We bailed on our Air BnB after one night and came here - what a relief. Travelling with one child is actually quite tricky - hard to have a teen in with you but he's too young to be in a separate room in many places. Our room was huge and had a King and 2 single beds - more...

My room had a very large terrace with its own koi/lotus ponds and a view of the rice fields. I was there for two weeks pre-retreat and 2 weeks of retreat ("in the Garden of Well-Being"). A bit outside the incredible bustle of Ubud, there are many excellent restaurants and we found an excellent massage place. The people are like...

Melati Cottages are in the nearby 'village' of Penastanan. It is older traditional style accommodation - budget priced. It is my idea of a perfect place to stay in Ubud. You get the feeling of being in such a beautiful place but not overwhelmed by the crush of tourists wandering the main streets now full of shops and 'business'. So...

Spent one month here, and, unlike some Bali budget hotels, Melati has ceiling fans, hot running water (all day), large, airy, sun filled rooms (only 2-3 have A/c), and property is in the midst of rice fields... so, quiet (unless loud crickets, frogs and geckos keep you up!), surrounded by noises of nature.... Many guests are annual visitors for extended...

Wonderfully kind hearted staff who instantly became our friends. We felt so at home here. Great buffet breakfast each morning. Great size pool for swimming laps. Super quiet rooms, so nice to be tucked away from the main road. The rooms are simple and clean, not super to class fancy, but this is not what we came to Bali for....

Located just outside of Ubud, which is actually a bit of a relief from the busyness. You can however walk to the centre of Ubud in about 10-15 minutes (or it's just a few minutes in a cheap taxi). There are some cafés and shops nearby if you didn't want to go to the centre each day. The rooms are...

As a solo traveler I spent about a week and a half at Melati Cottages this February. From the location (Penestanan so a little quieter than the hustle of Ubud but close enough to walk to the city center) to the staff (I don't want to leave them) to the room (clean, private, spacious) it was just all fantastic. I...

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of our holiday in Bali. The upstairs room with fan was lovely. Unfortunately for us there was a European family who left their toddler from 10 am till 9 pm with Balinese carers and we had to endure the noise of its tantrums etc. Also there was loud African drumming on...

The staff are very helpful. There was a bit of a blip with our driver not arriving at the airport for the late night arrival, but we took a taxi and it was fine. We were greeted and taken to our rooms by friendly staff. In the morning I discovered the beautiful gardens and rice paddies. The walk into Ubud...
