Eric, our butler, and his team of staff were outstanding from the moment we set foot in the lobby. We were made to feel incredibly special and welcome from the outset, and this continued throughout our stay. This beautiful hotel has every conceivable comfort and amenity, and the staff's approach to ensuring our comfort was second to none. No request was too much, and we were always met with a welcoming smile, no matter the time of day. Our private pool suite was spacious and stunning, and with the added pampering of high quality bath products, linens and an included mini-bar, we wanted for nothing. Further, the staff thoroughly yet discreetly serviced the room several times each day, so that we never wanted for anything. I would not hesitate in staying at Awarta again in the future; indeed, it will be the first place I will look for availability on my next visit to beautiful Bali. Thank you Eric and the team at Awarta. You made our holiday a very special one. Until next visit, terima kasih.…
Our small family had a very memorable stay at Awarta Nusa Dua Resort and Villas. We stayed in both the private pool suite as well as the one bedroom villa with private pool. Both accommodations exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, the mini bar was refilled each day and completely complimentary. The resort grounds is luscious and full of greenery. We managed to take some lovely family photos around the resort. The grounds are lit up after sunset by candlelight so it makes for romantic evening walks. Breakfast was always delicious and it was extra special when they deliver breakfast to your villa. The pancakes and the century egg congee were the favourites. The staff were always courteous and no request was ever too much. The shuttle bus service was an added bonus and we were always dropped off and picked up by the hotel quickly and safely. Thank you for a wonderful stay to Addi and team, hopefully we will be able to come back again :)…
We experienced a warm welcome in this beautiful hotel and extended our 3 night stay with 2 more nights. Eric is a fantastic guy, we call him The Super Butler of the World. We highly recommend tot stay in a villa with private pool, so relaxed and Wonderfull.
One of the greatest hotels I have ever stayed at. Exceptional service from the staff. Makes you feel special. Total feeling of luxury every day. Also the atmosphere is beautiful in the evening, they light candles all over the hotel. Will not forget this stay!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend four beautiful nights staying in a 1 bedroom villa (6) at Awarta Villas & Spa. The villas are pure luxury and everything is included to ensure you have a memorable stay. The furnishings, bedding, towels & toiletries are all top quality and no expense has been spared to ensure the villas are first class. The resort provides a complimentary mini bar (topped up daily) including beer, chips, chocolate & soft drinks. Our own private pool with waterfall was gorgeous and the outdoor entertainment area complete withTV was so comfortable. As we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary the resort organised a rose petal bath on arrival which was so lovely and enjoyable. The villas are huge with a walk in wardrobe, seperate shower, toilet and another bathroom with a bath. There was 2 outdoor showers, 3 televisions a sitting area and an office area. Pure luxury! The staff at Awarta are exceptional. They are the most friendly and obliging staff we met during our travels in Bali. Our daily breakfast was delicious and we could order what ever we liked from the breakfast menu including fresh coconuts. We also had an 90 minute complimentary massage which was beautiful in the gorgeous day spa. The beach is across the road, down a path (approx 800m) but an easy straight walk. The resort also has a huge pool, Chinese restaurant, restaurant & bar. We ate at the Long Table and the good was delicious. If you are looking for a quiet resort with the best staff and pure luxury then look no further than Awarta Villas and Spa. We absolutely loved our stay at Awarta and hope to return again one day soon. Thank you for looking after us so well Awarta.…
