Great place to stay, clean, handy to shopping and very helpful staff. I stayed here with my 14 year old son and it had everything we needed. Free Wifi by the pool, restaurant, beautiful lush gardens and a short walk to the beach.
This resort was part of a airfare/hotel deal so I didnt chose to book in here. However it was a great place to stay. Just a short stroll down the road to be in the action that is Sanur. The deal also included breakfast which...More

The beach is a 5 minute walk from the Bumi Ayu. there is a lane just outside that lead to the main street, turn right walk about 5 minutes and then take the lane next to the German consulate building. The night market food stall are about a 15 minute walk, turn left at the main street. best to wait until just before dark as the heat can be intense.

As the others have mentioned, it's not that far, depending on your fitness (10 to 15 mins pleasant walk). We did it a few times and walked through one of the resorts on the beach. Nobody seemed to mind and we were not approached at all.
One thing we did this time, to help us on our walks, was to use google maps on our smart phone or tablet and either of them were able to give us a travelling map location as we went (offline). This was excellent to know exactly where we were so we could follow some of the back lanes to get to places. We also stayed at a hotel on the bypass for the other half of our stay and this helped immensely. The walking in Sanur is much easier than in Kuta or Legian (less traffic and quieter)
