Went with a friend, best resort we could've chosen. The hospitality and facilities are great! The location is perfect in my opinion: not many tourists in the area and not far away from all the beautifull places in bali! I really recommend this resort to everyone!

Last three nights in Bali. We stayed at another venue first then moved here. Room was amazing and facilities fantastic. Breakfast. What a spread. Really excellent. The food venues are great. Some highlights. The beach club. Mmmm not sure how we missed this on day one and two and water aerobics. ❤️❤️❤️ one tip for venue. Perhaps have an adults only pool. 😁 would be nice.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 10 day break at The Sofitel in Nusa Dua - our first trip to Bali since Covid disrupted international travel. We booked a room with a plunge pool together with an all-inclusive meal package (booked through Luxury Escapes). The hotel has been open throughout covid and consequently has been well maintained. It is a very well designed hotel with lovely facilities. It was great to hear that the hotel has been open for the last couple of years, providing much needed employment to the local staff members. We met three Sofitel management trainees who had recently arrived from Paris to work at the hotel for 6 months. It was great to see Sofitel continuing to invest in their staff despite the challenges the hotel industry has faced over recent years. The ground floor rooms have access to the swimming pool which loops around the entire hotel, or have their own plunge pool. Many of the upstairs rooms have views over the ocean. The main pool is very large and has a swim up bar as well as a separate kids pool area. There is a private beach area which has shaded areas to lounge. The beach is lovely. There are three restaurants: a large restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating, a fine dining restaurant that serves dinner and a casual restaurant at the beach which serves lunch and dinner. Because we had the all-inclusive meals package we had to order off a limited menu. The food quality was very good, although we were craving some variety after 10 days. The price of food at the beachside restaurant is: entre AUS$10-$15, Main course $AUS 15-20, desert AUS$10. Beers AUS$7-10 and wine approx $AUS$50 per bottle or $12 per glass. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful (as always in Bali). The Nusa Dua area has been well maintained throughout covid, although the nearby Bali Collections shopping centre was primarily closed (with only a few shops and restaurants trading). There was however lots of activity and it looked like they are working towards re-opening as the number of tourists increases. Overall a very pleasant trip and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Enjoyed a brilliant 7 night stay here in a Luxury Escapes package. Found the resort to be huge, well maintained, friendly staff and good dining options (all meals included in our package - across the different venues). Perfect for a relaxing holiday to lay by the pool or beach and read or just enjoy the warmth. We tended to eat early at Kwee Zeen but noticed at later times when it got very busy service wasn’t quite as good - slow to clear dishes or to bring next courses. We were lucky to have the wonderful Rista looking after us - after only one day she remembered our name and coffee orders! The gym is really well appointed and had a range of free weights and machines along with cardio equipment. Daily 8am yoga classes on the lawn by the beach were a real highlight for me with both instructors Mundi and Mustica. (Not sure of spelling). Massage at the beach gazebos was lovely. Also enjoyed a nice wrap and facial at the spa. The only negative was the aircon was way too cold so when having the wrap (cold paste) applied I was freezing - all good once I was wrapped up.

We have just returned from a 10 day all inclusive Luxury Escape package at the Sofitel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably return in the future, but we sometimes felt like second class citizens, particularly when we produced our food and wine vouchers. The check in and out was friendly and professional. Breakfast …. Kwee Zeen, The variety was excellent, and I enjoyed experimenting with the Asian options. But, make sure you get there early, as by 08:30, the place is packed. Lunch ….. Kwee Zeen, with your vouchers you are restricted to the same 4 choices for each course, which after 10 days can be tiresome. Lunch and Dinner, Toya …… is an option by the beach for lunch and dinner, but is also restricted to the same 4 choices for lunch or a seafood BBQ for dinner, which was excellent. Dinner ……. Cucina, again limited to 4 options, this is their fine dining restaurant, but on our 2 visits we found the main meals bland and underwhelming. We had a Plunge pool room which was lovely, but unfortunately the pool is in shade all day, so the pool is surprisingly cold, and also there is no privacy, as there are 3 levels of balconies overlooking your pool, and a walkway running behind. The lighting in the room is poor, particularly the bathroom. The resort pools are great, but there is a real problem with the chairs and daybeds being reserved, despite signs saying otherwise, this should be enforced because by 09:00 you won’t get a seat, despite only a dozen people actually at the pool. I found that the staff were friendly, polite and were very helpful, with one exception, Toya. We felt like we were imposing on the staff at Toya, just by trying to get their attention at the table or even make a booking ….. disappointing. I think by having a less restrictive menu or changing it every few days, my dining experience would have been more enjoyable.

