Bambu Indah is a sustainable jungle retreat with the luxury of a highly personalised service and the attention of a fully dedicated team that will create for you a unique experience for lifelong memories. Encapsulating old school Bali; peaceful, laidback and in harmony with nature. Tamarind, cinnamon, palm and bayan trees cascade down steep jungle slopes to an enchanting river with natural swimming pools fed by dancing waterfalls. Jewellery designer John Hardy arrived in Ibud in the 70’s and met and married Cynthia a decade later. Each passionate about the environment, together they are a fusion of creativity. In 2005 they installed eleven antique Javanese bridal homes collected on their travels on a jungle cliff top overlooking padi fields, inviting first their friends to stay and then turning it into a hotel. Since then, they have evolved with ecological mindfulness to expand Bambu Indah down to the river, building a range of spectacular and utterly original buildings all made from their signature material, bamboo. Today travellers come from all over the world, drawn by their dream of a regenerative world where nothing is used which cannot be composted back into the earth. This garden of Eden is their home which they share with you.
This place boasts breathtaking sunsets, with the sky ablaze in vibrant colors as the sun dips below the horizon. Their signature cocktails are equally impressive, offering unique flavor combinations and a perfect complement to the stunning views.

I've stayed in many excellent hotels and resorts around the world and I cannot say any are better than Bambu Indah. Different, sure - urban or coastal - but not superior. Bambu Indah is truly idyllic. Attention to detail in the design of the guest houses is mind boggling. Sleeping in the open air with the rush of the Ayung River nearby provides pure rest. The staff are kind and helpful and take pride and ownership of this place and their work. It's not for everyone and that's what makes it special.

As I hail from South East Asia, Bambu Indah was my childhood revisited. Beautiful green surrounds, a bubbling stream/river, and the textures of bamboo and rattan woven seamlessly into the decor. It was a place in which to unwind, to let the quiet embrace you, and to feast your eyes and your soul.

The most unique accommodation we have ever stayed in. Absolutely wonderful staff and the hospitality on point. We stayed in the tree house! Photos do not justify the room and view! There are many rooms to choose from and it feels like a fairly tale walking around the property. I would 100% come back.

This place is magical! The experience to even get to the nature pools is beautiful! There are all kind of different spots where you can enjoy your day. You can hang out in a swing and watch the water flows down the river or enjoy the sun while sitting on a bean bag and hear the sounds of the nature. Cool off in one of the nature pools and have the best food in their restaurant. There is also a bar one level higher where you can have a drink and watch sunset. Staff is incredible friendly and I would give this place a 10 out of 10! When in UBUD do spend a day in this wonderful oase right in the jungle! You wont regret it! Thank me later!