We are from Adelaide, South Australia and have stayed in the best luxury resorts in the Maldives, Kenya and elsewhere and this beautiful place is quite amazing; we were there from 29 Dec to 7 January 2020. There was a birthday cake in our room on arrival and the bathtub ready and covered with flower petals; it was my birthday shortly before we arrived. The villa was wonderful and clean (and the overall design, decor, space, bathroom, bed, facilities, WHICH included free fully restocked bar daily) with wonderful towels and toiletries including Bvlgari, with great pool, totally secluded, huge daybed, separate very beautiful well maintained gardens, restaurants and food, spa, all staff (be it gardeners, housekeeping, restaurant, reception, spa staff) were truly outstanding (polite, friendly, timely, helpful, competent). We met the resort manager and restaurant manager and they couldn't be more friendly and accomodating and knew us by name when ever they saw us, as did the other staff we met/passed or had reason to communicate with. We also met Naomi Siawarta, Director/owner of this wonderful place and spent nearly 2 hours chatting with her; she truly understands what it means to run/oversee a family owned/operated resort where you are treated like family (unlike many large international chain resorts that have an employed manager overseeing everything, and are essentially managed/dictated to by overseas management). She and her family who designed and set this resort up, including the very beautiful gardens, were also all at the New Years Eve dinner and celebration, and the food, unique fire-dancing entertainment and fireworks were simply wonderful. Having travelled widely and stayed in some great luxury locations/resorts, but there are few we'd immediately say we'll return to, however we can say we will return to Awarta as soon as we can. When ever we wished to go to the nearby Bali Collection shopping centre where we found hundreds of clothing outlets and restaurants, Awarta dropped us there, or picked us up after, even if we were eating out rather than at the resort. They also dropped us to the airport when we left, in their limousine. We received complementary high afternoon tea, and spa/massage treatments and they were very good. To Naomi Siawarta and staff; congratulations on what you have achieved, the way you run your resort, and how you made us feel; we will be back.…
Many hotels can seem fabulous when all is well, however a simple test for a good hotel is how they deal with issues when things go wrong. Throughout our entire stay of 11 nights, we saw the staff at Awarta (up to and including the GM) have no comprehension of how to face up to and deal with probkems. When the inevitable issue arises, their staff either lie, mislead or simply try to ignore the problem and hope it goes away. Much of the interaction was with the F&B team. Whilst warm and friendly, they refuse to admit menu ‘errors’ or replacements unless pushed. Examples: juices on their menu are claimed to be fresh, this was evidently not always the case, yet only after pushing the wait staff would they admit to using cartons. Similar situation with ice cream and sorbet. Not a great situation to be in if you’re lactose intolerant. In both instances a simple upfront admission would have sufficed, certainly trying to cover up these changes should never be acceptable. Where people have serious allergies, the consequences of this type of attitude can be dire. If items are unavailable, I expect the staff to mention it and ask if we’d like a replacement. Awarta thinks it’s acceptable to bring half a dish, not mention they were out of some products, and hope we didn’t notice. Their response “oh sorry, we ran out, we’ll bring some tomorrow “. At least in the above they brought the two meals we ordered at the same time. This isn’t always the case. They also think it’s fine to bring room service orders 10 minutes apart. Either have breakfast separately or one of us has a cold omelette. This is simply indicative of both a poorly organised kitchen, and poorly trained staff The above was irritating, the below completely inexplicable. When asking for green tea with our dinner, the waitress brought out English Breakfast. Assuming it was a simple mistake, I informed her. She the preceded to argue that I was wrong to order green tea, I should in fact have asked for English Breakfast. A second time of asking her to bring the tea we requested met the same response. That we’re wrong to order it. At which point I may have been snarky and suggested to her that the clue was in the name, and we were at dinner not breakfast. How anyone can be trained to override a guest choice of beverage is beyond me. The penultimate issue was the NYE celebration. Typically pregnant ladies don’t like to drink alcohol. When we pointed this out to the staff during the first hours welcoming drinks, we were told our options were champagne, cocktails or water. If you’re paying the amount Awarta requested for their NYE celebration, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to cater for people who don’t drink alcohol. A request for fresh juice was met with a simple ‘no’. Our request to speak to a manager ‘certainly’. Of course this being Awarta, no manager ever came to address this. Whilst by no means a deal breaker, this was annoying. The fact that whoever setup their sound system installed two speakers for the entire location, inside and out. This meant any attempt to converse was impossible. Sitting our table two metres away from these speakers didn’t help. The owners