My boyfriend and I stayed in the villas in the end of September, and honestly we had a terrible stay. We had high hopes for this place, after all it seemed to be exactly what we were looking for; nicely decorated rooms, yoga and spa on-site. Except, our room had 3 broken lights and thereby dark as a cave, a toilet that wouldn't flush, and no yoga classes. We stayed in the villas for the last 2 days of our trip, which was supposed to be a nice relaxing time with yoga classes that were easily accessible. Instead, we checked in, could barely unpack because it was so dark, and neither of us could use the bathroom because it was broken. Shortly after arriving we had to go for dinner, so we informed the manager that we were not happy about them not having yoga classes as described on booking.com, and told them that the toilet had to be fixed by the end of the day. When we arrived home later in the evening, the toilet was not fixed and no one was around in the reception, except a guy sleeping on a couch. On the second day we complained about the toilet again, and they told us they already fixed it. After discussing with them we managed to convince them to move us to another room, but this meant that we had to spend time on repacking and unpacking and thereby not leave in time for the tour we were supposed to go on in the morning. On the last day we wanted to spend some time in the sun by the pool, however that was not possible, as the hotel has just 4 sunbeds for around 8 villas/rooms, meaning that very few of the guests are actually able to enjoy this facility. We checked out at 12 and asked the receptionist to store our backpacks as we wanted to explore the city some more before leaving, but i noticed that they were just leaving them in the reception area, to which i insisted that they were put in a closed room. This was quite a hassle and they seemed unfamiliar with this practice. When we came back in the evening asking for our luggage, the person in the reception looked oblivious when we asked for our luggage and of-course it again took ages. All in all, we really wish we booked another place, really, dont bother. On top of this bad experience, I unfortunately forgot one of my favorite scarfs in the room and did not realize until i got back to europe. As a former receptionist, I would have assumed that since the housekeeping was in the room when we left by 12, that they would have found the scarf and left it for me in the reception when we came back for our bags, but obviously with their lack of service that was not the case and now it is too late. As the scarf of very important to me, i reached out by email to the hotel and have now waited for almost 12 hours for a reply. I really really cannot stress this enough, save your time and money and find another place that is not run down and doesnt understand the concept of service and hospitality. Oh yeah and their mosquito net for the bed was pretty great too, see the image of our second room we were ‘upgraded’ to.

It’s always hard to review a budget hotel after staying in a lovely one but I will try to be fair. Transport to and from the hotel is provided at a good price. The rooms are reasonably sized but in desperate need of a repaint, the mosquito nets need replacing and the AC is very noisy! They provide towels, toothbrushes, shampoo and shower gel which was an unexpectedly nice touch. We didn’t have breakfast, partly because the options in Ubud centre are much better and partly because the menu is enormous- there’s no way they could produce any of that to a high standard. We didn’t see any other guests have breakfast, kind of says enough in itself. Nice outside terrace for playing cards or enjoying a drink. Wouldn’t swim in the pool though, it was not very clean at all. Mixed feeling about this place, don’t think I’ll return.

Poorly maintained. Bedcovers, room etc stink. Just managed to sleep for 1 night. Breakfast service was very slow. While room service guys helped but they hardly could do anything about poor state of the place. Owner does not stay in Bali and does not seem to be keen on upkept of the hotel. Highly NOT recommended!

I am a fairly easy going person that can tolerate a lot… I accepted the Dirty mosquito net that didn't fit or cover the bed properly (and so obviously hadn't been cleaned for ages), the roof in the bathroom leaking and letting mosquitos in, things falling out of their sockets, lightbulbs not working or being changed...I even accepted the mold!! But when I get woken up at 3 am because it's raining on me and bits of the ceiling are falling on my face - in bed, Indoors!! - that's where I draw the line! And when I then spoke to the manager about it, all he said was ah, yes we know we have to fix some things - while smiling! No, -I'm sorry what can we do, no apology, no nothing...just a big smile. (and yes his English was good so there were no translation issues and he also saw my wet bed with pieces of the ceiling in it) I also had to pay full price for the period including for the night the ceiling and rain fell down on me in bed at 3 am! It's such a shame that the owner and manager obviously don't care - because Ubud Garden Villa has such potential and could be wonderful with a total renovation and clean up! As it is today I would NOT spend my hard earned money on this place! I give it a 1 because the staff was really nice and the pool great! To bad owner and manager don't care (too busy watching tv-shows in the reception instead of doing what's needed)

I think this place have been awesome 20years ago. Now it`s more like an abandoned place. Nevertheless its quite ok and great value for the money. The pool is ok, but the sunchairs should be renewed asap.

We stayed at Ubud Garden Villa for 1 week in Sept.2018 and we loved our stay. The garden, reception but mostly the pool are amazing. A lot of green and the pool is quite large. The food in their restaurant is simply amazing. I tried something different each day and never had something I didn't like. It's not just simple hotel food but meets good restaurant standards! I'm genuinely surprised their restaurant is this quiet. Their staff is all very friendly and helpful. From the poolboys to the roomcleaning and the reception. We also had a airport pickup which was very relaxing. One evening we wanted to dine in our room and this was no problem at all. The room was spacious enough with a comfy bed. But the general hygiene could be better. A but of fresh paint, a new airco unit it would all help.

Rustic accommodation just a short walk from the centre of Ubud. Pictures are slightly deceiving as rooms are quite a bit smaller and more run down than they appear online, however it still offers value for money. The WiFi was erratic and was not available inside the room. Breakfast was lovely, although there was limited choice. The pool was beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly and more than willing to accommodate any request. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Nice location in the hills above Campuhan bridge, outside the crowded Ubud city center. The bungalows need a revamping, window screen are brake, shower tray made of stones is not stable, the upper deck mezzanine is unfurnished, the reserve of hot water for shower is not enought for two people. Swimming pool and surrounding: sun beds are in bad conditions, same for the chairs. Breakfast: quite good, juice or fruir salad, omelette and 1 slice of bread, coffee or tea. Why a pancake or toast and jam has to be charged ? The workers and receptionist are lovely; you can Rent a scooter directly at the villa and the daily rate are better than other you can find nearby. The location is really nice ans has a great potentiality but I suggest to foresee a deep maintenance as soon ad possible to the structures.
