When you first arrive, you cannot tell how large this property is, but once you walk towards the back it has a super peaceful vibe. The pool is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are amazing. The coolest thing about this hotel is the privacy is it is able to provide for each room with a little garden area outside of the bedroom. It's great that you can keep the windows open to your garden and have lots of privacy. They refill your waters and fruits daily, which is really cool. The breakfast was one of our favorites as far as hotels go, with these delicious papaya and pineapple jams. The staff is super friendly. The only thing we encountered was that our AC was a little loud the first couple of nights and leaking. We told the staff and they actually fixed it that same day, so they were super fast to get it working perfectly again. Do book a walk in the ridge - which is one of the free activities. Skip the birds... not that great. Unless you're into birds I guess. You have to pay for the viewing spot - I forget how much but it wasn't worth it.

My husband and I stayed at 5 hotels during our honeymoon and this was definitely the nicest. We got one of the rooms with a private pool and it was AMAZING. The room was huge, there was fresh fruit provided, two lounge chairs by the pool, and a day bed outside by the fountain. And of course the pool itself was super nice. The hotel is pretty centrally located, the staff were helpful, and breakfast was tasty. Highly recommend!

After our 90-plus- minute drive from the Bali airport, with our driver fighting traffic the whole way, Ubud’s Barong Resort and Spa was a welcome refuge. The staff was not just friendly but accommodating to our every need, from adjusting the dinner menu to fit tender digestive systems to letting us check out past the regular time. Our room was spacious, thankfully air-conditioned and within walking distance of the Sacred Monkey Forest. It proved a fine contrast from the typical Balinese bustle. And it has a pool.

This is the second occasion we have stayed at Barong. It dies not disappoint. It is restrained, comfortable quiet and private, yet on Monkey Forest Road it is close to restaurants and shops. The gardens are beautiful and well-tended; the pool is perfect to swim in and relax around. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms palatial. The staff at the hotel are excellent. They actively solve any problems, and are warm and smile a great deal. Breakfast was included and was excellent . The complementary activities offered, such as the ridge walk were also excellent. If you do not want a villa, this is the next best thing and gives you a quiet and beautiful Bali experience. We will go back.

A nice little hotel in central Ubud with very sweet and attentive staff. We stayed in a Deluxe Bungalow, situated on the 2nd floor. The room had a large verandah with views over the pool area and greenery. The verandah have a big day bed to lounge in. The room is of normal size, with a big bed with mosqito net, TV, AC, fan in the roof, minibar. Everyday we got compimentary fruits in our room. The bathroom is very big with both bathtub and a shower, wardrobes and a safe. The water pressure in the shower sometimes were almost none, but after a call to room service they fixed it. The WiFi was not the best speed and often came and went… The pool area is small but nice with greenery. The lounge/restaurant is nice, but not the best food, there is room for improvement. We had a complimentary breakfast every day and it was good, with a big omelette, freshly pressed juice, fresh fruit plate and Bali Kopi. Unfortunately Ubud has become somewhat of a party place and some nights live music from nearby restaurants could be heard. Overall this is a nice little hotel in the middle of Ubud, close to restaurants and shops. A bit overprized, but clean with attentive staff. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were held nice and clean everyday.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 6 nights. We found it to be very centrally placed and enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly and the bungalow was inviting. However, there was many places for ants and spiders to get into our room which was less pleasant. Would rate a 5 if we felt that the isolation was better, there was some noise and also because of the just mentioned insects. To people not familiar with Ubud- it is not possible to order a BlueBird taxi in Ubud, which we found to be extremely difficult when the private cars had more than double the rates. The hotel will help with transportation, but because of what I just mentioned, the rates are fairly high in comparison. Enjoyed our stay! Would recommend seeing the monkey forest.

This is the cutest hotel. Situated so centrally located, walking distance to everything in Ubud (so convenient). It’s small boutique, with around 13 rooms. The rooms are big, spacious and so comfortable. They even have like a little lounge area. Everything was in excelente condition. They have ac, fan, tv, boom box, safety box, fridge, even adaptor for electronic devices of different frecuency. The bathroom is spacious plus has bath and shower. The staff is so nice and helpful. The food is not the best, but is decent, plus you have restaurants all over the place walking distance. I absolutely loved it! I would definitely come back and stay here.

This hotel is a dream! I stayed at this hotel for 4nights with my friend to celebrate both our birthdays. Before our holiday I messaged the hotel to see if they could arrange a surprise for my friend for her birthday I.e drinks on arrival or flowers on the room. The hotel replied quickly to my email and advised they were more than happy to arrange this. So when we got there we were greeting with the most nicest hotel staff I have ever come across. We were provided with a complimentary drink and face cloth after our 16hr journey to Bali.. We were taken to our room only to fine we had a superior room with our own outdoor area, happy birthday on the bed written in flowers and a flower bath! The room was huge, it even had a seating area. The bathroom was huge, really good shower too. After we settled in, the staff also bought a cake and sang happy birthday :) which I thought was a really nice touch :) The air on in the room was amazing, our room was cleaned everyday, staff would come and turn our lights on in the evening, close blinds and turn down the mosquito nets. I don’t know if it was the time of year we travelled but the hotel was really quite not many guest at all but this was perfect. We basically had the whole pool area to ourselves. The breakfast in the hotel was nice too, eggs toast.. the usual. The location is the best. We were literally at the top of the road from monkey forest And Bali markets. On a main road with plenty of bars and restaurants, always thing to do. That being said, although the hotel is on a main road you never hear any noise from the rooms because there all at the back of the You can literally get a taxi anywhere as there are locals constantly asking ‘taxi taxi’ you can also barter on price. Some of the activities we did in one day were tegenungan waterfall, (entry fee, I think 10,000-20,000 rupiah per person, Don’t quote me) Beautiful views, bit rocky as you have to climb up and down the stairs to the waterfall. Very tiring ). Tegalalang rice terrace. (100,000 rupiah per person to go on the swing) beautiful views, amazing experience on the swing. Pura tirta empul, again don’t quote me I think is was 50,000 per person for entry. This is a temple that you can have a look around and get involved on the rituals that the locals do. Kintamani volcano view. You can have food here with the view of the volcano. Bali luwak coffee plantation, If you like your coffee then go here. Monkey forest is a must to! We organised a driver/guide to take us to all theses locations and guide us around. He was amazing his name was Kadek and he literally helped us so much. He also take the best photos.he knew all the best angles lol. And just to give you a rough estimate we paid taxi fair 700,000 rupiah for two people to be driven around and guided around all day. Two of my favourite places to go on the evening were LOL bar and cp lounge. Both are lively great vibes, really friendly staff. We drank rainbow shots together so were officially friends.. I never once came across a rude local everyone is nice I love bali. hotel. *Just a tip on food prices as we were in the dark about what’s cheap and what’s not. On the first night we paid 120,000 rupiah for what was meant to be a sharing plate of pork ribs. Only to find we had two ribs each. Look around.. don’t be afraid to try the local restaurants. The portions are small in Bali compared to the uk so we were eating little and often. On average we tried to stay around the 50-60,000 rupiah for a meal... cocktails are more expensive than beer, so I stuck to the local beer called bintang. Which is nice..the bintang radler especially as it has lemon mixed in with it. Bali markets.. practice bartering before you go, cause this is all you will do lol I would 100% recommend this hotel, I can’t say one things back about my stay here and in ubud. I can’t wait to return... BARONG...thank you for the most amazing time. I’m sure I’ve missed out some points as I could talk about this for hours.... Any questions please feel free to ask. I can give you the tips that I wish I had before arrived. Especially if your travelling to gilli T throughout your stay.
