This is the most beautiful hotel in Surabaya. Built in 1910 by the famous Sarkies brothers, it has stayed true to its history and classic design. The grounds are beautifully kept, the rooms are charming, and the staff-excellent. i walk thru the hotel and I feel like I'm walking back in time. There is a large gym, spa, swimming pool,...

Probably the most lovely hotel I've experience, the Majapahit Hotel was built by the Dutch at the beginning of the 20th century. Beautifully restored, large rooms, a lovely pool, exercise facilities and spa, a lively bar, and an excellent location make the Majapahit a destination. The inner courtyards feature trees that are probably as old as the building itself and...

This hotel is unassuming from the street view, but amazing when you enter. It is truly a throw back hotel, with gracious and unobtrusive service. Breakfast was of high quality, and the rooms were huge. It would definitely be a place I would want to come back to

The rooms were excellent, its history can tell how much it has learned from the experience. Service was good, parking was saving time and securely managed. Food was delicious. Paintings on the strategic walls reminded visitors that this hotel has gone through Dutch colonialism, Japanese occupation, World War II, Independence War and at last Republic of Indonesia.

Such a great find in the middle of the bustling city. I stayed two nights for business and hope I could have stayed longer. Beautiful colonial hotel, the only one left in the city I was told, that offer comfortable and friendly accommodation. Breakfast is wonderful with so many choices and a graceful staff. I will definitely return if I...

This hotel is gorgeous and truly magnificent in every way. Don't let its utilitarian facade fool you. We felt as if we were stepping into another time and era. The front desk checked us in efficiently and politely. We were given welcome cold towels and drinks, and shown to our room. The interior of the hotel is truly a beauty;...

This hotel is a historic building and a must see if you are interested in the colonial history of the Netherlands in Indonesia. The former Oranje Hotel has a beautiful garden and like the building itself is well maintained. Drink a tea outside and time travel to the early 20th century!!

Back to the 1900's... a unique experience... why not treat yourself for something truly different from the vertical world of hotels and enjoy life at a slower pace and get pampered by our diligent staff. If you are heading to Surabaya again and if you want to stay at kings and presidents's favorite place, the Majapahit is the way to...

Yes an Old Hotel, Heritage and listed! One of the top 4 hotels is South East Asia: Raffles, Strand, E&O & Majapahit (former Oranje Hotel: built in 1910) and all owned originally by the infamous Sarkies Brothers. So yes a lot of history, vintage moments and a true legend... George Hazard / General Manager