A truly beautiful property with beautiful sands and sitting right on the beach. Pools and landscapes are perfect to photoshoot. Fantastic sunrises is not swapped by tourist. I am amazed at how the hotel can maintain the property with few staffs and they are very friendly and grateful to have guests again, thank you Ms Meity to arrange late check out on our departure and the baby car in the car to the airport. We loves our stay and will be back again!

We’ve brunches at the Sofitel a couple of times but this time we stayed 7 nights at the Sofitel in a pool access room on ground floor. The room was bigger than I thought it would be as it was a great layout, perfect for us as a couple with a 10yr old daughter. We did shuffle the furniture around a bit to make it work but the hotel provided a super comfortable portable bed - it was pretty impressive tbh, most porta beds are like camp beds but this had an amazing mattress and quality to it. Great start.

We were all inclusive which we like to do for our first week in Bali, it’s a good chill week. The main breakfast restaurant is pretty impressive, there are many different food stations in different rooms - so much variety you’ll never be bored. Two great barista stations making awesome coffee with all the nut milks - lol kiwis and aussies.

The restaurants are all good, the Italian is clearly a step up - the menu and food here was amazing. We also ate back at the main restaurant Kwizeen and the Grill one on the beach. The grill one is a bit hit and miss - my husband and I ordered the same dish a couple of times and one of us would get prawns and the other wouldn’t, one would have lots of chicken and the other wouldn’t, sometimes the food was quick, sometimes it took an hour. I would recommend the satay anytime, even poolside - it’s done really well.

The grounds are nice. The layout overall has all the pools central leading down to the beach. This might sound overly critical but I felt the grounds were a bit limited and the fact that everything is on this single axis going to the beach, when you’re walking up and down the same path ten times a day more it can start to feel a bit like Groundhog Day by the time you get to day 7. It’s hard to go somewhere new to break the days up as the pools all look to each other and you are in quite close proximity to other people. I have to admit the pool outside the room was cool though and my daughter enjoyed jumping in and swimming to the big pools.

Staff are friendly, always kind and welcoming. I couldn’t single one person out. We had a massage in the cabanas by the beach which was lovely. There are beach sunbeds with little hit roofs that are cute if you want to just be beachside. Free archery, yoga and bikes were great. We rode along the waterfront and there are small market shops opening up.

One really sad development is that bali collection is completely closed except for the main department store which didn’t have the aircon on and the one Starbucks outside. We really missed being able to have a break here for a meal and a bit of a shop/massage. Also, the beachside restaurants out the front of the resorts has closed too so it really limits places to go as other resorts only. Some of the footpath along here has been eroded by high seas too so it’s a bit rocky to get along, a lot of path has just gone. We found a small market street one night after asking the concierge, but really there are only about 15 shops and couple of small warung. Fingers crossed these areas come back in the future. Maybe head to Tanjung Benoa for restaurants - it only 5 mins out the Nusa gates.

There is a really good beach club out the front of the Sofitel, beachside. Definitely a good break from the hotel itself. It is independent and played music so had a vibe. The hotel itself could really do with some music. There’s some elevator type music sometimes but music - even if in the afternoons would be one way to create more of an atmosphere and upbeat vibe.

We enjoyed the Sofitel but we found it a bit too sleepy for us and without other places to venture too at the moment, so being at the hotel the whole time, it just blends the days. A daily kids activity would be good - to get kids taking and playing together, it definitely helps parents have a moment when kids connect. But also an adult activity around the pool is good for a giggle and creates opportunities for people to engage if they want.

The all inclusive package on Luxury Escapes was reasonable, and so tempting if it came up again, but I’m not sure we would jump to return until Nusa Dua had a bit more going on. We really like larger garden grounds too so would probably stay at an older hotel with space over more modern and limited. That’s entirely personal and the Sofitel have definitely made the most of the site. Rooms are excellent.

