My family stayed 2 nights here. We loved the sea view, smell of the sea and the sound of the waves. Very friendly staff and the owner makes sure that we enjoyed our stay here. Will definitely come back here again.

Nice sea view from any kelong stay. Very windy and can feel the kelong wobbling. Not much amenities provide as its already stated is a kelong stay. Expect nothing if u want to experience back to basic lifestyle where there’s no tv no heater no internet no air con. It was a great experience for me to be out of urbanisation. Kelong have a sunrise facing. Great for photography.

Unfortunately there is not much good to be said about the Bintan Laguna "Resort" and restaurant. The service is wanting, the rooms dilapidated and dirty, the food soaked in oil and oyster sauce. During our stay we saw almost no vegetable and no fruit what so ever. Eve if I got paid, I would not want to come here again. Heavily overpriced.

We stayed 3 night in the resort and all went well. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel for this price, it’s pretty humble. Staff is very nice, food is excellent but everything seems a bit too expensive for what you get. The atmosphere is very nice and chill. BE CAREFUL and check the receipts that they give, they added things that we did not take to our bills

For several reasons (see photos and message below), I didn't feel respected as a customer. The place is great in itself (wooden structure on stilts by the sea), but everything else is absolutely disappointing: terrible room cleanup, client attention, food quality, etc. As an example of non respect to clients, beside the room cleanup: I ordered a soup with vegetables but WITHOUT seafood. The soup arrives 15 minutes later with seafood. I kindly explain and ask it to be replaced. The soup goes back in the kitchen, an 2 minutes later my 'new' soup arrives. They have put out seafood (at least some of the shells). It was obviously the same soup. Then I asked for fried vegetables instead, 15 minutes later my order arrives: a vegetable soup. I gave up. The most terrible is the hygiene. If you pay for a room, the minimum to expect is clean sheets and towels. They were objectively dirty with spots of dried blood, sweat and some other unidentified (see pictures).…

I spent there a weekend with some friends and although the scenery was very nice, the facilities and the staff were very disappointing. I wasn't expecting much for the price but it seemed that they hadn't step in that room for years, all the surfaces and even the bed where full of insect eggs. Still the worst part was the staff. They tried to scam us all the time, they made us pay more than we had firstly agreed to hire two motorbikes, almost double than we could have payed anywhere else, they tried to give us broken helmets, when booking the shuttle to the ferry terminal they would pretend that they had forgoten about us asking for the price that same morning, and many other silly but unpleasant things like adding hot water to the morning coffee when the pot was almost finished. At the restaurant the service was slow (it took them 1 hour to serve us 5 plates), they got angry when we tried to ask whether they had forgotten about our order, the food wasn't too good either, and juices were also mixed with water. We only ate there once and then moved to the many little restaurants in the beaches around, they had the same prices and the food and service where way better.…

