If you're looking for a safe place to go, to get away from the stress of the Corvid19 craziness, this is the place.
It is a simple resort with wooden huts set in what feels like Katong in Singapore during the 1960s. A clean, powder white sandy beach was less than 50m from my hut and I could hear the peaceful lapping of waves when I went to sleep at night.
There was everything I needed to be comfortable, a front porch on which to sit, drink my coffee and write; a double bed with a sturdy mosquito net, a fan, a shower and loo, and a cool back verandah for privacy. Just so that you know, there is no hot water. But with the tropical heat, a cool shower turned out to be rather invigorating.
The staff is friendly and attentive without being smothering The restaurant has local food (sometimes freshly caught fish, like when I was there) and surprisingly there is also a wood burning pizza oven for yummy pizzas. There is a bar by the beach should you need to quench your gullet while tanning, swimming or taking a turn on either of the two rather charming rustic swings.
Ok. In case it's important for some people, there is wifi and the signal is pretty decent even where my hut was, at the end of the compound.
I was happily surprised to find out that as a push to go zero-waste, reusable water bottles are made available to be refilled at the restaurant or the beach bar.
All in all, my 3 day stay here help me retain some semblance of sanity away from the anxiety and fear in Singapore because of the virus.
Nothing like fresh salt air and a restful kampung atmosphere to help fortify the body and the spirit.

The Mutiara Eco Beach Resort was our first stop on a trip to Singapore and India. I really wanted a beachy part of the trip and Singapore just doesn't do beaches (not the way I wanted). I booked 2 nights at the Mutiara and I am so glad that I did. After landing in Singapore we raced to the ferry terminal and took the Sindo Ferry to Bintan Island. The resort was very responsive to messages and help me set up a driver who picked us up and drove us to Mutiara.
When we arrived we were soooo tired from traveling for 18 hours from the US West Coast. Everything about Muitara was perfect. The staff were so kind and accomodating. We got there on Valentine's day and were able to book a couples massage in these adorable little huts on stilts over the water. That was a great surprise as we had not booked ahead!
The cabin was very simple, the mesh around the bed protected us from any bugs and we slept well listening to the ocean through the rattan of the hut. Despite only being there for 2 days, we took full advantage of all they had to offer! The meals were so good! The staff is excellent at letting you know that you need to order your meals in a timely fashion, as they are made to order.
There was a beach bar with yummy rum drinks and we enjoyed swimming and lounging on the deck of the boathouse. We rose early and walked the beach at sunrise both days. They are very good about treating their sand and I honestly don't think I got bit by a single bug. We were able to hire a scooter from one of the staff and do a little tour of the north end of Bintan and Trikora Beach which was super fun. To round out the experience there was a puppy called Leesa that we totally fell in love with!
The hospitality and level of service at Mutiara Beach Resort was on par with anywhere I have ever been, the people of Indonesia are so kind and gracious! The price at the end for our accommodation, drinks, food, and massages literally blew our socks off!
We often talk about how great it would be to go back! Don't miss this gem of a place!

We decided for a quick last minute get away to Mutiara, as we went there for pizza once last year. Those are even better now, incredibly yummy... our beach hut, or villa, has all the necessities and no frills to worry about. The sound of the waves was extremely soothing. Next morning coffee was local and excellent and service sweet and efficient. Very good classic 75 minute massage; no music, only a symphony of birds accompanying. Our baby girl loved the white sandy beach which was immaculate. No need for mini bar or phone, the lovely staff were constantly bouncing around taking afternoon orders for snacks and ice cold beers, promptly delivered. Cold (not ice cold!) shower was a treat and we didn’t miss the lack of A/C for a second, relishing in the sea breeze. Top value for your money. The Swiss owner Marc was ever present in the background supporting a great team. Terima kasih we’ll be back soon!

Quiet, relaxing and welcome break !
We came here with our son after a 1 hour boat ride (and then one hour taxi) from Singapore for a 2 night break from Singapore. The guest house is set in an idyllic location amongst the tree and on a peaceful and beautiful beach. The accommodation is basic and the setting very 'roots' but that's what we came here for. (No hot water in shower etc...but that's the charm of it 😉). The personnel are all very serviable and friendly. We were the only people at the hotel the first night and then joined by another couple .. Soooo quiet !! No-one at all on the beautiful beach !!. The food is good and fresh. Altogether great value for money !! We highly recommend!!

A true tropical paradise… the resort is set in lush tropical forest, facing onto a beautiful secluded beach if white sand and azure sea. The ‘kampong’ style accommodation is simple but comfortable. The area is remote and peaceful, yet atmospheric, with a nearby mosque giving regular calls to prayer. The proprietor is extremely helpful and knowledgeable; the staff are helpful, charming and professional. Mosquitoes can be irritating, but that comes with the environment, and free repellent and cream are in constant supply. We came for a break from Singapore… what a contrast and hard to believe the two places are separated by only two hours’ travel by ferry and car.

Mutiara Beach Resort is a hidden gem offering a perfect blend of serenity and rustic comfort. The private white sand beach, surrounded by a lush coconut grove, creates a picturesque escape. The river spa, which you can get to by sampan, was such a treat. Even better because the treatments were such good value for money.
The individual huts provide comfortable accommodation. My favourite part was the hammock that you can hook up on your deck. Napping to nature's lullaby and waking up to the gentle rustle of leaves is an experience in itself.
The menu provided ample variety. With Indonesian Nasi Goreng, fresh fish and wood fired pizza. What more could a girl ask for?
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. 3 days wasn't long enough. I'll be back for a week the next time.

This is a great little find. We came from Singapore and found a total contrast which was lovely. We were the only guests at the resort but this didn't matter. The staff were very attentive. We went Kayaking and used the Stand up paddle boards on site. The team arranged us a day trip, with a guide, to Tanjung Pinang and also an amazing mangrove boat trip to see the fireflys. As others have mentioned the mosquitoes can be a little annoying but the grounds, spa, beach and sea more than made up for it! We hope yo visit again soon!

From Singapore it is only an hour ferryride and 50k with taxi. Two hours from Changi and the we arrived in a lush paradise with a white pristine beach. We checked into a bungalow, the standard is simple, by everything is clean and with attention to detail and with all comforts. The beach is amazing, the spa is unreal on poles in the river and the food and service from the friendly and social staff is all five points. We highly recommend Mutiara, totally tranquil paradise a couple of hours from Singapore.

dear friend from Sweden,
my apologies for the slow reply
for some reason you enquiry did not prompt an email advice...
there are 2 main options for getting from Singapore to Bintan by ferry:
a) BBT ferry terminal, by BRF ferries
b) Tanjung Pinang ferry terminal, by Sindo Ferry or Majestic Fast Ferry
best regards,
Marc
dear Guest,
thanks a lot for your interest in our resort, and my apologies for the slow reply this time...
1. we have single-seater kayaks, snorkeling sets and stand-up paddle boards available for rental
2. we have road bicycles for rent, and a hiking trip to Gunung Bintan / Mount Bintan can be arranged
... there is also an activities provider located on our grounds, called Tanah Laut Adventures, that provides guided kayaking and mountain bike tours
3. getting to our places from Singapore is easy, by ferry either to Bintan Resorts or to Tanjung Pinang... you can then charter a public taxi from the ferry terminal, or ask us to pre-arrange a private taxi on your behalf
we look forward to your visit!
best regards,
Marc
