My partner and I visited last year for 12 days and enjoyed it so much we came for 3 weeks this time with Luxury Escapes and get a great package. The staff and the suites are both wonderful. We get a great ocean view (a whole wall) and a balcony. The bathroom is large as is the king size bed. The kitchen has a mini fridge and microwave as well as the usuals. Hair dryer supplied. Comfy lounge and 54 inch TV and a sound system. The pool looks impressive and well maintained as are the grounds. Restaurant we had Luxury Escapes menu (less options than alacarte) which was more than adequate. There is a spa with well trained staff and relaxing massage. Staff make you feel at home and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable.

We booked this resort back in early 2022 with Luxury Escapes and just before we were due to fly to Bali, the dreaded Covid hit one of our party and we had to cancel at the very last minute - like that day! Ulu Segara was amazingly accomodating to us and agreed to postpone our stay for the same time (Sept) a year later - thank you. The resort itself is boutique and intimate, unlike the massive Mulia, Hilton & Co just up the road. Our suite was an impressive and spacious 100sqm with uninterrupted views over the reef and ocean below us. Comfy beds, great pillows, lounge, dining areas, huge bathroom with bath looking out over the sea......this was living. Breakfast was included in our package and was one of the highlights. Full western/Balinese with huge choice and excellent quality. Daily two-course lunch or dinner was also included, along with daily cocktails, 4 x 1hr massages and free shuttle to Bali Collection shopping & restaurant complex in Nusa Dua. The infinity-edge pool was stunning (including a swim up bar), and the list of facilities and highlights was endless. Staff were of course, fabulous with the beautiful nature of the Balinese always on show. As a fairly experienced world traveller over several decades - at every level of luxury from basic to the ultimate - this resort is up there with the best, all things considered. No, it's not perfect.......but it goes close. What it does clearly represent, however, is quite simply extraordinary value for money, delivered in a boutique, intimate, and more authentic way than the behemoths a short drive up the coast. We'll be back.

Room and staff: A location with a beautiful ocean view. Rooms are spacious and clean. We were not disturbed by anything throughout our stay at this hotel. The territory is small, but quite well arranged so that you have your relaxation space. Disadvantages: You can enjoy the sun until 3:30 PM, after that it disappears behind the hotel and you can no longer enjoy. Access to the beach can only be in the afternoon, when the water recedes, but you cannot swim in the ocean. Food: Small diversity for breakfast, but enough. Disadvantages: I do not recommend eating at the restaurant, there is no diversity and the food is not the tastiest I have tried. Other: Amazing staff - wonderful people who do their best to make you feel good. Special appreciation for Ima from the restaurant and Rosita from the reception. Do not go to the SPA in the hotel - unprofessional staff and they are not kind, totally disappointed. There is nothing outside the hotel, you can't go out by foot because everything is far, but a taxi to the city is quite cheap and accessible.

I’m well travelled and appreciate things for what they are, so I consider advertising misleading information to be unethical. I want to point out that the hotel staff were very friendly, tried their best to accommodate guests’ requests, the rooms were good and the view was amazing, but we were disappointed with the poor quality of the hotel and lack of ‘five star’ amenities. • Access to the hotel beach from the pool area is quite steep going down 90 steps (about 5 floors) • Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you find a rocky inaccessible area to your right and left - even in low tide it is difficult to walk around. • Guests’ lounge on 5th floor is old and tired. • Beach bar opens from 1pm - 53 steep concrete steps to go to reach the bar (3 floors) • only one restaurant with a limited budget menu - food quality and selection were very disappointing for what is meant to be a luxury hotel. • The hotel is tired, with old furniture and poor lighting • The closest beach is 2.5 km • No paths to walk anywhere except venturing to the main road which is under construction • No disabled access to the lobby , pool, beach or bar. • Cheap Plastic flowers decor everywhere • No ambience • The Emergency stairs are abandoned with many trip hazards all the way • The Hotel desperately needs maintenance and repairs to offer the basic needs to guests I hope this feedback could help the hotel identify areas for improvement and potentially enhance the overall guest experience.

So glad we found Ulu Segara, from start to finish the staff were fabulous from the front desk to the restaurant & more. Our apartment was huge with a large modern bathroom, excellent air con & a large terrace overlooking the ocean. The food was good overall with a varied Asian/European breakfast buffet with egg station. Had afternoon tea a couple of times which was plentiful & yummy. Even though the reception is above the accommodation they have a efficient call system to call the buggy for transfer up or down. The only negative point was that the pool doesn’t get afternoon sun & the loungers beyond the pool are unusable if the wind blows as the umbrellas are taken down & therefore no respite from the sun. A more sturdy sun cover is needed to combat this.