I booked this very budget resort for only one reason - I wanted to sleep in a tradtional kelong. I knew that at this price, with these reviews, I would be in for a rough night's sleep but I was feeling adventurous. We arrive at Bintan Laguna Restaurant and Resort about 1pm. We arranged for Akuang to pick us up from the ferry terminal at TJ but we arrived earlier and so we took a local taxi (250.000rp). My partner stared daggers at me as we pulled in, shocked at the state of the entrance. A broken old toilet block and random construction rubbish laying around. The place looked more than run-down, it appeared abandoned and dilapidated. As we walked across to the reception and restaurant area it appeared to be well-maintained and clean, so we started to feel more at ease. The staff have limited English but are very friendly and easy to communicate with you. We were showed to our kelong room and I was a little disappointed that the balcony rooms weren't available because of upgrades to the footpath. The room is small and wooden, it has a double bed in the middle with clean sheets and a new mattress. The walls have been covered in something like sheetmetal but it is all tearing away at the corners and you can see the ocean through the cracks. The bathroom is just a toilet that goes straight out to the ocean and a shower, neither are particularly clean or maintained but I wasn't expecting much. The rooms are very open, there are gaps in the roof and between the wall/floor, so you feel very at one with nature. I pulled the toilet paper one night and a lizard landed on my hand! There is a powerpoint and a dirty old fan, so you can charge your phones etc. The first night there was a thunderstorm and it was loud and lots of lightning but no water leaked on to our things and we felt very safe because the kelong was sturdy. The friendly girl at reception was there from breakfast to dinner and she arranged a few tours for us. Everything is expensive as it competes with resort activities. I recommend the mangrove tour, although it cost 350.000rp each, it is one of a kind because the resort boat driver will take you there instead of a tour group. The restaurant is nice and reasonably priced, good seafood that they catch daily - you can see it in their tanks. The breakfast is included and is fried rice or noodles, which are both pretty good. Nice coffee too. Location is good if you just want to lounge around and read on your porch. You can do a bit of exploring on foot, we walked down to Bintan Spa Villa and ate dinner there. Like most resorts in Bintan, you are pretty much bound to your resort for all activities. As we traveled around Bintan Island I noticed a recurring theme, entire resorts abandoned and overgrown. Just around the corner from us was a two-storey structure with no windows, being taken back by the jungle. A once tropical resort, Marjorly, looked deserted but apparently was still open for business. When we arrived back at Bintan Laguna after a day out I noticed an old broken gatehouse and boom were hidden at the entrance by overgrowth. There was an old poster, faded by time, which had 'Kelong Resort - Where Adventure Never Stops' printed on it. It took me a minute to connect that poster to the place that stood before me. It appears this resort was at one time a popular holiday destination, but slowly it has been fading away. I assume that places like this can't afford to keep up with the larger resorts and end up being pushed into closing, but it was so sad to think of what it once was. So, I guess you need to be a little adventurous to stay here and be able to put aside your creature comforts for a close-to-nature sleep on the ocean. It is budget accommodation compared to others around, so you can save money on your stay and put towards activities instead. Nice staff make you feel at home. PLEASE NOTE: I want to stress to you that this is VERY old and weathered accommodation and you will need to manage your expectations accordingly. We considered checking out after we saw the room, especially after we walked over to Bintan Spa Villa, but decided to stay because we liked the character.…

I guess everyone knows that most of Indonesian is very friendly, Great hotel view, but some of the rooms look like going to collaps, other side of the room lower then the rest. I've been stayed to 5 star hotel many times, and at this time I just would like to experience normal hotel. I stayed here for 2 nights, the first night was amazing as we are the only one who stayed there as it was on week day. But second day, there was another guest who just arrived, we were sleeping by the time their check in, our room is actually connected to other rooms. Three rooms connected to each other. At the beginning we thought other guest will stay just next to us because it was very noisy, I could really hear what they are talking about. Recepcionist said that their occupancy is low, then we thought why they didn't accomodate them to some other room. We woke up that because of the noise which came from the other guest. My husband went to reception to inform regarding this, receptionist said that the guest themself requested to stay there. All the room except Lavender is the privacy, and do not expect to have privacy for other rooms as the partition perhaps flywood. Whatever people next to your room talk, you will hear it clearly. In this case my husband ask receptionist to move to other room and they were agreed. Interm of view, the first room was much better then the escond one. We could the ocean from window, but it's even better if there is balcony behind so that we could seat and and facing to tne ocean at night. I thought they will provide us buffet for breakfast, intead they just give us 3 options either fried rice, fried noodle and also toast. My husband asked the staff wether we could order some other food but they said, it's not possible. Overall, I can recommend this hotel to my friend who is not picky with foods especially for breakfast otherwise tney will blame on me. They have lots of options for dinner, on the first night my husband ordered seafood fried rice, and I ordered seafood fried noodle, I found there was no seafood at all in it,second night we decided to go other restaurant outside and it was really tasty. The price it's even cheaper compare then hotel price. We thought at the beginning if we like this place we would like to extend our stay for another couple days, unfortunately not.…

The place is beautiful and feels like holidays on a desert island - lost somewhere in the Pacific Ocean! Sunrise and sunset are breathtaking! You can borrow canoes for free and go chill on the white sand island (20mn away)...! The restaurant is very good and provide fresh seafood. On the other hand, even though the place is cheap and we are supposed to manage expectations, the service is a disaster (issues to communicate in English) and the rooms need deep improvements especially the bathrooms! Own experience was that because of the rain, my room got flooded. The ceiling was actually a tarpaulin and all the water accumulated flowed directly into my bag. My all stuff was completely soaked!!! Ok to stay one night :) Recommendations: bring your own sheets, towels, shower gel, etc. Massage highly recommended (full body Indonesian type) No aircon Free Wifi at the reception only …
