I ate lunch at the Gustis Garden Cafe. The nicest thing was the ambience on a quiet stretch of Jalan Kajeng and sitting facing a lovely, peaceful garden and fountain. They seemed to be surprised to have a client, though it was lunchtime. The menu was standard Warung at good prices. I had fried fish garlic style with fries and vegetables, very tasty fried in butter, though the fish itself was dry and tough. It did not occur to them to bring ketchup and salt. I had to ask to get a tiny portion of each. Despite everything I was perfectly pleased with my meal including a glass of fresh squeezed pineapple juice for less than a dollar.

This place looked way more sketchy on the photos than in actuality. We were incredibly surprised by the simple charm of this place and it's riverine location. Away from the bustle of main street it was an oasis of calm. Management needs a bit of customer training but for a family homestay with a pool and decent breakfast - It was a solid bargain and stayed an extra night. Ps hot water and low pressure was an issue over our stay

We stayed here for nearly a week. The 2 stars are earned for the location - both the beautiful gardens and Kajeng road which is quiet though just up from busy central Ubud. The loss of stars is due to the rundown rooms - the outdoor furniture was ripped, the toilet was in The shower and we had rat droppings each night in the balcony. In addition the service was really lacking, we weren’t told anything about Breakfast or anything else, it really felt unfriendly. We would not return.

Myself and 3 friends stayed here for a week whilst in Ubud. The private bungalows give you privacy and a little seclusion. We have been travelling for 6 weeks and this is the nicest place we’ve stayed in that time! Exceptional value for such big rooms in such a beautiful spot. It’s nice and quiet as set away from the road but only a short walk to all shops, bars, restaurants etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves really tasty food at a cheap price. Lovely relaxing pool area. Couldn’t fault the room; comfortable beds, lots of space, air con, hot shower and a little terrace. Very happy with our stay and would return. Thanks Gusti!

Me and my partner spent a week at Gustis in a lower floor bungalow. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, with a vibrant garden full of wildlife (lizards, turtles, koi fish, butterflies etc). The rooms are bungalow style and are big and spacious, with a hot shower and bath also. Cute little balcony’s out front too with tables and chairs, and the staff decorate them with flowers each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and are always around to ask questions. Great pool and also a restaurant attached which is not too pricy. All in all a great choice of accommodation, it’s like a little haven just off a side street on the main road so good location. You can also arrange laundry, taxi and tours as well as transfers to other locations through the staff too. Thanks for a great stay!!

We found this place after reading good reviews, it’s on a lovely small quiet road really near Centre but you’d have no idea you were so close. It’s super quiet and friendly, everything you need is on that street. The venue looked a bit empty when we arrived, restaurant was closed a lot and we didn’t really realise it was in use till the day before we left. The garden is absolutely gorgeous, luscious greenery with cobbled pathways and steps. Small clean pool. There’s some ponds with a turtle and some cool fish! Lots of butterflies in the area, and immediate junglyness up above. The room was acceptable, the bed was super comfy with a big thick blanket if needed, and we had everything we needed ... it just needed a bit of love. Outdated deco, loud rattly fan and a general mustiness that got in our clothes by the end. Loved having hot water shower for once! Also WiFi worked great in our room. Great bonus. Felt the breakfast could have been better ... standard small pancake and simple fruit platter with instant coffee or tea. As it’s a family run business they could easily make this so much better. A good Breakfast is a big deal for me! :) We had some issues with the taxi politics of the area. We tried to find our own taxi to leave Ubud but Gusti Garden basically wouldn’t let us. We got a good deal so it was fine but we felt a bit pushed into it. Got this vibe a few times with money related things. All in all a lovely stay, smiley happy staff, but I think the place could do with some re vamping and a bit more flexibility for their guests.

Room overlooking the forest - great view with a nice balcony! Refreshing pool downstairs in the garden. Really great setting and good value-for-money. The room itself was decent - no AC and the ceiling fan wasn't over the bed, shower head didn't really offer too much water! No rubbish bins in the room/bathroom which would have been nice. There were literally no other guests due to the volcano issues in Bali so maybe everyone was a bit relaxed but no room cleaning for the three nights we were there - not a huge issue and probably we could have resolved it if we'd asked them to do it - the staff were all very friendly and always all smiles. I would stay there again without any qualms.

The stay at Gusti was good. The rooms were reasonable priced and the name does not deceive, the rooms are in a beautiful garden and it's easy to forget that you are near the Main Street in ubud. The breakfast was not really a breakfast more of a light snack and the staff was very helpful with booking of tours and transport.

The bungalow is spacious, we enjoyed our room and the balcony facing the garden! We especially like the sound of the running water down the valley. It's so soothing. The whole place is so quiet yet it is only a short walk to the Ubud Palace! Excellent value for the money. The hotel could improve much by the following: A. Brighten the lighting B. Bug spray the ants C. Adjust the wooden doors to help them clos better D. Add a few hooks for hanging stuff.

I loved my stay. Was only a night but will be back in a couple weeks and will be here for sure. Staff was all smiles and the rooms were clean. Nice and central. Breakfast was okay just a pancake but the fruit was delightful.