were actually comparing the event, and noted that they would fire the sound engineer, although obviously mentioned in jest. The final nail in the coffin is the GM. We were checking out late evening. As such I’d booked the room until the next day, given it was over New Years and they were busy. After the above and other problems which are too numerous to list, I spoke with the GM after breakfast. Whilst the conversation seemed to be well received, and certain issues he didn’t seem surprised at given they were at full occupancy for the last few days of our stay, the end result was he simple paid lip service. The end result was an offer of afternoon tea and massage “if it was available”. Given this was already early evening, we needed to pack, head out for dinner and leave for the airport, we declined. The next offer was a 3% discount on our extra charges. I’ll let you judge whether that’s commensurate, but given it was such an insultingly small number (equal to around USD 30), we rejected it. To compound all of this, on checkout they presented us the final bill. With the full cost of the NYE dinner included. Which I had already prepaid two weeks earlier. Upon pointing this out to the staff at front desk she told me they had just blocked the card (they hadn’t but I couldn’t show that at the time), she was just an employee and she would have security prevent me leaving for our flight unless I paid. Twice. So asides from all the above, I have a claim for almost $300 which they have overcharged me. I communicated with Emily, the reservation manager, regarding the double payment. Her response was that she apologised for both the double charge and slow breakfast service. If anyone has bothered to read all of the above, I’ll let you decide both if you think the issue with Awarta is that they don’t deliver food on time and whether to book this hotel. As an aside, the reason we booked here was the service and boutique nature of the hotel, acknowledging that the location for beaches wasn’t great. If you are looking for Uluwatu beaches, this really isn’t the hotel for you. As a final point, if you are planning staying primarily in the hotel during your stay, the main dining option is below par compare to hotels located in the vicinity (Sofitel and Westin), both in terms of quality and price (approximately 20-30% more expensive). That being said, their Chinese restaurant is actually very good…
Our family of four, with two kids (10 and 11) had a fabulous stay at Awarta. We arrived late from Singapore but still got a great welcome and even a drink before going to bed. We stayed in a villa with our own pool. The kids loved it - switching between our pool and the main pool. The main pool is amazing. At least 20m long and quite deep. It is excellent for proper swimming and not your normal hotel splash pool. The hotel is not beachfront, but it is almost an advantage. The neighbourhood is very quiet and if you wish to experience the beach the hotel can guide you to an excellent beach club only a five minute walk away. The service is impeccable, gym is great, and restaurants excellent. In short - you don’t want or need to leave Awarta!
Four of us stayed in a 2BR pool villa for 5N. Awarta is located in the peaceful well laid out Nusa Dua neighbourhood. Though it is not directly on beach, it is just 10 min easy walking from resort to the beach. Bali collection, a shopping arcade with lots of food options is 10 min walking distance with well laid out walk pathway. 2BR pool villa is spacious, with full privacy and well appointed with all needed amenities. We enjoyed family time in the spacious living / dining space with the convenient kitchenette. Looks like entire villa is cleaned twice a day - we could see that the pool towels were replaced regularly. when we come back in the evening, curtains would be drawn and lights will be on - makes you feel comfortable. Frankly, we were spoiled by the courtesy and quality service from entire Team Awarta - always smiling and "certainly yes' for any query. Sumptuous breakfast with good spread and service with smile. Though this place is pricey compared to many other resorts in Nusa Dua, the conveniences, location and service makes it value for money. …
This was our second visit to Awarta and it was simply luxurious. Breakfast is incredible and the atmosphere is so relaxing. As well as a communal pool, you get your own pool in your villa. The gym is well equipped and there’s a chilled area with games like chess and Jenga. Everyone in the hotel takes time to make you feel welcome and chat to you. I’m always really impressed when the staff remember your name. It’s all the little touches that make awarta so good - little treats left out for you when they do turndown service, free mini bar, and the hotel lent us some floats for our pool. Also - thank you so much for the birthday cake! What a lovely surprise!
