View Room would not be available, despite having booked nine months in advance, and being a returning guest. As a Luxury Escapes guest you are treated as a second-rate guest by this Hotel, the room rate is standard, and not discounted, and the 'inclusions', eg a two course meal does not even include a cup of tea or coffee at the end of the meal. There are better offers and better Hotels.. .

Despite having a great 2 week holiday in Bali, I don't think I would rate the hotel as 5 star. The foyer and main entrance are very beautiful and the gardens and surrounding areas are stunning but once you get into your room you will feel very underwhelmed. The buildings are tired and run down and the bathrooms especially need to be fully modernised. The rooms are basic with very few plug sockets (none nearby the bed) and those that we did have didn't work or were coming off the wall. There was a terrible smell in the room coming from the drains and the air con(which kept leaking) but we were just given a can of air freshener to deal with it. The rooms aren't sound proof at all so be aware that every conversation can be heard from the surrounding rooms and outside in the halls.
The pool area is very unsafe for small children (I even saw a few adults fall over) and the tiles around the pool need securing. They are slippery and unstable. The lights inside the pool also kept coming out of their fixing which seemed very unsafe to me. On a positive note however the sun loungers were comfortable and the beach towels that they provided were very soft and good quality.
The staff are all amazing and so friendly I just think the facilities and the rooms are very run down.
The hotel also adds 21% plus government taxes onto every bill so be aware.

Loved staying at this hotel for a family holiday. The location fantastic being right on the beach, in a nice quiet area of Bali which was great for a family holiday, the staff welcoming and attentive to any request. The buffet breakfast provided offered a massive variety. Price wise is the same as Australian prices with a steep mark up on alcohol (which occurs all over Bali). Overall a great stay and would recommend this hotel for a family holiday

On our sixth visit to the Ayodya we enjoyed the pool, food, beach, room, local shops etc. as usual. This hotel is exceptional value in Nusa Dua and is perfectly positioned to walk everywhere in the local area. The staff cannot do enough to help you here and its always an amazing experience to stay here.

We stayed here on a 10 night Luxury Escapes deal as a family of four and had a fabulous holiday. I was really sceptical having read a lot of negative reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and spacious and really comfortable. Having two ground floor interconnecting rooms overlooking a private garden area was lovely. The resort is absolutely huge, with stunning gardens and water features that have to be seen to be appreciated. It is a very traditional resort that does show its age in some areas however that doesn’t deter from its beauty. The main pool is a little tired and was quite deserted during our stay, however the infinity pool overlooking the beach is perfect. Great beach location and close to local shopping areas and restaurants. My only negative is the price of the food and drinks are very high for Bali and we found it much cheaper to eat outside of the resort. Also the luxury escapes menu was quite limited and we didn’t end up using all of our vouchers for this reason. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and a beautiful outlook over the central water feature.
Overall a lovely resort that we would highly recommend.

This resort is old and very tired.
All senior staff at this resort treat guests with contempt. You are constantly reminded of the hotels policies and procedures. This is the only 5 star (self rated) resort that does NOT provide drinking water (except for guest rooms) for guest or infact allow guests to bring their own, any drinking water MUST be purchased at a cost of 50,000 rupiah ++.
The rooms are old and tired and are in desperate need for refurbishment. Having said that, there seems to be some rooms being refurbished but they are individual rooms here and there as compared to taking a section as a whole out and doing a full renovation. In the first night at this resort we had sewage from the above room leaking into our bathroom and corridor. The air conditioning in the old rooms is very temperamental and works when it wants to - we had 3 visits from the Engineers to fix it, still didn't have it fixed!
The contempt that guests are held in, in this resort by the management can be seen in the replies below by management to any negative reviews - standard impersonal replies that do not address the issues.
Unfortunately for a hotel in Bali this hotel has knocked the hospitality out of its staff towards their guests. On numerous occasions I noticed the General Manager around the premises and his attitude and demenour towards both his staff as well as guests was not welcoming nor courteous.
This resort needs a renovation and an attitude adjustment by the senior staff.

We booked a room in this hotel because it’s location in Nusa Dua. The beach was really nice (much better than Jimbaran, for example, if you don’t surf and simply swim) and clean that we really appreciated throughout our stay.
The reason for our disappointment was the terrible condition of the rooms. They were very old. Just imagine turning on/off your air conditioning via your bed table! The bathroom was a nightmare: it was old and had some mold on the walls. Furthermore, you needed to pull the lever at least 5 times to make water run through the shower. The floor in the bedroom seemed to be sticky all the time even after cleaning (because of its age).
However the stuff was helpful and the food service was also great. If you don’t mind the quality of your room’s facilities we would recommend you to stay in Ayodya.

I am from Australia and it was an all inclusive package arranged by on line Travel agent "Luxury Escapes". It was approx $7000- for 2 people for 10 nights inclusive af accommodation, all meals, all drinks , (except french champagne and some Scotch whisky). return flights from Melbourne and airport transfers.Beer was Bintang and Ringa Raja.. Excellent value. We have arranged a similar deal at a nearby resort at similar cost for same deal and leave next Thursday 21st Non. for another 10 nights.

Although, bookings are accepted upto 24hrs in advance, but are always subject to availability.