We loved staying at Ulu Segara away from the madding crowd. It was very quiet and peaceful lying by the pool and sitting on our balcony overlooking at the ocean and watching the paragliders whilst sipping a gin and tonic. Highly recommended.

I truly have mixed feelings of this resort but don't think it lives up to the true luxury experience they advertise On a positive note, the view from the rooms is amazing. As soon as you walk in it is a spectacular view. The rooms are also huge. They have high ceilings, plenty of space to move around, a spacious bathroom with bath and walk-in shower The staff are also excellent. They are very attentive and helpful and very quick to assist in any way they can. You require a golf cart to get from lobby to rooms which I thought would be an inconvenience however there were always staff onsite ready to take you to your room. However there were a few negatives. The rooms are a little dated and in need of upgrades. The bathroom is not as clean as you would expect from a 5 star resort with some mould in the shower. When we arrived our fridge was broken. Not a big deal and the maintenance man was helpful and quickly replaced. Then later that night the TV stopped working.. once again maintenance came to fix it. 20 minutes later, it stopped working again and this time he came and replaced with another TV... that also didn't work. Then he replaced that with another TV which this time did work (and had no further problems). They were very helpful but after multiple things breaking it does get a little exhausting. The beach access they claim is a real stretch of the truth. The access requires climbing over large sharp rocks and balancing on poles etc. Do not try this unless you want to risk a broken leg or worse. I am young and fit and was able to access the beach but I would not recommend anyone try this. They also claim to have a nice top floor bar looking over the ocean. However, this was closed for a private party and access was not allowed. This was not communicated when booking and felt like guests were not considered as important. The pool area was very nice however there is no sun in this area after 11.30am. There is nothing the hotel can do about this but you should be aware if you like sitting by the pool. It makes the pool bar a little dreary. They also have a beach bar on the lower level but this was also closed when I went there. The breakfast buffet was fine. No better / worse than other Bali buffet's. The hotel is located about 15 mins from Nusa Dua. they have a shuttle bus 3 times a day however I'd recommend using Gojek. It costs about 55k each way and isn't really a problem. Overall the resort is fine with some elements living up to expectations and others not.

A beautiful atmosphere, peaceful, and had just the right amount of facilities. The views are outstanding and the gardens and pool are beautiful. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Morning buffet breakfast lasts from 7.30 am till 10.30 am and that is so good for those wanting to rest. An incredibly varied menu is on offer with freshly cooked eggs to various coffees and teas all presented promptly and so fresh and tasty. Free shuttle buses to Nusa Dua, taxi services are on hand, and buggies to collect and assist guests getting around the complex were so handy and prompt. Wi-Fi did not miss a beat for your own entertainment needs and the hotel has returned to bottled drinking water and removed plastic. The hotel is doing a great job getting back on its feet after the damage done by covid restrictions to the travel industry and I commend them for the way they have maintained the hotel under what must have been very hard times. Enjoy watching the cheeky monkeys but don't feed or encourage them. Ha. They are an amusement each morning as they lope across the fence on their way down the beachfront. Another fabulous spectacle is the paragliders silently passing above the beachfront each day. You will love it and remember it's only slightly out of town for the peace and quiet while not being super expensive for all those false shimmering gimmicks you could find up the road. Seven - twelve days should relax the body and soul at Ulu Segara with the mobile phone on silent. Talk to people.

A wonderful peaceful getaway slightly out of town but with outstanding ocean views, and very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing colorful paragliders pass overhead while plentiful and varied breakfasts are available as you look across an enormous infinity pool. The hotel has easy access via lifts and buggies to hotel rooms and facilities. Beach access is challenging depending on the tides leaving the area closed to guests sometimes, however, it is a quick reasonably priced trip by taxi to any other beautiful beach or area of interest. A free shuttle bus also regularly transports guests to town and back. The naughty monkeys are little sneaks to keep an eye on but not get too close. They tried to take a few things, including knitting one day but all turned out well with the help of staff. They distracted the monkeys and my balls of wool did not end up over the balcony in the pool below. We found it tranquil, with warm sunny days and not too humid in July.

This hotel is quite far from Nusa Dua. There are no shop around and you need to depend from hotel food or you can buy water before coming to hotel. The hotel is very nice, overlooking the beach, staff are really polite and well mannered. Room is massive room and clean, good varieties of food for buffet breakfast. Free kayak and shuttle bus to Nusa Dua for free , dropping and pick up. Beech is not good to swim, lot of rocks before going down the beach. From room balcony nice view of the swimming pool and beach. On Saturday and Wednesdays there are music at the restaurant for dinner. It is better to book this hotel for breakfast and dinner as there are no restaurants around. Staff are very nice. Thank you to Yanti and sudia for the excellent customer service. Well done to you both.