I was really struggling on how to be fair on this review considering the impacts of the pandemic on Bali, but I decided I can only review that I experience. Staff: Most of the staff are absolutely lovely. The Millesime lounge and Cuccina are all excellent as our the ground staff. The Toya team leave a lot to be desired and ignore you which is a shock. We had two pretty average experiences here. The staff at the pool I found to be quite rude and the staff at the pool bar don’t understand the loyalty program - like the free drink card. Villas: Overall pretty average I have to say. Maintenance is really poor, no basic amenities like coffee machine or modern sound system like most other hotels. Bed is really comfortable and well climate controlled. There was unfortunate smell of enamel based paint around the villa that was very overpowering. Restaurants: Kwee Zeen Overall very average. The food and the experience at Kwee Zeen was a disgrace. At 7:15pm at night they’d ran out of food and what they did have was cold. Really enjoyed watching the chefs all standing around watching one person cook while people went hungry. We left. Cucina: Service was A+ It’s a big restaurant but they are limiting the service. Food was tasty but unimaginative and just meat and potatoes for the meat dish with no other sides other than potatoes? The hotel grounds: Absolutely stunning! They are so beautiful and so well maintained and it’s an absolute highlight of the hotel. Millesime lounge: Service is A+ and very efficient. Food offering could be improved at cocktail hour. Subpar compared to other Sofitels around the world. Cooked breakfast was often dull. Toya: Don’t bother! Go up the road to Arwana - fabulous! Pool area: Overall quite lovely, but we other reviewers have mentioned a severe lack of lounges. We are lucky we had the Villa to fall back on. Overall we enjoyed our week at Sofitel Nusa Dua. There is a lot to improve upon here and in particular the restaurants. Hopefully they can sort it out and get them to Sofitel stands soon.

Stayed for 7 nights in this excellent resort. From the moment we arrived in the airport, the airport transfer we arranged with the hotel was on time even with our flight 1 hour early. The 5-star service started there all the way to when we were dropped off the airport a week later. Nothing was ever too difficult for all the staff we encountered. The Club Millesime staff were exemplary, around the pools and the beach, all the restaurants, and generally around the resort. Service with a smile, always. Our pool access room was spacious, modern and luxurious. I would highly recommend to anyone. A place worthy of the Sofitel brand.

We stayed for 7 nights on a full board package. First for the positives. The hotel physically is beautiful. It has multiple pools and is located directly on a beautiful beach in the main area of Nusa Dua. We had a twin lagoon view room and the room was a good size, with very comfy beds and a modern design. We made use of the spa which was lovely. The pools are the real highlight with an amazingly large pool bar and a modern beach club as well with a more upbeat vibe than the main pools. Service by the pool was mostly good with a large range of F&B available. Getting a seat by the pool is an issue, the staff do not seem to actively enforce the no reserving of pool lounges which means most are gone by 9am. The hotel really does need to enforce their own policy on not reserving lounges more. The hit and miss part came with the service in the restaurants (Cucina, Toya and Kwee Zeen). The service really did range from good to laughably bad (eg. waiting 1hr for an entree at Cucina, getting whole meals lost, getting mains before entrees, having to asking 3 times for basic things such as a menu or water, waiting 20mins just for a bill to be bought to us). Unfortunately, the F&B service was consistently inconsistent. At one point we did raise our concerns following an incredibly disappointing dinner at Cucina with the duty manager at reception. Unfortunately, nothing really was actioned from this complaint and we never heard anything more (not what you expect from a 5*). The exception to this was breakfast time in the buffet where service was generally good. However, on the dinner buffet around 85% of the hot options were Indonesian food. Given about 85% of the customers are Australian some more western hot options (other than pizza) I am sure would be welcome. The other feedback I would say, is their full board backage is VERY repetitive and does not offer much variety/flexibility. We were very over the same meals by the end of the stay. The actually quality of the food however was generally good (but not standout to some other 5* I have stayed at in Bali). In summary, a physically beautiful hotel, with some improvements in F&B delivery/timing needed.
